I often forget raiders in rimworld have pure intentions of destroying everything and killing anything that moves, because normally raids get taken care of or im getting too good at the difficulty I play on.. Seeing that absolutely amazing ending popped back how floodthirsty and how capable these raids are to take over
That finale was so fucking intense holy shit, I genuinely had no clue what was gonna happen in the end One of my favourite playthroughs even if I prefer vanilla content, goddamn
Holy... I'm trying to do Randy, clasic LoF, 200+ mods with CE and I can't even get past making automatic guns. Just making me realize how insane this run was. 😮
Normal game mode lets you destroy centipedes with assault rifles and one of the most used tactics is just stacking 10 colonists in the middle of nothing and shooting. CE makes you use real military tactics and forces you to be smarter with equipment and with what you do in combat
You know, when I was participating in Operation Desert Storm, Saudi experienced the wettest weather historically. The rain came straight down and sort of hurt if you were out in it but when it was over it was like nothing happened, the sand had sucked up all of the moisture. This went on for a few days and then the sand said it was full and flooded. Good thing our awesome tents had floors.
Good lord Cassandra at the end there is just like, “Oh? You think you’re hot stuff, Randy Random? Hold my beer…” She proceeds to crack her knuckles and lays waste at the end.
What surprises me is the lack of high end gear for most other pawns. They look like to be still wearing flak armor and basic ARs in the end last 100 days. Flak armor does shit against centipedes and impairs carey weight a lot.
Not just that, he spent all that time and all those resources researching and building those Rimatomics base defenses, used them for a short time and then completely forgot them when he started powering up the ship reactor.
@geraldapollyon655 He should have started slower with CE and used his pawns more for combat to get used to the very different style of combat. With CE, kill boxes against large mech raids aren't always necessary but recommended.

But if you're doing just a vanilla run with no mods at all then Marine Armor for your ranged pawns, Recon Armor with Shield Belt for melee pawns and Prestige Armor for Noble pawns. For ranged pawns the best overall weapon is the Charge Rifle, while for melee it's the Persona Monosword. This of course is assuming you are running all the DLC's and no mods.
for any one that isnt aware combat extended makes mechanoid centipedes into literal tanks and are pretty much the reason you give every weapon api ammo in the end game because anything short of 20mm of penetration will barely dent one
this was certainly one of the best series you ever made, especially the ending. I can't believe Cassandra managed to make a more dramatic story than Randy
I wanna see you do one of these for Vanilla Genetics Expanded. Half to see if reaching that ending in 500 days is even possible, but the other half to see just what creature combos you make

i've watch all the playthrought and what a run xD , the end was pure chaos x) Would love to see u try a pure gene focus playthrough with careful genetic meme and everything
Holy shit that ending was amazing, the utter desperation and vile decision that was made(cannibalizing the newborn), all the unfortunate circumstances that was given(that labor at the end), i thought you were set with all the marauder turrets but no, all of that was just *chef's kiss* perfect ending
Combat Extended has a lot of promise. I rarely use it because have had mid game bases wiped by armed pawns glitching out and just not shooting or needing to drop their gun on the ground and forcing them to pick it up again to sort of wake them up, mid raid. And sometimes, even that doesn't work - they just stand and get mauled to death, not bothering to fight back. Also the encumbrance system is very annoying and should be optional imo.

I think the trick with the nutrient dispenser also works with drafting the pawn, which takes the meal.
