I've lost 118 pounds eating this way! In my case because I'm older and handicapped I have to be careful. I can't eat all that food. I can't workout like you. Houseplants move more than I do! But, I'm happy with my progress just the same. Congrats to you❤

@carmadefries3729 thank you so much! For me, it's lupus and fibromyslgia. I was so sick for years before I was diagnosed I kept getting weaker. In so much pain, I spent a lot of time depressed. Losing the ability to do the thing you love is depressing. Finally I was diagnosed and medicated but I didn't feel better. All those mess and in a fog. I finally came to realize my diet had to be plating a big part in my health and I needed to make changes. I had stopped eating beef for compassion reasons. I had digestive issues and gave up sugar and dairy. Little by little I went vegan but it was junk food vegan. I had to make more changes. This was years ago. I finally figured it out and I felt better. I'm on no meds for lupus or fibro now. My blood work is great. I follow Dr Neal Barnard on RUclips whose information has been so helpful and all the great folks who have great success stories and awesome recipes too, like Chelsea. 👍 Such great people in these communities. I feel so happy to be a part of it. Take good care and keep doing what you're doing. Be well.

I use a flat tablespoon of protein powder being 79 and within a couple lbs. of my goal weight now. We have eaten overnite oats for the last 15 years every single morning! It’s our favorite meal of the day and gives me energy all day! We also add cinnamon, Flax and mashed banana- so good❣️. Love you - you’re amazing! Don’t listen to the haters- they’re just jealous🩷

Long term ethical vegan and strict, organic-only WFPB eater here (over 35 years!), and I have thick rolled oats every single morning. 😋 I soak it over night in soymilk (no oil! 😬), then add blueberries, raisins, 2 TBS of flax seed, walnuts and cinnamon and top with more soymilk. So good!! 😊

Chels, I prep my dry oats with cinnamon and flax meal in little lock and locks for the week. Make fresh every morning in the MICROWAVE! For work, I use a little Hydro Flask food thermos… so they are still pretty hot when I get to work. Wish you would talk more about the Health Benefits of WFPB…76 years young, work 4/10s … zero Rx meds…no cataracts. But still do need to lose 15lbs (ugh) after losing 90 😀!

I love all of your recipes! Another fun one to play around with is the instant pot! I set mine up with steel cut oats and water at night. 4:1 ratio. Set to pressure cook for five minutes, then hit delay start so that it starts cooking at least 30 min. before you wake up. I am telling you…even if the oats sit on warm for an hour in the morning, they will still have a great chewy texture!

Just ate my first bowl of oats for breakfast in years! I ate them everyday until about 5 years ago when I switched to fruit salad. I am here for the oats! they are so versatile. I found a pancake flavor vegan protein powder that makes my oats taste SO good! love adding flax and chia cuz you can't even taste it but it's bonus points for healthy stuff. from your videos, I have started adding frozen berries and it's delicious so thank you for sharing!! and I always appreciate you adding some facts to your videos to help everyone understand things better. it has been so helpful while watching your videos. I feel like I have learned so much!
also people are afraid of so many things. no microwaves, no oats, no soy, no crop tops, etcetcetc. and then they push their fears on others. sucks to have to deal with that but you do it with such kindness and with giving such solid info to help the understanding.

I always add my frozen blueberries afterwards and then it cools them down too much so I don’t like that so I have to heat up the blueberry separate and never ever thought about cooking them together duh.

Here I'm thinking I wouldn't learn anything from another video about oats for breakfast, but yet... I did! And even more importantly, watching your videos regularly helps keep me consistent and gives me all those reminders I need to keep going. Since finding you here on RUclips, I've started eating oats with fruit for breakfast (turns out I like fresh fruit after all?) and trying to eat about a half pound of vegetables at lunch and again at dinner. And I know I'm much healthier-and I've lost ten pounds! But even more important is those reminders. Like: I've been adding nut and seed butter to my oatmeal to get in a little healthy fat, protein, and fiber, but now I'm thinking: maybe I would be better off, while I'm in weight loss mode, to go back to just doing the flaxseed and even increasing the amount of oats instead. Same calories, less caloric density. Now if I could just figure out the afternoon snacking.... :)

The chocolate protein powder and banana oats sounded so good. I went to cupboard and noticed that my protein powder of choice is labelled vegan and, while I'm not vegan, I am going to try to push myself to consume less animal products this year. I think dairy and eggs will be the biggest hurdles for me, personally, but you've brought it to my attention that my 2025 diet/eating goals can be pushed to no meat consumption and I'd really like to put in the effort to give that a try. So thank you for this video.

I probably watched that video five times, pausing it to hear how much water you used with whole oats on the stovetop, etc. 😝🫣🤦🏻‍♀️ I have been eating the same oat breakfast nearly every day since then to help maintain my 35+lb weight loss. Stoked you’re still doing the same. Congrats on the viral video and all the misguided comments feeding the algorithm. Oats are absolutely amazing. I used to eat them every day for about three years, but at some point, I switched to savory breakfasts. I think it had something to do with the sugar content and oats being relatively low in protein. I still ate oats, but I started adding vegetables, eggs, tofu, or similar ingredients.
However, while eating savory breakfasts, I always craved something sweet afterward. It became an obsession-I couldn’t control my desire for chocolate or cookies, and I could easily eat an entire chocolate bar. I would feel sick afterward, but the cycle just continued.
About a month ago, I switched back to eating oats for breakfast, but this time I added protein powder, berries, and flaxseeds. Since then, my cravings for sweets have almost completely disappeared. Occasionally, I still want dessert, but it’s nothing like before. I no longer have to rely on sheer willpower to avoid overeating or to stay mindful.

Love, love overnight oats. I eat them every day. I prefer oat bran over normal oats. (for the fiber content)
My recipe is (takes me 4 minutes):
    60 g soy yoghurt
    17 g oat bran,
    5 g goji,
    17g nuts (walnuts)
    4 g black sesame seeds
    1 tsp.shiitake powder
    1 tsp. maitake powder
    1 TBS Chia seeds
    1 TBS Flax
    100 g frozen berries (70 g wild blueberries and 30 g raspberries/mix berries),
    1 g Ceylon cinnamon
    1 tsp hemp seeds
    lemon zest
    water
Taste like a cookie and keeps me full until lunch when I drink my smoothie. For dinner I have always a bowl with a variety of veggies and potatoes, beans. It doesn't t have to be complicated. I am a vegetarian.

Lately I’ve been cooking up a batch of baked oats for the week and it’s been great. Two mashed bananas, three cups of rolled oats, two cups of unsweetened plant milk, tsp of baking powder, tsp of vanilla, a few tablespoons of maple or date syrup, 1/4 cup PB2, couple tablespoons of flax or chia seeds and about a cup and half of frozen berries. Mix it all together, bake it at 350F for 30 mins, and you have delicious baked oats for the week! It literally tastes like you’re having banana bread for breakfast. 😊

my issue is that i am never full, never satiated. i can ignore being hungry for a period of time through pure will... but b=my brain with any gap in busy thought, screams FOOD. anxious = food, tired = food , bored = food, happy = food, sad = food.
the only time i am not hungry is when i am physically doing something. i haven't had an active job in nearly 20 years though.
and at this point, even bending down to tie my shoes makes my blood pressure roar.
i do not understand where to get the time and money to fight my hunger with activity ( not even N.E.A.T. ) - 🤷‍♂

I wear a continuous glucose monitor and am prediabetic. Anytime I have 5 tablespoon of oats minimal - my sugar spikes so high. I love oats but this shocked me. I can add protein and fat and see if it helps. I wish I could eat oats daily. Mostly I eat eggs, cheeses, yogurt when I break fast.

I use my microwave all the time. It’s great to heat up high water content things like tea, soup, etc… It makes life so much easier. I work and I’m a single mom. I don’t always have time to dirty another pan or pot when I can just microwave something.

In the late 70s, we had a "wood look" one, like wrapped in wood print contact paper and no buttons, just a single dial for time, no heat settings. There were warnings about microwaves and pacemakers. If I remember correctly, it was the magnet in the microwave that could interfere with the pacemaker, and I think that somehow got twisted into radiation leaks ... also the movie "Gremlins" probably didn't help. LOL My uncle currently in his 80s liked to refer to all microwaves as mini Chernobyls and that kind of thinking kinda stuck with Gen X. Sorry! LOL

I love your content. I went whole food plant based over 9 months ago. I eat very similar to how you eat with oatmeal being my top choice for breakfast. Since changing I have lost almost 20 pounds and feel better than ever.

In the words of the immortal Elaine Bennis, "Cheers to those who wish us well, everyone else can go to hell!" You wear and eat what you want, and ppl who have an issue with that are just not living their own lives.
