My Daddy bought a new Dodge 150 pick-up in the fall of 1988. For Christmas that year I bought him a Loadhandler. Daddy died 15 years ago leaving me both the Dodge and the Loadhandler. Both are still in use today. Somewhere we lost the handle. I made another handle from scrap metal.
Just make sure you have a slick floor in the bed of your truck. Plastic bedliners are good, some people lube the bed with WD40, or you could fasten a sheet of plastic to the floor. Makes it easier and last longer.
If you don't unload trucks every day, you can save $80. Put two or three scrap pieces of pipe in the bed, crosswise. Put a sheet of plywood on top of these rollers. Put the material atop the plywood. For bonus points, put a strap or come-along under the plywood to pull it off with.

Yeah you could. But the load handler is very simple and easy to store😊
plus harbor freight has it for $40 and with coupon probably cheaper
Beats a shovel!

Would work better I think if it had two spindles, like a conveyor belt.
