It’s such an interesting design. Part utility bike, scrambler, moped, scooter, it’s pretty cool. I can’t wait.

Great job on this! I as well like the Juiced bike but Radbikes seem to have such great customer support it's tough to beat. I think by next year or 2022 the advances in batteries will be HUGE! So I will go Rad and upgrade along the way cause you know their gonna want to sell you a bigger battery....right??? Your video was a game changer for me thank So! I remember Pismo Bch in '73 and driving out there, met some really cool people.

The first time around a friend used an angle grinder - 2nd time I cut it shorter I brought it to a machine shop and they used a metal lathe. Someone did the same but only put a single groove in it so you don’t have to chop the whole thing. Hope that helps!

I was wondering if it is possible to change the old fashion/basic display for a LCD option including speedometer, odometer and wattmeter (from bafang or even other compatible brand). RAD Power does not gave advice on this matter. Do you have any tip?
Matt Fong I got one off of eBay - I think the smart move would to wait for Bolton or litespeed to come out with a lcd and controller combo to give a little more torque and maybe top speed. Otherwise getting a used lcd from another rad owner or check eBay for a “kingmeteter lcd sw”

@@Cormacpara did you install a "RAD style" threaded barrel connector on the aftermarket LCD display (presumably an SW900)? The ones I've found on eBay have a flat 5-prong connector. Update: Adapter cables appear to be readily available in the aftermarket to match the connector types.

Nathan Simon seat was purchased at a bike shop. A lot of people rave about the cloud 9 brand. You will have to buy a seat post - I have the suntour suspension seat post which will make a big difference!

@@Cormacpara Not sure about 48volts. But there are 36volt 10.4ah lithium batteries that are basic exactly the size of a large water bottle, and same shape. That will fit into a standard waterbottle cage holder. That you could probably get. Tho since it's 48volt. you could probably find like a 14ah 48volt system possible and put the battery Underneath the rack for double power/range by plugging them into Parallel (you will have to cut the internal battery coming out of the power strip of the connector to the box, and make a parallel plug. But this is rather easy. and will not effect the bike in being to over powered. it'll just double the Ah so it'll give you twice the range then normal.) For added locking performance. I'd say buy some Disc-rotor locks. they connect to the disc rotors, and prevent the wheel from spinning to far because it'll be like a block and stop the wheel from doing a full turn. I would also say a Wheel lock, which attaches to the frame and warps a steel rod around the spokes of the wheel. but your bike is fat tires. These kind of wheel locks are only designed for normal tires sadly. But if you find one wide enough for fat tires. I'd recommend doing this to. If you also had a cargo bag in the front. you could possible also modify a large 48volt cell of another 2x 14ah's to parallel the other 2 to make 56ah and have even more range. So if the bike runs standard at 20miles 40, 80miles of range with 4x batteries. Now speed i wouldn't say to try messing with if this goes top 20/28mph. These kind of bikes can be pretty scary at higher speeds then the limiter has. And you don't have suspension, Which makes it even more risky because bumps will start making the wheels twist, and turning is really twitchy. So yea. This is mainly designed as a cargo zipper. So it's not built for speeding. So i wouldn't mess with it. If you want speed. Probably need to look at a full suspension mountain bike and modify it with electric power and speed. Those will handle higher speeds better because they won't jump around from each little bump they come into contact with. But cargo won't be something to big you'll be gaining. But on the other hand you'll get range and speed.

Very cool! It's spendy but absolutely love mine - Caveat says no more than 60lbs however. I put in the "true 750" watt motor and definitely had some issues installing. I have a post on "rad power upgrades" group on FB - but its probably buried. I pre-ordered boltons upgraded controller with tail light functionality and just had a larger crank delivered. 52v battery will be my last mod I hope!
Hi Cormac O'Brien, I just ordered this bike yesterday but I'm now concerned I might be too tall for it. I'm 6 feet 2 inches tall and this is supposed to be the max rider height this bike allows according to the specs they released on their website. How's your experience with that? qotsa4now I had the same concern - I failed to mention in the video that I am also 6’2” and the bike is totally fine with me. I always keep the seat elevated and the suspension seat post adds in a few inches as well 🤙🏻

You don't have to but I did. I mentioned what I did in the video - All I did was cut and shaved down Rad's tapered spacer to fit the width of the collar that comes with the mac ride which was about 1/2 inch. Not necessary but I wanted the mainstem handle bars to fit with as much purchase as stock.
Could you state your weight? I've read where max weightload for this bike is 300 lbs but my weight approaches 180 and I do want to carry passengers but that leaves only about 120 ibs leeway and an average sized girl & packages e.g. groceries would push it over that 300 lb limit. Would like one of these but not just if I have to ride alone. Thanx

I bought a Save Your Seat Lock and the keys are cheaply made. Well, I couldn't turn the key after locking it and broke the key in the lock. A screwdriver will break the lock in under 6 seconds to get it off. I thought it would take more.

dude I'm 6'6 and the radmini 4 fits me perfectly fine. things got telescoping handle bars- things sick.
the rad expand.... not so much....
my four year old sits on the box, feet on the forks, hands on the handlebars... loves it

It is heavy. Definitely possible though with the other upgrades. I love in a fairly flat town though.

You can add it without but when you put the handlebars back on they won't fit as well as they could be since you have to add in the mac ride spacer.

not sure - probably the standard size - I think 28.5mm
On their website, Rad Power Bikes sells the Suntour post with a diameter of 27.2mm

atigerbear great question. You can put it on there but can’t use both at the same time. The kids foot pegs drop down and are in the way
With the mac ride, is it strong enough to mount the bike on a bike rack that uses the hanging style?
Thats a good question - its rated for 65 lbs but I'm not sure if I would want to hang the whole bike from it.
