The Rockingham race, when he backed off and left that space open, people say he and dale hated eachother?..... They have no idea just how much Gordon actually looked up to Earnhardt.

Jeff and Dale had a great rivalry. Nascar's golden years. This was pretty much as competitive as it gets between drivers and fans, but Jeff had the upmost respect for Dale as much as anyone and always paid homage.

It's actually a shame and horrifyingly scary that this team actually underachieved in 2001. Led in every important stat. Most poles, wins, top 5 top 10 and laps led. I saw that entire season and yea he won 6 races but Robbie Loomis straight out gave away races with mid race to late race calls Ray Everham NEVER would have made. Like Bristol, and both Pocono races. In how I viewed those races the only way for Gordons team to lose those races they would have to beat themselves and they did. Also at Sonoma Jeff Gordon completely missed turn 11 while leading late and choked to Robby Gordon and Tony Stewart. At the Coke 600 Gordon's car looked like it was going to be what Johnsons car was in 2002 Coke 600 but while leading in the pits Gordon's crew failed to get him out and he got his fender banged in. He was primed to win that race as the hottest driver coming off of 2 second place runs and a win at the Winston going into the 600. And if Robby Gordon doesn't hit Gordon at Loudon that's another win. So great year yea but what was a 6 win season could have and should have been at the very least a 10 11 or even 12 win season in seeing how fast that car was head and shoulders above the field all year long and it could have maybe sniffed his monster 1998 season because his 98 season is unmatched in NASCAR history even by him. I wish he had won more in 2001.

That version of Atlanta was so much better than the current remodel or should I say destruction?
