That's our mall! I remember going to it when it was a dead mall before it was renovated to what it looks like now. I live close to it still and it's a busy place these days. The renovating was well worth it. Orland Park is a good community with a lot of shopping destinations. Good video.
This mall also had a Spiegel outlet. I worked there from 1989 till 1996 when they closed. It did have a food court upstairs with only 2 places open back then. I'm glad they remodeled this mall. Thanks for the nice video.
I rmemeber walking between the wards and kohl’s. The Kohl’s actually expanded into the mall building. You can see the floor divider still. Plus the brick is a bit different too. They needed more space. Pretty neat they did that. Tiger direct had the original mall floor. Very neat! I’m sure it’s gone with k&g. Bbb and steinmart is closed. I heard DSW and Nordstrom rack is next. So it’ll be empty there for a while again. Sportsmart used to be on a tall hill where the traffic light entrance is. It was an anchor to the mall (not sure if it was connected. I think it was)
I used to visit this place as well as the Orland Square mall when I lived in the area. There also used to be an Office Depot, a Sports Authority, and a World Market in this mall.
Your getting better at filming and great sound quality with your voice. Only suggestion is a wind guard for your mic but filtering is great in this compared to others
I always thought this was a creative use of a dead mall. Used to go to Stein Mart and Cost Plus World Market, where Old Navy is now, 20 years ago. Like another poster said, I remember seeing original mall floing in Tiger Direct.
A few years ago my brother and I had a coffee at the Branes and Noble coffee shop. This mall has sadly gone to hell since then/ The day I left downtoeqn Chicago by bus, the downtown was a ghost tow,
The entrance of bed bath beyond, Marshall’s, DSW and Nordstrom rack is now closed down I still remember walking in there back in 2019 man that’s gonna be a missed place
0:47 That building with Bed Bath & Beyond and Marshalls reminds me of the former JCPenney at Stratford Square. probably because they were both Wieboldt's.
July/June Of 2024 The Marshalls Was Renovated Again There is now a steinhafels furniture and Marshall’s. The mall also had a justice which closed in 2022 Or 2023 K&G Used To Be Where Ashley Homestore is but relocated
Orland Park Place was renovated around the year 2000 While it has suRVIVE3S it appeaRS THE MALL WILL FAIL ALTOGETHER. hh GREGG HAD A STORE IN THE MALL FOR A TIME.
Great video

Thank you. Yeah this never took off. In the 90s this was dead. 1981 must have been the year of the mall. Spring hill, Stratford, and this.

You're welcome. Thank you.
I remember the pizza place that was in there. I think it was called Mapchellonis?
@@chaircoverschicago seems any pizza place with a name like that would have awesome pizza.

Yes. Happy New year

I never knew this used to be an actual mall. But that is just strange to open a new one right across the street from the current one
