12:40 - *Tamaki*: But that's ridiculous, you're not the droid she's looking for.. *Nekozawa*: **looks up sad and confused** Uhh? *Tamaki*: Well just move on! We don't need to see her identification..
haruhi: "but i've learned something from this. i guess i never realized how nice of a guy you are senpai. and uh- you know you look nice without your shirt on hehe" ME SKSJAKS
Okay so sometimes during work I get random quotes stuck in my head, and I can spend hours trying to figure out what it is and where it comes from. One day at work I suddenly got "Spurned, neglected, publicly humiliated" in my head. I thought it was that first quote from Ouran, but last night I rewatched Beauty and the Beast and realized it was actually from Gaston "spurned, rejected, publicly humiliated." I never realized how similar the two were. I know Gaston is evil and Tamaki isn't, but other than that they have a lot of similarities
While all of this is very funny, just a point of curiosity: what does the term "senpai" actually mean? I've heard it in a variety of contexts, but have yet to find an actual definition of what this word means and its proper use. Can someone help me out?
Solidfact42 Typically, it's used to refer to a senior in high school or someone older than you in a school environment... at least that's what I've been taught. The term "Kohai" means the opposite... someone younger than you, or a freshman.
I remember I had to look up Japanese honourifics at one point. I would recommend doing it if you're really lost. But Senpai is typically someone older than you or someone you look up to. It's mainly used in highschool but I'm pretty sure you can use it out of school. It's like saying Sama or Sensei, except Sama is for 'royalty' or people of higher class, and sensei is for your teacher.
"I hate your face"
