Thanks for the great video! Car got totaled and I needed to get documents out before they auctioned the car. The battery was dead so I couldn’t access it. Thankfully, this can also be done if you have long, skinny fingers that can fit in the hole if you are without tools! 10/10 Tesla owners would recommend this video.
In addition to being super helpful and to the point, this video saved me ~$1800. I was considering selling my model 3 without opening my glovebox. I figured I dind't miss anything in there so it couldn't have been important. I knew I probably had SOME cash but I didn't realize I had saved me a small fortune in there!
This literally saved my vacation. I rented a Model 3 and the glovebox was locked. Border control needed to have a look in the glovebox but the rental firm did not want to provide the PIN despite the fact that I specifically said that I would cross the border and they agreed beforehand. Thank you so much !
So this worked perfect thanks but it still doesn't work after closing the glovebox back. So is this something that needs to be done at all times if stuck
I hate to be that guy but doesn't work for me and actually scratched a bit of the inside glovebox, detailed and useful video for others, and I'm sure it works for many but I would not recommend trying multiple times if it doesnt work after around 3 tries, don't take that as it being a failure of an idea though, his logic makes sense, and like I said I wouldn't be shocked if I'm just an idiot...
Had to do this after getting service for a computer issue (HW3 retrofit, hardware went bad). After opening it up, the service center seemed to have forgotten to finish up wiring in the glovebox and such. Oops!
I think a simple push to open as another way to open the glove, would have to be a good idea. This is so stupids to have to do all this just to open a glove box if the electronic goes wrong.
Now this guy knows how to make informative videos....quick and to the point AND no music in the background...🤝keep it up Ben
Thieves appreciate it as well.

Thank you so much , I over stuffed my glove box and your video saved me from going to Tesla workshop. Genius .
It took me a bunch of tries before I realized you have to pull on the allen wrench pretty hard. But then I got it open! Thank you Ben!

Needed this after an accident to recover the USB. Tesla service didn't know how to do this. Thank you so much!
This worked perfectly. Such a dumb Tesla design that you can't open the glove box after an accident. Thank you for the video.
All RUclips How To videos should be like this. I have created a How To Folder for my new Model Y and saved this. Thank you.
Please share your how to list with me as w well
Thank you. Short and to the point.
This works! It saved me lots of trouble and probably several hundred bucks in service costs. Thanks Ben!!!
Thank you! You saved me an SC appointment
Literally did this in 2 minutes thanks 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I love my Tesla, but I wish there were more manual over rides available for the car
Just opened it with a paint can lid opener, the ones they give you for free at Home Depot at the paint department!
Straight to the point !!
Thanks! Very helpful!
Man finally got in my glovebox thank u for reals man !!! Got front dash cam now
Awesome! Very hard to find this info. Hope it's the same for the X!
it looks like a good plan. unfortunately the model s does not have the same kind of glove box
This worked! Thanks you saved me 😊
im gonna attach a string or line to it and close it back up. just in case i get into an accident or something happen the screen+voice command
So this worked perfect thanks but it still doesn't work after closing the glovebox back. So is this something that needs to be done at all times if stuck
does it work even if you have the 4 digit code set?
Yes this is the manual way to open it
@@beneitzel7485 so the secure code is not that secure ! :)

Awesome find ! Do you know if this would work on a model y ?
Your tesla designers were so preoccupied with whether they could, they didn't stop to think if they should
This worked well for me! Easy to do and got my glove box open. Still stuck but at least I can get in

Thanks Ben!
It works .just insert the Allen key then pull.thank you
Excellent share.
Thank you so much
does it work on 2022??
Yes it does
Genius ,does it work even with pin locked boxes ?
I would assume so since this is physically pulling the latch
Nice. Tell me about the rattle. Similar issue I'm diagnosing at the moment.
i hear a rock rattling in the fan blade in my m3, like its bouncing constantly
Something in the right side of the dash rattles on certain roads. Sounds like near the passenger airbag. It comes and goes but I eventually gave up
@@beneitzel7485
I’m currently trying to fight off this rattle it is so f’ing annoying
If I bought used, I'll use crowbar to open it and make it easier to open.
Cool, thanks...
Same with a tesla
lol crazy
Thank you señor 🫡
