  • In September 2018, Robbie Shone joined a Russian expedition to explore and capture imagery of Veryovkina, the deepest cave on Earth. After being underground for seven days, a flood pulse hit the cave, causing a rapid escape attempt from the impending disaster.

Yeah, caves are not my thing. Probably the reason I do so few of those stories. Plus, there's a plethora of channels that cover these stories. It's not that I'm claustrophobic. It's just so unpredictable. And the creepy crawlers inside them don't help.

Hahaha..when I bought my first home in 1990 the home owners showd me that there was a trap door under the front walk-in closet carpet that opened to the galleys!!! I was not impressed cause it was literally 4 feet deep all on rocks and sand..they said it was their wine cellar and they'd leave us a bottle to celebrate once we moved in..damn liars..I went all the way down there and never found a single bottle !!

I'm proud of this creator. Watching his channel grow as he really thought about what he wanted to achieve with this channel and he went ahead and built it up, painstakingly balancing the tragic story with a lesson to be learned from it. Don't know, strange sense of pride in him, although I do not know him 😂🤗

He is awesome. I have had a few conversations with him, and he really seems like a well grounded person. He does all this by himself. All the research, interview content, pic/vids, script, all of it. The research alone isn't easy. It's hard to find first hand accounts of news worthy adventures that haven't been covered to death by 10 different channels. My hats off to his skills and writing ability. Something about the way his stories flow. Very well written. Well researched.

I have to admit, most of the caving disasters covered on this channel leave me thinking that the risks aren't worth it to crawl around in a cold, muddy hole in the ground. This one at least seemed to be very spectacular and possibly worth the risks. Fortunately for me, taking on the challenge is so far beyond my physical capabilities that it would be impossible for me to be tempted.

These human beings stayed calm during an extremely desperate and distressing situation. They are an example of people who would get out of the way of the flaming wreck that was being hurled at them instead of being mesmerized and paralyzed. Excellent story.

@@outdoordisasters thank YOU! Just to expand upon my comment, so you understand my appreciation for your channel right now…I am currently on the transplant list in the central region of the US, waiting on a heart transplant, and until it’s my turn I have something called an LVAD that’s keeping me alive. It is a bulky, heavy internal heart pump with a huge cord that comes out of the side of my abdomen and plugs into a backpack of sorts that holds its external batteries.
While I’m thankful to be alive, and thankful for the years this machine will keep me alive, so I can make it to a new heart…this thing absolutely suuuuucks, lol. And it makes a lot of daily activities really difficult, most especially trying to sleep. Something about being in a quiet room, and being able to hear this machine beep and turn inside my body is just…not conducive to being able to rest.
I tried white noise machines, and gentle music - it just didn’t help, I could still hear the sound of the LVAD and worse still was that my brain just would not ‘shut off’ like I needed it to, to be able to rest.
I originally found your channel watching other short disaster documentaries because I found that they kept me distracted from thinking too much about medical stuff…for one, it’s oddly soothing to hear about terrible problems that have absolutely nothing to do with me or anything I am experiencing (or likely ever will) and for two I find that the constant stream of outside information, that isn’t about CHF or transplants, helps keep my brain from dwelling on any of the struggles I am going thru right now. It keeps my brain busy and that’s immensely needed right now. I really do listen to stuff like this just about all day every day to keep my mind busy.
Also it turns out that besides being a good, interesting distraction, your calm and even tone of voice are the ticket to me being able to get good rest! I’ve been listening to your channel on an endless loop for a few weeks now, and it’s just the best - I’m able to rest / and not because it’s boring content either! Quite the opposite - if I do wake up in the middle of the night, I have something interesting to listen to, to keep my mind from wandering, and I find I’m able to fall right back asleep.
All that to say: I was originally going to comment that I listened to your channel every night to fall asleep, lol, but I realized that might come across as me saying you were boring. Quite the opposite in fact.
I can’t imagine how much time and effort you put into your channel, but it’s hugely enjoyed and appreciated right now, for reasons big and small, by a lot of people.
Keep up the awesome work! I can’t wait to celebrate when you hit a millions subs, and I have a new ticker…it’s gonna be great!
Many thanks from Kansas, USA 🇺🇸

@@gabriellawless2202 Your comment has touched me like no other. You will be in my prayers that you'll receive a healthy heart very soon! I can't imagine what you're going through. But from what I can read, I can tell you're a fighter and you have such a positive outlook on an ordeal which would make most people unravel. It brings me much joy to know that the little I can do to relieve and/or distract from all you're going through. It's people like you that give me the passion for continuing to produce these stories. You are so amazing and you'll be in my prayers going forward. Keep the positive outlook because, from my experience, it's the mindset that keeps you going. I'm truly humbled by your words, and reinforces the responsibility I have to make quality content. Time is precious, and I don't want to waste anyone time with low quality productions. Thank you so much for taking the time to enjoy these videos. And I will continue to produce the content that you have come to love. Stay strong, the world needs people like you in it!🙏❤
