    I completely agree with you on securing your camper! The more deterrents the better! On my own trailer I'm building I made the chains so I can easily remove them while I'm parked. I'm also going to fabricate a tongue lock and thinking about installing a hidden GPS tracker so that if all my other deterrents fail I might be able to recover my trailer. Honestly my biggest hope is they look and figure it's not worth the hassle and move on. Love all the upgrades you've added!

    Just saw your video on security, I,ve also got a similar wheel lock + it does the job. For the dissel ( towing hook) I had an old cast iron (slot) I think in english it means lock?? off my last caravan. I took it to a smith + got him to make me a conversion. If you can imagine a metal box that you slide on over the hook with a piece cut out so that it goes past the piece that sticks up, I asked him to make a bar that slid into metal "holding "slots + I secured it with a granite lock via the hole at the end. I,ve had that on 2 trailer tents + now 2 caravans + never had a problem. On my last caravan I wanted security for the windows + found a German who made guaranteed theft + thief proof security. A camper owner had it fitted + drove down to Spain + parked his camper in a side street for the day, when he came back he found signs of attempted break in but the thieves never got past the security + I thought you can,t get any better advertisement than that + had mine done. Can,t remember the name but it,s somewhere on you tube. Roy.

    Hey man great video! We feel the same way about the security of our camper! We put all our blood, sweat and tears into this build, so when it came to finding the right security devise we were very discerning! We searched high and low for the best lock we could find with no avail. So at the end of the day we knew it was up to us to keep honest people honest and we made our own lol!

      Exactly! Too much work in this thing to just hand it over to a thief without at least trying to secure it.

    Some years back I came back to camp to find my foldout camp trailer packed away and drag marks from a attempt to tow it away I had made a steel rod that fitted through the wheel rims on both sides preventing wheel thefts and the wheels turning more than a half turn these days with a quality of battery powered grinders its getting more difficult to stop a determined thief but make it hard enough they go elsewhere regards mike

    I am so enjoying myselg catching up on the marvelous work you have and are doing. Love the upgrades to your camp EZ and please, keep securing your camper. I so love the south and country living. Born and Raised in Alabama and truly miss living in tbe country. Loved the tour of the Mennonite farms and store. Nothing like spring water. I buy it bottled, purified doesn't vet it. I wonder if a Berkey Water Filtration is tasteless as well. Prefer as natural as I can get. Thank you and your wife for sharing.

    Another great video! We always look forward to them.
    The mennonite stores are wonderful. We stopped at one while we were in the Finger Lakes Region named, Sauders. They had the same bagged food items... from organic dried beans to mini-chocolate chips! We could have spent hours there!
    Clean delicious water is hard to come by... Glad you have a place to fill up. We sometimes get water at a local water company... they have a well and the water tastes so pure (at least I hope it is =) They charge 25 cents a gallon...
    We also use our iPad to watch a movie on a rainy night. The fireplace video is a great idea! I need the screen to be close because of my vision (both distance and reading) We never use the TV that came with our camper and Chris actually removed the fuse so the slow bleed on the battery would stop.
    I love the door handle idea. We need to do the same!
    Thanks for all the great info and for taking us around Tennessee... What a beautiful state you and Joann live in...
    Many blessings ~ Maria.

      Hey there! It’s good to hear from you. Jo Ann has been teasing me about the fake fireplace, but I look forward to using it. I’ll bet she loves it!
      That water gushes out of the ground, even during a drought. It’s so good too!
      We love those bulk goods stores. They always have terrific yummies!
      Be well!

    I agree on the theft protection. Anything, that is an impediment to theft helps. As long as you are not the easiest target, you will be less likely to be the target. Defense in depth!

    I love going into those old time stores. I enjoy the leather shop area too, and I wish I could find a candle that smelled like that. It's like being in a tack room in the barn. I can't beleive you shared a pastry? I afaid I would haxe to buy a couple for the road trip!!! Your trailer is getting fined tuned beautifully. The small things that making it feel like home!!! Good video, w.w.

    We share the same motto about security…make it harder than the reward and the theif will most likely roll on to the next one. Loving the weather monitor, may have to check one of those out for our tear. Also, the area that we live in actually gets our city water from an artesian well. Our city water system has been ranked as one of the most pure and cheapest public utility in the State of Alabama for many years. We have several artesian wells scattered througout our little town that have played a big part of the history of our little town. Enjoyed the video and thanks for the information! We’realways looking for ways to improve our camping trips. We come home with new ideas from every trip.

    • @CampandCamera
      @CampandCamera  5 лет назад +1

      A well strong enough to supply a town is quite a well! That’s pretty cool! I’ll bet you could make some great coffee with just sink water then. I think the temp/humidity gauge is gonna be very helpful on our trips. Happy Camping!!!

    I thought about switching the standard coupler to a lunette ring, and getting the lock that goes inside it. Right now I just have a hitch lock and lock on the coupler. One thing I'd suggest with the wheel lock is to have locking lug nuts, so they don't take off the lock and wheel. Anyway another great video, I just found your channel again. I watched a video of you doing tours of people's teardrop trailers a year or so ago.

    • @CampandCamera

    I don't know if its just me but I worry more about my teardrop than I did with any of my other campers especially boondocking . I don't know if its like you said the blood sweat and tears from building it myself or paranoia. I use 2 big cable locks one on each wheels and run it around the axle so they can't take the wheels and I lock my safety chains to the hitch with a long shank pad lock. My philosophy is the more detergents you have the better. I know all of them can be cut or broke but it takes time and that is not what thieves have.

    • @CampandCamera
      @CampandCamera  5 лет назад

      I couldn’t agree more. Yeah, a thief can technically steal anything, but I think if you may it enough work, they’ll drive on by.

    • @CampandCamera
      @CampandCamera  5 лет назад

      Absolutely! 127 North, then 52 East. About a half mile past the 4 way intersection and Grocery store in Allardt, a road veers off to the left just as the highway takes a sharp right-hand turn. The spring is only 1/4 mile or so on the left down that road. The spring is down a short path behind a fence.
