1. Boogie Woogie 2. Call Me if You CAn-Can 3. Answering Machine Zone 4. 50's 5. Bogey 6. The Rap 7. Beethovens Fifth recorded both sides for preservation's sake
Now I finally get to hear what these sound like in their entirety. I heard the ad so many times. I'm going to set the Beethoven one as my outgoing voicemail message
The Beethoven message was used on one of the early season Simpsons episodes when Homer was trying to call his drinking buddy Barney. Homer then goes on a tirade upon hearing this.
@@plateshutoverlock that's brilliant! I've seen a lot of The Simpsons, but I've never watched it with any regularity so I probably only seen a fraction of the episodes. There's a few times Sarah Silverman has referenced this, and when nobody laughs makes a comment about how the audience must be too young.
Omgosh, we bought this cassette in the mid - late 80’s (I think)! I was just singing some of these to a co-worker and thought I’d see if anyone had this on RUclips. SO COOL! Things have changed so much!! 😂
This commercial and Pure Moods are ones that I will never forget! I begged my parents to get this but they said absolutely not. That they had important people calling them and this would be so tacky. I was angry for months! 😂😂😂😂
I found this by accident and I think I might need to record one of these as my outgoing message on my cell phone. I got my first phone and created my outgoing voicemail message when I was 12 and I really need to change it because it’s starting to sound like baby voice.
I'm glad you called but I'm not home, but I'll be back before too long. You gotta speak your stuff and your number, too, and this is all you gotta do. Wait for the beep! You gotta leave your name, you gotta leave your number. Wait for the beep! You gotta leave it at the beep! -lyrics to the rap
I wonder how many houses were robbed after hearing the fact that "nobody's home" -- this was before everyone started saying "we can't come to the phone" instead of announcing that the house was empty! haha
The production values aren't that high. Generic instrumental Doo-wop and Classical stock music tracks, a couple voice actors who did only a hour or two of takes at most. I don't think the company even expected to make much off this particular product and they had many other more profitable ventures going on. This was just a way for them to get some extra pocket change.
Each side had the same messages. A lot of these releases only had messages on one side of the tape. I figure duplicating the messages helped ensure that if one part of the tape went wonky, you still had a chance of using the message. The *real* ripoffs were the Circuit Breakers series, which had one 15-second message per cassette!
@@rogeliolopez2190 Sure! And if you have recommendations for any that would be an improvement over what I've got, let me know! I may be the only guy with an eye for curation/preservation of these things, and time is running out.
@@CaseyRoberson Well, if you want to use new equipment just stay with what you have. this is because there is this one Chinese company that still makes cassette deck mechanisms and practically every cassette player made today has one so the difference isn't really going to be noticeable. However if you don't mind picking up used equipment from say eBay and repair it (That is what i personally did with my pioneer CT-1160R) or get some one to repair it for you, you can get even better results! But if you are happy with your equipment I would recommend you stay with it (repair cassette decks can go anywhere from replacing rubber belts or as far as changing every capacitor!). If you do want to go with vintage equipment for better sound I would recommend you something like a pioneer CT-W616DR. Not because i'm a pioneer fanboy ( I kinda am) but because this deck and a bunch of others from there line had a proprietary technology that they made called digital noise reduction. Not Dolby noise reduction but digital noise reduction. what it did was it would process the the analog sound and digitally improve it and then output back through analog( this video shows one in action ruclips.net/video/v14AEKgX29U/видео.html ) Well those were my two cents, hope you found this info useful!

Bogey was the only one that didn’t play on that commercial.
Nobody's home! Nobody's home..... The sound of nostalgia.
Barnie Gamble's answering message on the Simpsons :)))
Now I need to figure out how to use that with my voicemail app. 😁😁
I always loved the rap, I'm glad you called but I'm not home but I'll be back before too long 😅😅😅❤
I remember the commercial back in the day! WAIT...FOR....THE BEEP!
2:37, that beautiful Rap.

My childhood!!!! Omg😢
I just found one of these in a bag full of country tapes today. Keepin it.
Wait for the beep is still my favorite rap song of all time
I Listened to This tape over and over when I was about 7. I even made up dances lol! It was recently mentioned in Ted Lasso.

@Sheels1976 So sorry to hear that Sheels1976 I actually own this and the Pure Moods CD buried somewhere in my music collection LOL!
They recently quoted this on Ted Lasso and it took me back!!!! How did I remember so many of these? #tedlasso you RULE
I wonder if any thought of making a " ring tone " collection similar to this ?
BEETHOVEN ; "🎼🎵 ANSWER THE PHONE... ANSWER THE PHONE...🎶"
love this acutaly
They gotta make this into an app
Omg I'm using this for my voicemail!
I loved these as a kid 🤓
That rap is tight though.
Thanks for posting this...
2:42 - Best
just think, this was 15 bucks plus 3 bucks shipping in 1980s money. That's like paying 51 bucks for it in 2023.
You can just Venmo it to me
@@CaseyRoberson if I'm ever rich and powerful, you will be properly rewarded. Until then, all i can offer you is my sincerest thanks.
my voicemail is now The Rap
I have a copy of this tape and used the rap as my message.

you gotta leave your number.

You gotta leave it at the beep!

Anyone else here after a good ole fashioned 80’s reference on Ted Lasso? “Wait for the beep!”
I can't believe this cost $14.95 back in, what, 1987?
I'm fine if you only pay me $10
@@CaseyRoberson yeah, um, not happening.
Bro ngl this shit goes hard
$14.95…. This was fourteen dollars and ninety five cents.
Is this on iTunes yet?
It would be quicker for you to check iTunes than to ask here.
classic
2:38 is where it's at XD
That's my favorite part 6:08-6:30
I wonder how much the company that produced this made off this product.
$14,234.72

Did the tape repeat like that? That would feel like quite a rip off. :-\

Rap is crap, but I seriously dig "WAIT. FOR. THE. BEEP."
just curious but... what cassette deck did you use?
I'm using an Ion Tape Express. Why do you ask?
@@CaseyRoberson Just curious. I don't know why but I always like knowing the playback device. Well thanks anyways!
