This box is MOSTLY finished! I just need to add the top trim pieces (probably tomorrow) and then hook it up to my test bench (not necessarily in that order). Tuning was lower than I expected at just around 21hz which is actually not a bad thing for home audio/home theater. I hope it sounds good, i think it will! Check back for the bench testing video coming soon. If it does what i think it will, we will for sure build box number 2 and then bring both home. They will be powered by a 1000 watt Audiocontrol home amp (2 of them, one for each sub). Stay tuned! Thanks again to Gately Audio and crew!

Just that white sub "surround" on the out side is jumping out to much. Having that in black to match the box, would look so good.

Just Realised its 4 home Theater. I have Crack the dry wall in my house with a 8 inch sub at only 300w. In a 20ft x20ft Room. And it's only the Ceiling which is dry wall. The rest is solid concrete And Bricks. So looking forward 2 this one. Got me on the edge of my seat.

When I went to your shop and saw these in person, I had no idea what would come in the future. This just blew every picture I had in my head. Just getting better and better projects. That is why I buy smd products, we can watch from design to ordered product all right here and know we are paying for top notch quality. Love your work Steve, keep it up and I will keep buying from you, and one day maybe be able to afford some gately love too.

In 1062 when I was a DJ and into music. I built this exact system. Large and heavy but filled each room that I took it to. I learned then the encloser is just as important as the speaker. Mine did not have the lights.

That's crazy. When you said he wanted to do something on the bracing, that is the exact design I had in my head, with it tucking in to the sub. so tight it blends in well.

Freaking gorgeous box man. If my 15" sub and box design for my old Excursion sounds great in my living room using an old pioneer home receiver sounds loud and clean I can only imagine how this custom design will sound in your house 🔥🔥

meade... your an amazing installer... hell of a fabricator .... design some of the best equipment in car audio to date... but build amazing terminal cups in the usa.... and use metric hardware.... again... 100 percent respect for everything you do... design and build....
it isn't metric hardware. Those bolts are 5/16-18 which is not metric. Not that it matters to me at all, it could have went either way when i first designed it. That is just a typical size we use at the shop for fuse blocks etc... But thanks!
@meade916 ohhh my bad.. again you do amazing work and design some great things to help out the car audio community... I guess I assumed they were metric since a metric wrench was used to tighten it....
@@thomasstott527 if i have a bolt with a 1/2" head on it, a 13 will always work just as well. Not sure if you are aware of that. Thanks again though.

been playing with it. It's obnoxiously loud in my shop. I have a few more things to do to it and then i can play with it more. The landlord is probably getting pissed off by now so i need to take a break and jump back on it during the weekend when nobody is there.

Got that back to the future vibes from it.
Took the same amount of guys to load mine in my jeep lol. It sucks. We took it out and put it back in many times before we got it running. If I fill the tank the rear sits about ¼" lower in the back. It's even got heavy duty coils on it. November I'm going to start building my Escalade.

I tend to like in-detail build videos like this, as it gives you inspiration or ideas. So come time I build a box, I have a direction/idea to go with terminal designs to run through my own CNC router / fiber-laser cutter. Makes you go "Ah that's a neat idea, Gona do something similar but altered for my use!"
Mind you, I'm not a company. I'm just a hobbiest who owns machinery for my own good xD The box looks great though!!
