Molly, thank you for doing such an important public service by educating us on the exact content of Project 2025 and saving me the tough slog in actually having to comb through the entire 900+ pages. It is so clear to me that this Project 2025 agenda is full of extremist policies...some could never gain widespread support, but others seem to be already part of the Republican agenda. It was such a telling moment for me when even former President Trump decided to distance himself from Project 2025...who, what, I have no idea what that is - LOL! I truly hope that now that we have seen the danger of electing Trump in 2016 which resulted in the appointment of three extremist Supreme Court Justices who helped to topple Roe v. Wade, voters are now "woke" to the fact that every vote counts. I sat out the 2016 election, because I was not feeling well enough to drag myself to the polls on election day. I did not care for Hillary Clinton, but I truly thought her win was a simple lay-up. This Pennsylvanian voter learned her lesson the hard way. I am now planning to vote by mail to ensure that my vote will be counted in my crucial swing-state. Voting by mail in Pennsylvania is such an easy process. My favorite part is that I can track my ballot on-line to ensure it has been received well before election day. I encourage everyone who is able to vote by mail in their particular state to give the process a try, especially those in states who often encounter unbearably long waits in line. Counting the days until November when I hope our nightmare will end, we can put Mr. Trump in our rearview mirror and in a defense chair in several courtrooms!

Can Senator Whitehouse please become the new head of the DOJ? I think he is acutely aware of the things not being handled currently.

I agree with the others saying Project 2025 must be stopped. However, it will likely never stop until there are consequences for those that are destroying our democracy and nation. I do not know what those conseqences should be though.

The power and authority was the "Rule of the King". The founding fathers disposed of the Rule of the King with the Declaration of Independence. They replaced the Rule of the King with "The Rule of Law" with the Constitution and the power and authority was granted to the government by the people, NOT God.
The thing is, the Rule of Law requires that no one can be above the law. If someone is immune from the rule of law then that person is by definition above the law and the rule of law no longer exists.
The people consent to the rule of law and grant the government a monopoly on violence* so that it can enforce the law. The people may** revoke their consent to be governed if they disagree with how the government is being run or who is running the government. With the revocation of consent the monopoly on violence is also revoked***.
When a King died and was replaced with a new King people said, "The King is dead. Long live the King." This meaning the old king has died, may the new king live a long time. SCOTUS has effectively said, "The Rule of Law (or simply the Law) is dead. Long live the President." Dark days ahead. MAGA has already revoked their consent to be governed by Democrats. It is why they say that Trump is still the President and that Biden running the country is ruining things. They acknowledge that Biden is the U.S. President, but the also say that Trump is their President. Almost like their are two governments in control of the same area. The actual Constitutional government and a separate government that is run by Trump.

Molly, thank you for doing such an important public service by educating us on the exact content of Project 2025 and saving me the tough slog in actually having to comb through the entire 900+ pages. It is so clear to me that this Project 2025 agenda is full of extremist policies...some could never gain widespread support, but others seem to be already part of the Republican agenda. It was such a telling moment for me when even former President Trump decided to distance himself from Project 2025...who, what, I have no idea what that is - LOL! I truly hope that now that we have seen the danger of electing Trump in 2016 which resulted in the appointment of three extremist Supreme Court Justices who helped to topple Roe v. Wade, voters are now "woke" to the fact that every vote counts. I sat out the 2016 election, because I was not feeling well enough to drag myself to the polls on election day. I did not care for Hillary Clinton, but I truly thought her win was a simple lay-up. This Pennsylvanian voter learned her lesson the hard way. I am now planning to vote by mail to ensure that my vote will be counted in my crucial swing-state. Voting by mail in Pennsylvania is such an easy process. My favorite part is that I can track my ballot on-line to ensure it has been received well before election day. I encourage everyone who is able to vote by mail in their particular state to give the process a try, especially those in states who often encounter unbearably long waits in line. Counting the days until November when I hope our nightmare will end, we can put Mr. Trump in our rearview mirror and in a defense chair in several courtrooms!
