It would be really cool if you could play this game in an app entirely digitally, and just get a whole deck printed once you've upgraded it, collected foil tokens etc. for in in-person tournament or as a memento.
What's stopping you from printing multiple copies of a card? Seems like you could print 100 copies of a rare card sell/give them away, and they won't be rare anymore. I suppose tournaments wouldn't let you have 2 of the same card; but for casual play if you want 4 of a card you don't have to hunt/buy them, you can just print them. Which I guess you could always do anyway, they will just be good quality this way. Sorry, thinking as I type. Anyway.... Thoughts?
You can only print a single copy, and when it comes to official play you need 3 actual copies. Not the same card copied three times. Only 3 cards of the same name regardless of the rarity per deck. So you can't mass produce cards. On the app you can trade the digital ownership to someone else.
From what I understand nothing is stopping you, but since they're not valid cards they won't be allowed in tournaments. My understanding is they'll have a deck validator linked to the digital app where judges can easily validated the ownership of cards if an issue arises. as for casual play, people play with proxy cards all the time in other games, so I see no issue there. Either way my wife and I are really enjoying this game! hopefully it takes off a bit
Exactly right. If you only care about casual play at your kitchen table, then you can just print extra copies of your own cards so you have enough for a playset or if you want to have copies of that card in multiple decks you have. You can also just sell all the actual digital rights to your collection and still keep all your paper cards to continue to play casual, while still monetizing your rare/unique pulls To note you also need to have digital ownership in order to play on their official digital client
@@devinhood6435 so do we know if the system will allow you to print multiple copies of the same card, just not use it in the tournament? Or will it only allow you print 1x copy of any card you own?

The game is playable on BGA ;) (or will be soon enough)

@@StankispoorAltered as with Flesh and Blood can carve out a niche. The strength of Altered is the board game feel vs. the skirmishing of other tcgs.
