    I am so glad I found this video... this setup is the same as a Craftex CX509N. I was at my wits end with this thing... no instructions on how to change the paper! Awesome video

      Hey there! I've passed on your video suggestion to our team, we love getting feedback on what kind of videos we should be putting out! As for the price of that part, pricing and availability for all parts of this machine can be found and ordered from www.grizzly.com/products/g0458z/parts - I hope that helps!

    how doers this sander do on cabinet doors (primarily simple shakers) and how many will it do before needing changing. i know you cant give an exact figure but will it greatly add to my cost of production? (I may be doing thousands of these) I mat get 2 so I can use one for leveling the doors and one for fine sanding, if they will work well for this purpose.

    My manual says to cut the angle at 12” down, which is correct? I also had the spring get dislodged but spent a few hours getting it fixed back up by removing the drum.

      Hello! We recommend always trying to use a previous-used piece of sandpaper as a template, if it offered the perfect fit for you. If creating a new cut is needed, follow the cut diagram in this video step-by-step, then install the paper. Measurements provided in the video offer a great fit for the G0458Z sanding drum, though some users do like to cut the sandpaper a little longer (with the same angle cuts shows at 3:00 in the video), and then work through steps to bring the paper down to an exact size that way. Either way, always ensure you twist the drum to engage the spring-loaded tension to get the best results. Hope that helps!

    I just bought the 458z. when i cut the 3 in tape to length it is longer than it needs to be on my right side by about a full rotation of the drum. what am i doing wrong?

    • @grizzlymachines
      @grizzlymachines  2 года назад

      Hi there! If the belt is over-rotating on the drum, there is a strong likelihood that the measurements on the sandpaper roll, as called out at the 2:49 mark in the video, might have been pulled from the short point-to-short point, which could be the cause of the excessively-long sandpaper. If the overall paper is cut to 86" point-to-point, and the angles are added as shown in the video (plus, be sure to rotate the spring-loaded drum!), you should be good to go! Hope that helps!

    can you use sandpaper with adhesive on the back?

    • @grizzlymachines
      @grizzlymachines  2 года назад

      Hi Dan! Yes you can use sandpaper with adhesive on the back. It's just a bit difficult to get lined up correctly so it will wind on the drum properly.
