- Alex travels to the UK to meet up with DRIVE co-host Chris Harris. As it turns out, DRIVE's most popular host alongside it's most controversial one get along famously as Chris shows off a bit of his homeland's best driving roads in a Renault Clio RS 200 Cup and a Porsche GT3 3.8.

This is brilliant, it shows Alex and Chris different personality, yet they can just talk and talk. Cause deepdown, we're car enthusiasts.
Two guys who are not only journalists but genuine car fans - gotta love them - doesn't mean I have to agree with them but you gotta love the passion, the desire to express an opinion and convey their perspective on motoring.

I live only few miles from this location and drive this awsum road all the time, hopefully one day i will see Chris Harris filming there one day as I love watching his you tube channel.

I love Chris. such a talented guy. AND, he built arguably the most desirable car Iv ever laid eyes on. The 1971 green 911 ST he spent 2 years on. Just a brilliant Porsche. Chris rulz!

Superb. The combo of culture, taste and crossed-up banter I hoped would materialise. What joy.
Don't know if this has been mentioned but if anyone is interested the road they're driving is the B4560 between Llangynidr & Garnlydan. It's been used by Top Gear several times in the past (CLK Black most recently iirc), and memorably Tiff Needell absolutely caning a TVR back in the 90's, plus by various car mags over the years too. Great road but, after a very close call a few years back, I can confirm Alex is right to be concerned about the sheep running out!!!

I literally could not have put it better myself, that comment was quite the literary wonderment I must say! And yes, I'd like to think of Mr Harris as somewhat of an idol. I too have a particular affiliation with doing skids on some of the fantastic roads Wales has to offer..
Chris Harris is a (worshipful) dude who happens to live in Wales. I put it to you welshdude6669 sir, that you and Chris Harris are one and the same! But regardless, you are absolutely correct. Chris Harris is the bee's knees, the dog's bollocks, the cat's pajamas, the hamster's Malteser-stuffed cheek pouches and the budgerigar's pocket-watch rolled into one animal-kingdom-esque collection of awesome and peerless skill. I have been watching Drive from the beginning and have my favorites, Chris being the main one. Alex has occasionally rubbed me the wrong way, because he's in-your-face and sometimes a bit abrasive. However, I really enjoyed this video and could absolutely see myself BSing with him about cars and life, & I've always found him a charismatic dude with a ton of fascinating stories to tell. I'm looking forward to the next two parts of this series and will go back to some of his other eps as well.

I'm I the only one who happens to think Alex is golden? The guy's humor is hillarious if you pay attention and his delivery is even better because he can keep a straight face. He makes up history and tells it so convincingly you believe him if you don't know your shit. I love you Alex, keep up the good work. One of my favorite shows.

I think most of the people that hate Alex don't pick up his humour, he is a genuinely funny fella.
We also have the Mazda Speed3 here in the US. That's a fun, affordable hot hatch. Looks pretty good when cruising down the road as well.
This type of video wouldn't work with many reviews but with Chris and Alex its very entertaining
It does indeed, one of my favourite roads in the world is that from Llangynog to Bala, having recently purchased an E46 clubsport upon finishing university, I enjoyed that very road far too much last weekend!
Quality video. I recognise the road but while I'm like a walking road atlas for North Wales, my knowledge of South Wales has gaps. What roads are on the video?
My best mate has a 200 exactly the same colour, wheels and interior as in the video. It looks amazing! It's very different to my old 182 - the power delivery feels very linear for a start - and it's a just a joy to drive.

This would be a lifelong dream of mine to meet Harris and go for a chat and drive.
The music throughout the intro and buildup to 0:47 was very pleasant.
It is either the B4560 or the B4558 roads that run near Crickhowell, Chris has done a video from there before. I do recognise it myself as I've driven on it but I'm not 100% sure. But I'm fairly sure it's one of the roads on the 'Llangynidr Moors'. Such a beautiful part of Wales..I was born in Ebbw Vale myself. :)

OMFG. I FORGOT COMPLETELY ABOUT ALEX ROY. I have had the honor of meeting him in person, and purchasing his book and having him sign it.
but it was good to watch the video. I have also loved cars since I was a child, but unfortunately I'm not on Drive... but I do still own a 205 GTI. The way you and Chris were talking about cars reminded me of me and my mates so all good stuff.

I agree. I think Jeremy Clarkson is the 'God Father' of the modern tv car show but Chris Harris is every bit my current favorite along with Jonny Leiberman from Motortrend who runs him a very close second. Jonny's very easy to listen to, knowledgable and his passion for cars really comes across. With Top Gear I think their predudice for anything that does not come from Europe is now starting to border on racist, and this I think prevents them from being truly objective.
I'll admit I am a Chris Harris acolyte, but just hearing Alex converse with Chris made me like Alex more.

Alex and Chris really make an interesting two-person show. Alex, the somewhat arrogant, not-so intelligent, bling-over-performance car guy. Chris, the true car enthusiast and his own strong opinions. They can only go back and forth on a discussion because neither thinks the other is ever right. It's great!

Here I the U.S, we have lots of cars like the Renault Clio rs thing, for example, the Mazda speed 3, GTI, mini John cooper works, frs/brz, some miatas, ...
I like both Chris and Alex, but please please can we have better audio? I struggled to hear parts of what they were saying, constantly turning my volume up and down. Keep up the good work though!

I hope Chris Harris is on Top Gear, he's so interesting in what he says, his opinions etc. If he does go to Top Gear though, I hope he continues with his long in depth chilled out videos.

Harris is the king of car reviewers hands down.
Massive fan of top gear and nice to hear chris talkin' those guys up, but i hope he realises he is THE motoring journalist out there at the moment. Knowledgeable, talented, easy to listen to (and read back in the day) and im glad he is on here regularly. Top gear is great entertainment, but it's not a motoring journalism show anymore, not really. It's an entertainment show. For in depth, insightful and interesting car reviews/videos, you can beat Chris and his work or the Drive network atm.
The E24 is the original 6 series, I believe Alex meant to say E28 M5.

It took Chris Harris in one of Alex's shows to make me watch him the whole way through. It confirmed to me why I never make it through one of his shows.
