The singer has taken the song to the level which it deserves. Further, the singer is a matured artist who knows his voice. Knowing ones own voice is not as simple as it sounds. It takes decades to know and develop one’s voice. This artist knows his voice, not once he tried to be the inimitable RafiSahab and yet at all times he did justice to the song. The guitar is doing an unimaginable job. To understand what is doing we need to Visit the master arranger Kersi Lord. He said on an interview available on RUclips “this is my best work.” The man who is responsible for thousands of songs believes it to be his best and that has to be rearranged with just a guitar? One would say no way. Yet the guitar and its Master delivered here. The countermelody represented by dmin Ebflat in such a strategic point in the song. Using a Phrygian flavour when the Dorian tone is not yet settled in the listeners mind as a countermelody is just too much an attempt at modernity, probably the composer gave full freedom to the arranger here And it is showing. So just a guitar capturing the whole essence here is a work of a genius. Now the song takes another route this time around 1min 2min 3bmaj 4maj 5min 6bmaj. Then moves around the Aminor to F as if making the whole piece move to a Aminor. The singer has taken the song to the level which it deserves. Further, the singer is a matured artist who knows his voice. Knowing ones own voice is not as simple as it sounds. It takes decades to know and develop one’s voice. This artist knows his voice, not once he tried to be the inimitable RafiSahab and yet at all times he did justice to the song.
The guitar is doing an unimaginable job. To understand what is doing we need to Visit the master arranger Kersi Lord. He said on an interview available on RUclips “this is my best work.” The man who is responsible for thousands of songs believes it to be his best and that has to be rearranged with just a guitar? One would say no way. Yet the guitar and its Master delivered here. The countermelody represented by dmin Ebflat in such a strategic point in the song. Using a Phrygian flavour when the Dorian tone is not yet settled in the listeners mind as a countermelody is just too much an attempt at modernity, probably the composer gave full freedom to the arranger here And it is showing.
So just a guitar capturing the whole essence here is a work of a genius. Hats of to my Master. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥👏👏👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏🙏
The song went into Harmonic minor territory in the harmony and with a bang as if making a statement again. Madanmohan would have been in flutters in all those 4hrs-the amount of time this song took to be completed. As mentioned in the said interview.
Now the song takes another route this time around 1min 2min 3bmaj 4maj 5min 6bmaj.
Then moves around the Aminor to F as if making the whole piece move to a Aminor.
Then it rocks in again to pep things up. These are some half a dozen songs packed as one. The end result a masterpiece.

i won't take full credit for decoding all the chords, had played this in a huge orchestra many years ago (around 30 musicians) with some guru arrangers, i played by ear even then, but picked up a lot from them as we had to match chords across the board, galat chord bajaane se danda padta tha! wish i had taken note and saved chord shorts from those shows where we did so many golden classics.
dhiraj is a unique and extremely versatile singer. as you have pointed out, he maintains the feel of the original song while keep his own originality. he has done lessons for almost every singer you can think of - rafi saab, kishore da, manna da, hemant da, jagjit saab, yesudas ji, sp sir, bhupinder jj, san da ....only ones left are perhaps mukesh ji, sonu ji, udit ji - woh bhe ek din kar lenge! check out this playlist of all the song lessons with him on the channnel.
