- Hair dye allergy can affect anyone, sometimes starting many years after it was first applied. The most common allergen is paraphenylene diamine (PPD); however, numerous other ingredients could also cause a reaction. In this video, we look at the various hair dyes that exclude specific allergens. Natural hair dyes, which do not have the main hair dyes and are less likely to cause allergies, are also reviewed.

Thank you so much, I was just watching your older video . I am considering Elumen the dark brown color (NN series which cover greys), I am worried. Do you know if MI or toluene is in Elumen ? 🙏
Glad the information was helpful! Looking at the ingredients, ir does not contain most of the "usual suspects" that cause allergies. MI and toluene is not listed. As mentioned in the video, there is no hair dye that is 100% safe!
@@DiscoverDermatology ok thank you Sir.
😊
Oh thank god a doctor has addressed this!!
Hope it had some helpful information.
Excellent video 💕
Thanks for your kind comment, glad it was helpful!
Doctor, what about Wella Koleston ME+. It is PPD and PTD free.
Thats a very good point! It contains a methoxymethyl modification of PPD which is supposed to be less allergenic. In fact, I was planning to do a video on it soon, so watch out for it!
Sir is Ayu Hina safe to use? I have been using L’Oréal root touch up and excellence crème and got skin allergy patch also the white hair had tripled. Can please help whether ayu hina is free of ammonia, ppd, tsd or any harsh chemicals. Looking forward for your advise, thank you 😊
I have looked at the ingredient list of Anu Hina from information online and this included
Ingredients of AYUHINA are as follows:
HEENA, Amla (Emblica Officinalis)
Brahmi (Bacopa Monniera)
Bhring Raj (Elcipta Alba)
Shikakai (Acacia Cancinna)
Neem (Azadirachta Indica)
Reetha Powder (Soapnut)
Tulsi (Ocimum Sanctum).
This does not contain any commonly known allergens so it would be worthwhile trying.

I have hair dye allergy n even when i am using herbs like henna, amla, jatamasi hibiscus shikakai etc that also creates itching n irritation on my scalp is there any safe way to cover grey hair pls share
These dyes mentioned above are the safest for those Wirth hair dye allergies. Considering them one by one may be the best option as we sometimes may have no reaction with one of them.
Well appreciated! 🏋🏋
Glad it was helpful!
I have looked up Elumen ingredients, do you see any allergens ? Thank you
Ingredients
Aqua (water)
Propylene carbonate
Alcohol denat
Lactic acid
Peg-9 Dimethicone
Xanthan gum
Sodium hydroxide
Parfum (fragrance)
Without oxidation, ammonia-free
Glad the information was helpful! Looking at the ingredients, ir does not contain most of the "usual suspects" that cause allergies. MI and toluene is not listed. As mentioned in the video, there is no hair dye that is 100% safe!
Tell me about revlon
Im afraid I do have any specific information on specific products. As long as the dye does not have PPD or MI, it may be a reasonable option to use.
Pls Suggest any brand of allergy free dye in india
I had done a video earlier on the PPD free dyes in India in a previous video. Here it is. I will try and look for more allergen free dye and post ninth future once I have the relevant information.

Noticing more and more people are presenting with allergies not good - hospitals casually sitting there unfazed when some one’s having an allergic reaction.
You are right, contact allergies are increasing in incidence
How to buy
Usually easiest to get these online
Is there any supplement to improve our immune system to deal with this allergy pls suggest
There is no specific diet that helps with allergy. Removing the allergyen is the best treatment modality.
every hair dye contains ppd so its a marketing scam. if you see any of these "no ppd in hair dye" thats bullshit
You may right. In the UK, though, there are strict regulations regarding labelling for PPD. Any multinational company who do not declare the exact constituents of their hair dyes may face serious legal issues.
No hair dye is safe whether recommended natural or semi permanent all are very very dangerous if once you become allergic to hair dye
You are right. Best to avoid hair dyes if possible.
Products are very expensive 😢
Thats useful information. I did not look at prices when I researched these products. Was just looking for those that had a good scientific basis.
