I spent 9 yrs in Tz, teaching first at Butimba (Mwanza), then at Mkwawa High School (Iringa) where I was head of the physics department, teaching Cambridge A-level. I had a girlfriend who taught at Machame, so I came to Moshi regularly. Tried to climb Kili but had to give it up doe to a n earlier knee injury. Did 4 tours of duty (64-72), 3 for the British govt, and my last one for the Tz govt. A wonderful place.

I am Filipino. When I first began working in the maritime industry as a seafarer, I met Zaif, a Tanzanian national, along with Yorgo and Stelyo, Greek nationals, who worked as ship technicians. They were masters at their craft, and I am grateful to them for treating me like a real brother and teaching me valuable life lessons. Wherever you are now, I wish you good health and a happy life. God bless you, and thank you.

I spent 2 months living in a Safari tent camp and worked drilling a geological study core hole near Matwara Mozambique in 1993. I visited Mount Kilimanjaro and Mongorogoro game park. I even learned a bit of Swahili. An unforgetable experience especialy for a country boy from Texas.

Tanzania is paradise, is very beautiful Country. The first day I set foot in Tanzania, I immediately felt in love with Country and People. I have so much love for Tanzania right from Childhood. I love the Country because of the simplicity of President Julius Kanbarage Nyerere, and ujamma philosophy. And that love remains with me all my life, and that love connects me with my Tanzanian wife. My girl was born in Mwanza. Tanzanian people are kind, simple and very harmonious People
