The ceiling looks fantastic! I love how the dry marker added texture. Love your positive energy, as always!
Mira Byler I agree, it looks awesome.
Hey mira
You should do the "powerpoint challenge" where you make an animation using powerpoint
Mark van der Veen I tried that once. Not with actual people but just to give the PowerPoint a little more...spice I guess. It's really quite difficult especially with such limited shapes to use.
Sanseru i managed to do it and i am not at all an expert
Mark van der Veen yea he should
yeah that would be cool
do a challenge where you draw a picture in negative, then take a photo of it in negative to see how it looks!
Andrew Smith YES HE NEEDS TO DO THAT!

Totally agree!!! There’s a level of desperation to it. Wanting something so bad that you can never have so you manifest it in your life anyway you can just to realize, of course that, it’s not enough.

Also I love ur profile picture
This drawing kinda hit me in a weird place. My grandpa was really talented at art, but especially had a passion for carving. He also wore plaid shirts often and generally looked a lot like the man in the drawing. He's part of the reason why I'm pursuing art right now, up until his death a few years ago he always encouraged me to draw.
What if the statue is a statue of his wife and that's why he is sad. Because she died and he is making this to remember her. I imagine that after she died their cabin became more dry, less full of life. That his life became more jagged rather than smooth. She was the brush, he is the chisel.
Tennessee AG WOAH, THATS LIKE DEEP BRO....

Hey Jazza! I love your vids so much and I wanted to suggest a challenge! Its called the Cave Art Challenge. The rules are that you can only use supplies that were available during the stone age such as rocks, water and possibly berries for different colours. I suggested this before and I really hope you do it!
Thanks for putting out such great vids.

I too have a new art channel would you plz deliver a art challenge on my channel too i request you.
8:09 the image gives me a vibe that is like he is carving his late wife when they were younger and he’s crying becomes of the sentiment in that price he is carving
Me too and i think she’s dead and thats common sense Hahaha
Agreed
YES my mind was chanting *that's the wife thats the wife* the whole time!!! it hit me in the feels tho
🙄 very high thinking
Exactly ... I thought the same thing !
I don’t know why but this one drawing made me start crying because I made up the old man’s story and his life. Also the sculpture was his daughter who passed away when she was 25 from a horrid car crash (burnt to death) and the man had lost his wife from child birth so the daughter was the only thing he had left to remind him of her but now she was gone,, taken from him with the future losing one more precious light
Kayley Chandler “that ...is sad”-Shane Dawson
Kayley Chandler the story which u made is heart touching and no one can make such a heat touching story by just looking at an art piece
Great work man
Holy mother of God you are dark
Kayley Chandler yeah jazza is good at getting a story across in a single image.... No wall of text needed.
well fuck you, now Im crying too

I feel like this has a story to it.
Many years ago a happy couple got married. They started a business where they made statues, pottery, and paintings. They were highly successful and had owned this shop for many years.
Then one day the man's wife died, he was broken and didn't know what to do. The business started falling, as it was hard to run it alone. Eventually he retired, but he still loved what he did for a living so every day he'd visit his shop and make sculptures. He always thought about his wife though.
One day he was in his shop and he started crying over his loss. He decided to make a statue of her younger self to bring back fond memories. When he was finished he thought about what mattered most in life and thought about his memories with his wife.
Beautiful.. just beautiful
William Bosch that is a very beautiful idea and story behind it
@@masonadams9283 thanks, the story took a while to write, but it just was clear in my mind what would happen in it.

Something that could be fun is if you had your son draw some pictures and then you have to make more -realistic- advanced versions of them. If you wanted a challenge on top of that, you could also require yourself to draw them exclusively with Crayons.

This is one of my favourite pieces that jazza has done because I feel like it tells a story, like the man is carving a picture of his lost daughter, or sister, or wife. It’s just beautiful. ❤️
Jazza, I want you to do a piece of art that is not a challenge. I want to see you go full on artist make the coolest piece of art you can make using anything you like.
LanceOLot X yes thatd be cool
But how would he ever narrow down all those fantastic art mediums to just one if not a challenge!!! The art looks good regardless (except the drone)
I second this
LanceOLot X but how would he be able to challenge himself and come up with great challeges and ideas but its still a good idea
He already did that.
Your art is so emotional its like an old man who's wife passed away and he carved the wood into his wife's figure

Chissel gives a nice sketchy feel and prevents you from detailing and keeps the focus on the main visual. I use it all the time for storyboarding.
That is really lovely an image :) you really got a load of feeling out of that. I find the chisel tip dryer too even when I use them alot
Love the wooden texture on the ceiling!
I watched this when it first came out but I’ve come back to it several times and really just can’t get over it.
Also I feel like the man is a widow carving a memento to his deceased wife. His overwhelming emotion is quite bitter sweet too. Like he knows his life is nearly over and his ready to see her again but he’s glad he loved his life fully. I mean if he hadn’t he wouldn’t be able to tell her all his amazing stories.

I just love this "rough" shading look. It feels, I don't know, artistic. You can see that the piece is well painted but you also can see that there are hints about the painting process that was being made in the drawing previously. Way to go, Jazza.
Here an idea for the next challenge : The Excel-Art challenge. You can color and resize cells in Excel in order to draw a masterpiece
When a Jazza video says that it is going to be a challenge and you know it is still going to look perfect, except if an etch-a-sketch is involved.

What story I thought of when I saw the final drawing:
"It's been 10 years since you went to a better place. Sitting here alone in the sofa with a cup of coffee where we used to sit and holds hands while chatting about little things, now alone I look through the window and the bright sun ray's that are coming through make my eyes sting. But also give me the warmth that you once have given me, when I look at the blinding light it seems like you would descend from Heaven and give me a hug telling me that you came back and I would say 'Welcome home, my dear', but I know that it's not gonna happen. When I look in this room it feels empty without you but as the sun slowly penetrates and fills this room I begin to see you and every little gesture and footsteps that you made, like that time when I was working and you came behind and hugged me, or your face when you said that we would have a baby or when you were singing with your beautiful voice in the kitchen.
All these things make me think of you you're in every corner, every place we used to go and anywhere I look, now as I recall all these beautiful memories of us I slowly get up from my chair and I take my tools and I start to make a sculpture resembling you and as I carve and the sun entering this room a teardrop runs slowly on my wrinkly cheek and the tears come down like a waterfall. Ahh, how I wish I could loved you more I could say 'Thank you for being here' all these words that I never had the chance to tell you enough but you always knew them even if I sometimes was maybe embarrassed to say...My dear beautiful wife my soul I want to say that as I carve this wood doll resembling you my hands are trembling but I feel like you grasp me gentle from behind hugging me stopping my trembling hands and saying that we will be together soon, and when I turn my head and I see you leaving as you wave and say 'I will see you later dear' while ascending to Heaven with your golden wings I feel my heartbreaking and I shout "Please don't leave me I want to stay with even if it's just a little" and then you stopped there for a second and you turned back to me and started crying while smiling and slowly you faded away but I saw that when you were crying you moved your lips and whispered, "I'm leaving dear I will wait for you up there".
And then I'm left once more alone and I turned back to the wooden doll and started to carve once again, and I wrote on it's back "For my precious wife Elizabeth until we can be together again".
And I sat down once again as I take a sip of coffee and look outside while thinking ahh what a beautiful day to go out and a tear is falling down in the coffee cup."
This may be silly or even bad but I still wanted to write it so yea sorry if it's bad.....^^;

Vermilion Fox he based the thumbnail after Drake, so he came up with a clever wordplay using a line from Hot-line Bling in which he wore th outfit from the thumbnail. 👏
No need to be rude; you didn't specify. Anyway, other people understood.
Guys, the story doesn't have to be sad. What if he's carving that as a wedding gift for his daughter and he's crying because of how proud he is of the beautiful young lady his little girl has grown to be? He'll miss her dearly, but his daughter is all grown up with her own life now, and he couldn't be more happy for her.

This just shows that even with a chisel tip, that most people don’t prefer, one can make incredible, amazing and professional art. Great work Jazza and keep it up :D
The chisel blend was way better than the brush tip’s... 1:25
3urger ikr I use the chisel tips to blend all the time
3urger That’s cause he used different colours for both
That’s because the colors are pretty much the same color but different shades while when he was using brush tip had more contrast
It’s cause the colors are easier to blend since there in a similar color range

Draw a square with one hand, while drawing a triangle with the other. Extra points for the sides all meeting up at corners, the angles being more close to a perfect 60 or 90 degrees (depending on the shape), and not hesitating after every side
Bonus rule- You have to start and finish both shapes at exactly the same time. Yes this means the corners will not be in sync with eachother >:D

Here’s a really cheesy thing that I came up with.. William took his glasses off and wiped off the tears on his face as he smiled happily at the finished miniature statue of the love of his life. He stood back and examined it. She was beautiful. His eyes fell upon the photograph laid out next to it. It was of him and his wife when they were still young and she had not passed. He began to tear up again and his eyes wandered back to the statue. It was like she was staring back up at him with all the joy in the world and said with her eyes ”I love you William.” He exhaled deeply and gently placed a hand onto the statues head. ”Mary. I miss you.”
Mah heart, mah soul
