A great 1st pizza out of the box. I used tin foil on the grill under the stone and some clay tiles also under the stone. It helped to reduce the burn under the pizza and gives better cooking time for the toppings.
Super Simple pizza oven and it did a very nice job on that pie. It looks very easy to get good results. And as you pointed out, I could see other uses for that oven too. When you first showed it at 28", I thought "That's going on a table!" Low and behold, Tom comes through with the mod. I also see that RUclips hid the "Thanks" button.
Have you ever tried this with just wood ? We have a similar oven which we only used twice and both times were a fail when we used just wood. The first time it wasn’t getting hot enough and then the second time it got up to 900° or so and either way the pizza just wouldn’t come out right or it would get stuck on the pizza peel. Maybe a charcoal in wood mixture is a little easier do you think?
Hey! Great video! I just got one. I think you definitely know what you're doing with the heat and all that and you definitely can use this more from just making pizza
Would you think it could handle a wood burning fire cook. As I’ve experienced wood to burn hotter than briquettes. Thanks for your content fuljy appreciate your experience in all things cooking outside
I wanted to like and buy this oven, but the Amazon reviews show the paint burning off of it and it seems visible in your review as well. So that turned me away. But awesome little oven and great review as always! Just wish the quality was better.
Just a question. We recently purchased this oven. When we made our pizzas and has the oven burning there was so much soot from the fire we made. We did use just regular starter wood from the store. What should I use in the future? We do plan to do the charcoal method as well.
I would love to see you use this oven more, not just for pizza mabe casserole and even grill in it looks like a good cast iron cornbread baker to, I'm looking into buying one myself
I've seen this one before. Looks like a nice set up but what turned me off was the 12 inch pizza stone and the short leg height. If they come out with a 16 inch stone version I might get one to replace the Walmart pizza oven. As for the short legs, I like your idea of removing the legs and put on a more reasonable table height. Pizza looks like it came out pretty darn good Tom. Looking forward to what else you can cook on this one. Thanks.
Pizza doesn’t cook evenly. In order to make Neapolitan the stone has to be around 700 degrees but since there’s nothing above the stone to retain the heat. Pizza bottom will burn prior to the top fully cooking
Nice gadget… you need a few lessons on rolling out pizza dough! I made from scratch probably 30 pizzas from scratch for friends during the Covid lock down.. made take n bakes and left em on my truck bed for friends to pick up for free, got pretty good at rolling out crusts! Called it pizza for friends, fed a lot of families.. I now do pizza on a cast iron pizza pan on my Oklahoma bronco.. great results
Of all the pizza oven you've reviewed, I think i like that one because it cooks the entire pie instead of incinerating the back of the pizza. Here's an idea. You have done like 10 pizza ovens? Set them all up and do a quick review of all with each's positive and negative attributes?
@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ I believe you used hickory wood chips with charcoal, correct? Do you recommend that combo or have you tried only wood and where did you get that burner to heat the charcoal?
sorry man, this is not pizza, this is rubish... Its undercooked on top. It is also ugly. This oven doesnt look good for pizza anyway, there is no flame NEXT to the pizza. Maybe its good for baking breads, try that next time

Thanks for watching! Charcoal as the base, wood chunks for flame
I was looking at this I want something with some more room so it's more versatile, but it does look like it did a nice job on that pie Thanks Tom
Thanks for watching!
So far I think this is the best Pizza oven that you reviewed
Thanks for Watching Jim!
Glad to see you can move it to a pizza table. It would have been helpful to see how to grill on it.
Thanks for Watching!
Great pizza. Artisan shaped pizza. Nice and toasty. Great job. Just bought one of these. I hope mines comes out a good.
Thanks for Watching David! Enjoy

I wouldn't let the paint deter you. Just get some high heat paint from any box store and touch it up. I would look at thicker metal, if anything.
Thanks for Watching! Appreciate the feedback

Is there a video on how to put this together. I lost the instructions
Thanks for watching! I’m not aware of one
That's awesome Tom! And a great price. Thanks sir
Thanks for Watching Jared!
Wifey got me this exact model for Christmas.
Where did you get your charcoal tray ?
Can you post a link ?
Thanks for Watching Jerry! Its just a cake tin that I drilled some holes in
Have you made pizzas on it? How did they turn out? I was looking at getting one
Thanks for Watching! Yes, they were good

happy halloween Tom! any smoked Turkey videos on the horizon for Thanksgiving?
Thanks for Watching Kevin! That’s a great idea Kevin!
Smoked turkey is the best. I always brine mine 1st. MOST tender juicy meat you'll ever have

Thanks for Watching! Most of them are already gone,, not enough room in The land of Grills…..
@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ if you kept them all ,it would be the land of pizza ovens l
Lol.. so very true
I've seen you make plenty of pizza...this oven looks like it works really good, once you placed it on the table...btw what brand of table is it?
Thanks for Watching! The table will be reviewed yet this week
Is there a reason you used charcoal instead of wood?
Thanks for watching! Charcoal is more consistent for heat
Im having a issue with the bottom burning. What am i doing wrong?
Thanks for Watching Travis! What worked for me was to get the stone around 450ish then stoke the fire and put on the pizza
Man Tom 35K subs great job buddy.
Thanks for watching James! Appreciate the support!
How many minutes to cook??
Thanks for Watching Jason! 2-3 minutes
@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ I believe you used hickory wood chips with charcoal, correct? Do you recommend that combo or have you tried only wood and where did you get that burner to heat the charcoal?
I believe you are correct charcoal and wood chip right before the pizza. Any type of chimney start or torch will work
Great review. I think the coal being on the bottom works best. The ones with the coaLs in the back seem to cook the pizza unevenly and torch it.
Thanks for Watching! Agreed
Where did you get the table?
Thanks for watching Jason! Video upcoming on that table
Nice Vevor pizza oven, Tom. That's a great price too.
