anyone please, I am a huge Wizard Of Oz fan...born in 1989 on 50th anniversary and I just love it so much! I want to meet the munchkins at the Oz festival...can anyone tell me how to go about doing this?? help would be greatly appreciated!
Meinhardt Raabe used to give me Oscar Mayer Wiener (sp) whistles when I was a youngster. He was the 1st live Little Oscar for Oscar Mayer Meat Company. I was priviledged to know Mr. Raabe & his wife; they were some swell people.
My wife and I were blessed to have met four of them. We met Margaret Pellegrini and Clarence Swensen at an outdoor showing of the movie, we lucked into an Oz convention where Meinhardt Raabe was the guest of honor, and we met Jerry Maren at the Chicago Comic Con, along with his wife who was sort of an honorary Munchkin; she hadn't been born yet when the movie was made, but she and Jerry appeared as Munchkins in the L. Frank Baum biopic "The Dreamer of Oz."
More than that; several of the children who filled out the Munchkin ranks are still with us, as is 102 year-old Caren Marsh Doll, who was Judy's stand-in.
A movie that will never lose its charm.
God bless them..
That was great! Loved every moment!
These people are just fabulous!
They were still amazing in this vid ^_^ R.I.P to those who passed and Godspeed to them all ^_^
