  • Nhl highlights today edmonton oilers vs anaheim ducks was honestly a ton of fun and not just the corey perry return to anaheim for only the 3rd time as a visitor storyline. Lately Oilers vs ducks games have been a blowout led by connor mcdavid leon draisaitl and evander kane but this one was much closer and entertaining. The next oilers game is tonight vs la kings on hockey night in canada so we'll see what else corey perry has to show us. For more coverage of Edmonton oilers highlights , nhl news and trade rumors , picks / predictions (got a fun one coming) and recaps plus reactions to mic'd up or on-ice rare moments, stay tuned. Three things of note from that game:
    1. Corey Perry is still an asshole who gets away with things he shouldn't, but Anaheim created this monster so it's only fair they get to see what everybody else got to see for over a decade.
    2. The Oilers aren't back to playing at pre All-Star game level, it seems they've lost a step after that 10 day break and will still need a tune up.
    3. The Oilers top two lines are a nightmare to play against right now. You either get RNH-McDavid-Hyman which might be the best line in the league, or you get Kane-Draisaitl-Perry which might be the most aggravating line in the league.

    Presenting my best Corey Perry story. I live in SE Michigan where there is an OHL team called the Plymouth Whalers where my dad has season tickets and would take me to games. A young Corey Perry would come in with the London Knights and was a pest. One move he did a lot was to dive almost like a soccer flop. This prompted chants from the home team of "Dive Perry dive!" especially during one brutal playoff series. The chants continued the following year. Anyway, late in the game the crowd is doing our chant and Perry goes down hard drawing a penalty. He stood up and checked the refs. Seeing they were not looking at him but leading the offender to the box, he looked at our section and did a dive symbol with his hands and skated away. Legendary.

      When it's a two hand chop, down onto the top of the stick, no intention of going for the puck, that's a slashing all day. So sounds like you're a terrible ref. And if it happens to a player who doesn't have the puck because their grip is lose, that's interference.

    • @WowOafus
      @WowOafus 3 месяца назад

      @@gablebrandon I don’t know if you’ve ever chopped anything, but swinging sideways into the side of something isn’t a very effective chop. If he came down over the stick, that’s a slash, but he swings down and then sideways into the side of the stick. Swatting the side of a player’s stick is literally done hundreds of times a game. Just because he lifted his stick up high in theatrics doesn’t change that he only swat the side of the goalie stick.

    Not seen in this video: Mcdavid getting literally tackled from behind by a Anaheim player nowhere near the puck, Anaheim somehow not getting a penalty, and then mcdavid fighting back right after and then getting called for penalty.. Then Anaheim scoring on the ensuing Powerplay to go up 1-0. Letting this go with Perry just evened up that absolutely botched call on Mcdavid.

      @gablebrandon 3 месяца назад

      Not seen in the video, two trips in open ice by the oilers and one open ice cross check interference no where near the puck in the third. Mind you, the Carlsson penalty for tripping when he literally didn't trip the guy which led to the oilers game winning goal. Shall we go on?

      Just like they missed an EGREGIOUS call against mcdavid, then mcdavid got a little scrappy to retaliate, and of course mcdavid got called, and the initial bs on mcdavid was not called. Each team got a goal because of a non call. In fact if the refs called the penalty against Anaheim, they never would have went up 1 - 0 when they did. Could have been a completely different game.

    I personally don’t mind silly antics BETWEEN WHISTLES.
    I know my Marchy has done some goofy ahhh things himself. Like stealing Bedards stick as they were getting off the ice. Last year, had Hathaway also steal a man’s stick as he was getting off the ice…either that or it was Bertuzzi. I find that funny WHEN IT DOESNT INTERFERE WITH A MANS ABILITY TO KEEP IN PLAY. I’m sure the players. Though annoyed. Realize “well, I guess he’s trying to be a funny guy. Whatever,”
    Filling gloves with water? Goofy.
    Slashing a goalies stick so he can’t make a play? Ending up in a goal. That’s just not right.
    McAvoy sending a dudes stick away because “lol, it’s over there” can be funny. We know it happened against him earlier in the season and a no-call was had. It was after the play, so. Doesn’t matter right? (McAvoy did it after the whistle)
    Yes. Im a Bruins fan.
