IRL Amy acts like a bitch, my sister worked back stage for one of her concerts and Amy was a bitch to everyone so if anything Amy is prob gonna be hating on Violet dispite them both being amazing singers but who knows what she thinks.
Jesus Violet.... You are like the ghost of roaring 20's lounge singer. You have this dark gothic style, taste, and feel yet vocal tone and intensity of a bygone era that is rarely heard in modern times.
It's a note-for-note knockoff of Amy Lee, who is current. Of course it's impressive that she can hit those notes! :)

there's always the inevitable Amy Lee comparisons, but I think Violet put her own subtle twist on this. it should be appreciated more. and the pianist is so talented!
True, she did put her own twist, but there are still a LOT of similarities with their voices, if she wanted to she can near replicate Amy's voice

There will always be comparisons because Amy Lee has a very peculiar voice that perfectly fits evanescence song's. In this case, the tone of the girl is perfectly compatible with this song.

Violett voice often reminds me (by tembre) of Evanescence. It hepls cover Amy songs very close to original at least by the impression it makes. I love how Violett sound with a single instrument. Either guitar, either piano... The richness of her voice and her inflections shine through a simple arrangement. Her works with a single instruments touch me the most.
I have noticed her tembre was just slightly different before. It's like the more she covers Amy the more like her she sounds when she stylistically goes melodic.
This is the best version of Lithium not sang by Amy Lee. Very nice! Karim Kamar also performs greatly the piano. Great video! Keep up the great work Violet

With how similar Violet and Amy sound it would be very easy for this to have fallen into an Evanesence wannabe. It didn't. Violet made this song her fricken own. Different emotions, different energy . Fricken perfection.

I am such a purist when it comes to Amy Lee and almost by default dislike covers. For example, I don't like any cover done by Halocene. But, I have to give Violet props. She sounds amazing. I will completely disagree with many of you who keep saying she sounds just like Amy. No, she doesn't. And THAT is a great thing. Their tones are equally distinctive and I would recognize each immediately. Also, I'm not going to compare this with original because it makes no sense, but as an acoustic cover, it's beautifully done. By far my favorite cover of this song. Brilliant work Violet.
I totally agree with it she doesn't sound like Amy Lee. If we were to compare it to Amy Lee's one, I would say that it is flawless, not in the way of she copied her or anything like that.
But in how she made it her own and that if you never heard of the original, you would say that Violet wrote it as well.

I agree. She doesn't sound like Amy Lee at all. That's her voice though it's a little bit normal that you get a bit influenced by the original singer when you make a cover.

Yes, I too can tell the difference between the two, however, there IS a very large amount of similarity in their tones, and to deny that is to deny reality. She DOES sound very much like Amy Lee, and that's perfectly fine. Why deny it, like it's a horrible thing? When she sings Amy Lee songs, most people wouldn't be able to tell the difference, and likely would actually think it's Amy Lee singing were it not for the video. Those who listen to Violet and/or Amy constantly would likely be the only people who notice the difference. It's like Lauren and Addie. Addie, Brad, Joe, and Lauren have all agreed that Lauren and Addie have a very similar timbre, and Violet and Amy are even more similar than they are. Getting upset when someone mentions it, and outright denying it, makes you look subbornly delusional.
