The engine in the truck is the most wonderful thing about the entire truck… though it is a very cool rig, but that 30,000 mile 7.3 is absolute GOLD! Far superior to the garbage they build now
The initial production of “Revcon” were front wheel drive class A RVs, using Olds Toranado engine and transmission, from ‘71 to approximately ‘84. They were manufactured by the son-in-law of the creator of Airstream. I really like the 4x4 version the best! Thank you both for this tour!
2300 kw of solar and 680 ah of batteries! If society collapses he could power a little village of survivors all by himself. I'm used to thinking of the smallest and most portable solutions, but there are benefits to creating an excess, you can share with others. Foosd for thought for sure, I may have to reorganize my perspective a bit :)
The idea that you can boondock for 2 weeks and have plenty of power & water is amazing. I think this is the most power I’ve seen generated on an RV on this channel! Nice rig!
This isn't camping , it's glamping right out of the Jetsons . I'm used to tents , trucks and a shave in the side mirror of the vehicle . This rig would be like dragging around a hotel room with all the amenities . But yes , it's really cool ! 😊
I remember seeing another rig just like this one! A younger couple he is a mechanic and they showed the engine break downs with him doing the repairs in the auto parts store lot!!!
Wonderful rig. Wow. It was great to meet you Brian and Bob at this Quartzsite RTR 2025. I’m having an interview next Monday with Autumn. Wow. Wonderful my first bucket list dream as a retired Montreal Quebec teacher that I’m living now. So excited and happy.
This build is awesome! He’s set for anything. I can’t believe it’s 30 years old. Shows how well made this is, and it was cared for by both previous owners. It looks super cool too. The top bunk area is huge compared to the ones I see being offered today.
What a great RV. With regards to the fridge and the amount of power he has - I wonder if he would be better with a 2-way compressor fridge which is very efficient on 12V power. 3-way fridges are super flexible but they just EAT battery when not on propane or shore power.
This home is brilliant! Lots of storage space & lots of power. He seems to have everything that a traditional house would have, just in a smaller space. Well done 👍🏻🇨🇦
I love everything about his rig❤❤❤👏👏👏. JP, please consider getting a RUclips channel😊 I don't use Instagram or Twitter ( whatever it's called now), for that matter.
Yes, yes!! I would LOVE to ‘follow’ JP too. I sure would also like to know how to contact him for tours.!! I was hoping there would be some links, but I couldn’t find any… But I’m not real tech savvy… Are there any links or any info on how to contact JP?
I’m going to have to watch this one again… I missed what year that gorgeous truck is… Was it 2002? I don’t make them like that anymore! I need to get me one of them that combos and stick all that solar on top! Maybe if JP could find a way to reinvent the Pogue carburetor, he could get a lot better gas mileage.
What an interesting and smart individual! His rig also being unique with one of a kind features. I marvel at the thought of being able to run his A/C of his solar setup. Excellent video. 🙂👍
I really like Brian's interviewing and production style. This is the 2nd interview that I've seen on this channel. I hope that we see more of his reporting in the future.
10 yr nomad with 8 in my current 1979 Itasca 23RG. Basically, the poor man's version of what he has. I kept the propane as primary with elec. backup ( as I run 1800w panels and 1300AH flooded) and still use cell modem and a DVR 4 cam setup with remote viewing capability.
Sweet. It still looks great. I'm impressed. We've got a 25yr old MH we're living in that doesn't look nearly as good as your older rig. We did the same as you, racking as much solar as our roof could hold. We were able to fit 4,400 watts on the roof of our 35ft coach (8, 550w panels) to charge our 320ah 48v battery that we only use for 120v ac power. We racked ours 15" off the roof to clear our front A/C and vents. We've got a tag axle too, as they were more popular back then to improve one's CCC, though other than the GMC, yours is the smallest RV I've seen with one - very unique. If you need more solar you might want to consider a side mounted liftable array like we built. Our 620w side array charges our 560ah 12v battery and it makes a nice window awning too. We haven't needed to run our generator in over 2 years of FT off grid living, so I'm thinking of removing our 5,500w built-in genny like you did to save over 200lbs. We removed our rear rooftop A/C like you did and added a 12k EG-4 mini split in our back bedroom. We love it, as it's dead quiet and uses 1/3 the power that our front rooftop A/C does. Your automatic button pushers are crazy cool! I've never seen anything like it. My niece gave me one of those Alexas once, but I threw it away as I was afraid someone could use it to spy on us, listening to what we say. At 68yrs old I'm a little slower than you on adopting all those high-tech gizmos. I barely understand what they do, let alone know how to use them, much less how to stop them from being used against me. Remember, you're not paranoid if people really are out to get you. 😉 I can't even scan those barcode box thingies with my phone, as I have a dinosaur of a phone. However, I do understand electricity, so I built our entire solar/battery system myself. Good luck to you. We hope to see you on the road some time. Chip & Cindy
tour guide - no wonder he was so well spoken. Really enjoyed his tour.

I doubt the 7.3 would only get 7mpg in this setup. I bet it’s got the 460 (7.5L gas)
The 7.3 was put in buses that get better fuel Economy than “6-8”
@@morrisster It is gasser, for sale on marketplace

Thank you for the History! Blessings 🌱
@@BuckJones1909 that’s so cool! 😎
Wow, that’s interesting info. Thanks
Guy is 6'1'" and is standing comfortably in it; being 5'6" myself that rig would be a mansion to me! Awesome rig, and lifestyle!!

The only problem he may run into is an EMP another Carrington Event.
And the solar power is free and unlimited.
680 ah is what I have for my house backup system. Should be enough for an RV.
I like this guy he's genuine and very informative.
I've been watching this channel for years and this is the coolest build I've seen thus far.
and an interesting guy too.
Agree, 100%! I have been watching for over five years.
Amazing & wonderful to live 23 years on the road. I’m in awe!
The idea that you can boondock for 2 weeks and have plenty of power & water is amazing. I think this is the most power I’ve seen generated on an RV on this channel! Nice rig!
Sure is. But $7 miles per gallon? He's keeping the oil industry well subsidized!

This looks like a fun rig, probably a great option for two people. That is a lot of gadgets, some great ideas here.
Haha JP would be a great tour guide. Im glad he is getting so much joy from his rig 😊
Absolutely Awesome setup!!!
This guy has his stuff together.
This is the best video I've seen on this channel.
One of the best rigs I have ever watched! He doesn't need to ever change to another again!
Hell yeah you are living my friend! Safe travels and great memories!
Incredible set up! This guy is a genius! I was blown away by his ingenuity! Good video, Brian!
Thanks for inviting us into your remarkable home. A sweet ride/home. 😊

Wow! Lots of bells and whistles
Gosh that rig is amazing! (except for the mpgs, haha)
I would have liked to hear the size of his fuel tank.
That engine needs to run on solar 😆
I love everything about his rig❤❤❤👏👏👏.

Awesome. It's not winning any beauty contests, but still awesome 👍
Very nice set up!!!
Incredible set up
6 miles to the gallon. Wow. Love the tech tips and automation ideas JP.
Just goes to show that newer isn't always better - that is an AWESOME rig.

I'm sure someone else will have said this...but those things he has that button presser set for could be done with a smart relay.
