Iwatani Naofumi, a run-of-the-mill otaku, finds a book in the library that summons him to another world. He is tasked with joining the sword, spear, and bow as one of the Four Cardinal Heroes and fighting the Waves of Catastrophe as the Shield Hero.
Excited by the prospect of a grand adventure, Naofumi sets off with his party. However, merely a few days later, he is betrayed and loses all his money, dignity, and respect. Unable to trust anyone anymore, he employs a slave named Raphtalia and takes on the Waves and the world.
But will he really find a way to overturn this desperate situation?

@@jeremiahwallace2275It annoys me how long it takes Raphtalia and Naofumi to finally get together. There is much more hints in the Light Novels but it still takes about 25 books before it is that kind of relationship. The funniest thing is the perks and abilities they both end up unlocking because of that relationship. It makes the other heroes even more jealous.
You got to respect Alta. After spending her life being unable to do anything because of her illness, she waste no time living each day the way she wants to after being cured.

Yeah, she uses her other senses to make up for it as they were heightened because of her blindness. She's also a rare white tiger Demi-Human which is one of the four great races of the demi-human country until the ravaging of their clan

considering that Alta's death/sacrifice is what broke the Curse of Wrath and in turn amplified the positive emotions that were suppressed by the Curse... to give you an idea of how much Naofumi's demeanor changed; he almost pushed himself onto Fohl (if you know what I mean) because he could smell Alta on him and even briefly considered Sadeena's advances until she managed to snap him out of it... and you know someone's out of line when SHE is the one saying that things have gotten out of hand
To put it bluntly, he had a LOT of really normal emotions, like compassion, happiness, and love but the problem is that he was feeling all of them all at once after having them suppressed by the Wrath Shield
This was also around the time he started to realise the feelings he had for Raphtalia and vice versa (but it's only in the latest available LN chapter that he's started making he own feelings known to her)

Fun fact, in the LN, Atla once physically put Fohl to sleep, another Fohl thought that she was asleep, the next Atla put a sleeping drug in her brother’s food, and now this she wrapped him up in his own bed.

@abdallaheldohiri1486 exactly how can a blind girl hogtie and gag someone it would be one thing if she only blind in one eye but to be able to properly hogtie and gag someone while totally blind isn't very believe able unless she didn't go blind until later on in her life like when she was 6 or 7 and used to sew so she had basic to intermediate knowledge of how to make good knots
@@axelreboot8475 its explained in the Light Novels that she's able to "see" the same way DareDevil sees despite both being blind.
Atla is starting to show obsessive signs towards Naofumi. Tying up and gagging her older brother just so she could sleep in Naofumi's room, and refusing to leave even when asked. Hopefully she won't go full yandere.
Oh the yandere is coming that much is clear but I expect naofumi to handle it as at one point that was raphtalia just lucky for naofumi she took to fighting so well as well she didn't let her past eat her up as I could have traumatic as it was 🥱🥱🤔🤔😐😐

Fohl and Atla are my favorite characters and actually, this is toned down quite a bit from the novel. Fohl has an obsessive brother complex and is overprotective of Atla while she is very focused on Naofumi making him very jealous. Atla was crippled for much of her childhood until Naofumi healed and she turns out to be an incredibly talented fighter, even more so than Fohl (that's saying something!) she is very persistent in trying to sleep with Naofumi to the point that it gets a little crazy, she doesn't try to do anything to him, she just wants to sleep by his side.
Fohl and Atla both are very valuable in battle and rapidly get stronger, boosted by Naofumi passive skill to boost stats with every level up. They have roles in the story for the future that I will not spoil.
*I’m so happy they made a new season of this series* 🤩
Fun fact, but people actually had to take shifts in Naofumi's bed just to make sure Atlas didn't inflitrate every night.

It won't help, in the web novel (uncertain of light novel) he goes to various extremes to try and stop her with little if any success. One thing he does "kind of" works but it makes various relationships he has awkward.
