I got my Samsung TV at Walmart for cheap compared to other places and it's Samsung. You get Samsung at Best Buy right. I used to shop at Costco and then started doing the math and some of the stuff is more expensive than Walmart or other stores. Some people who live on a limited income can only afford to shop at Walmart and thank God for Walmart or a lot of people wouldn't even be able to afford the necessities
And the model number most likely will have WM somewhere in it indicating that it's a Walmart only model made of inferior components compared to the same identical item at Best Buy.

Dollar Tree has regular size cans of fruit and pie filling for $1. I also buy sponge mops and brooms there. Amazon Prime doesn't give you a price break on EVERYTHING. Consider shipping cost along with purchase price for online orders. Also, you might prefer not to wait when you can get it right off the shelf locally.
Are the EverStart batteries for cars/motorcycles any good there? I was thinking of getting one for my scooter, but debating whether it's worth spending $70 for a Walmart battery.
Sorry, but I disagree about not buying tv's at Wal-Mart. I bought a cheaper forty inch flat screen than I would've at Best Buy or anywhere else for that matter.
I bought a refurbished 24" SMART TV for the bedroom for $86 at WalMart. Spent another few bucks for 3yr extended warranty. A VERY good deal; very satisfied.
Walmart oil is made by MOBIL-1 and is branded as "Super tech Full Synthetic", and is the BEST oil on the market! Also their Car Batteries now have a 5 year warranty, with a 3 year full replacement, no questions asked, and the batteries are made by "Johnson Controls", the BEST battery manufacture in the world.
Walmart is the best place to buy motor oil and oil filter. Hands down the best price. I've been using thier oil for years and never had a problem. Always buy Walmart brand oil.
I would add meat, but otherwise a great list. Also on TVs the Vizios they carry don't have Tuners, have to get to E-Series before you have a tuner (Wal-Mart carries D series and below).

Unless your getting those packs for $1 the other candy is not such a great deal. Better to go to the dollar store like you said or if you have one in your area a Big Lots store. Never, ever buy bikes at Walmart or similar chain stores. I race bikes professionally and have fixed similar cheap bikes for friends, which aren't only cheap and poorly assembled but also really dangerous.
He is right about the tv's. I got my check on the 1st went to best buy for a tv but they didn't open for another hour. So i told my sister just go to walmart next door. Got a 39" element smart tv for 215 total cost. Two weeks later the screen goes black and it turns off by itself every few minutes. It cant find my receipt so i couldn't ecen take it back. Luckily i went on line found how to reset the tv. Managed to get ir working. It still kept turning off. Had to keep turning it back on till it would stay on. After two days of that. It finally started working right.
1:19 You left out that Walmart Doesn't carry "Parental Advisory" CDs which means you can ONLY buy "Edited" versions of a lot of albums! You're better off going to Best Buy or Amazon.

Careful. Those cheap clothes are typically clothes that are so full of formaldehyde that they break down after a few washes. They use formaldehyde for storage of the fabric in shithole countries. This is what helps keep them cheap. You could get "new" clothes made with fabric that has been stored for years, and the chemicals are just eating away at the cellulose in the fibers.
Some interesting information to digest here. I have to admit, I am a Wal-Mart shopper. For the most part, Wal-Mart does offer a competitive price on most items and their competitive advantage is the convenience of being a one-stop shop. I will agree on electronics and bigger ticket items like tires; online shopping and comparison shopping is the best route to go over straight convenience. However when it comes to smaller items like non-perishables, I have to weigh the overall costs vs savings. If I am already at Wal-Mart buying a hula hoop for the kids and I need a box of pasta for dinner, is it worth the 10 cent savings to make an extra trip to the dollar store? To your point though, you do mention in the video that buying bulk is where the real savings are in that situation. Is it worth buying 10 boxes of pasta at the dollar store to save 1, 2, maybe 3 dollars in order to justify the extra trip? Now we are debating that trip... The bullet points in the video that I am interested in (and struggle with) is when you mention Sam's Club or BJ's. I am not a big box club member, but I am always giving it serious thought. I am just not sure if it is really worth it to pull the trigger on it. Great video for getting people to appreciate the merits of comparison and bargain shopping. Thanks, Matt!
There was a big sale on resin containers for your porch or deck. But I found the same thing a bit smaller like the difference between 90 cubic ft and 88 cubic ft for $80 less. The same thing.

Where I live Sam's & local tire shops don't have discounts or better prices on tires. I ordered my last set of tires from Amazon & had them put on by the local tire shop. Electronics from Walmart tend to be inferior quality as well.
I agree with most of those suggestions. One thing you may want to get there is Rx meds. They are usually cheaper. You many want to do a video on rx prices. Goodrx.com cash prices are even cheaper sometimes than insurance prices. This has happened to me 3 times.

As always good information Matt. To your list I'd like to add Batteries. This is because the batteries stocked on the selves have been sitting there for who knows how long and there is a limited warranty on them. Basically, the batteries are moved from one shelf to the store shelf and more than half their life is gone by the time someone comes along and purchases it. actually my friend works at walmart and he used his discount so I could get tires. so 600 dollar tires for 550 including tax, mounting, and balancing. PLUS I got a mail in rebate (50 dollars worth) from goodyear. I asked my tire shops near me and they wouldn't beat that and all quoted me over 850! I also get free balancing as long as I have the tires on my car since sometimes a weight falls off and etc.
this wasn't really what not to buy, its just places that have cheaper prices than certain walmart items. just like everywhere else you just need to check prices. not to mention walmart price matches almost anyone so really pointless video...
Mike Their price matching program is no more. But you are right, if you read competing sales ads or pay attention to pricing from different chains, you can save money shopping at any store. It is up to us to be informed customers. If someone can't be bothered with shopping around, or are more concerned with the convenience of only going to one store for everything, then they really shouldnt complain about having paid a higher price for something.
i buy my electronics from best buy they have a really good warranty and i dont shop at walmart dont like the rude people there and they always look mad or they dont want to work there.

Who in his right mind wants to stand on hard floors 8-9 hours or so a day? It's hell on the back and legs. That's why many Walmart employees look mad, you would be too.
Not to mention specially in electronics Amazon might also have the better deals than Walmart. And if it's warranties that you're worried about it's better to go with smaller electronic stores maybe even stores that may be locally owned in your area they are much better at honoring warranties than Walmart would ever be.
Electronics at Walmart are a virtual mine field! Some products look identical to what other stores carry but CHECK THE MODEL NUMBERS! The exact same item will often have a "special" Walmart only model number. They are specifically designed for Walmart using inferior components in order to meet the demands Walmart places on suppliers for that "rollback low price".

My 1080p 40 inch Westinghouse and 40 inch Element TVs from Target still work fine 3 years later.

actually my friend works at walmart and he used his discount so I could get tires. so 600 dollar tires for 550 including tax, mounting, and balancing. PLUS I got a mail in rebate (50 dollars worth) from goodyear. I asked my tire shops near me and they wouldn't beat that and all quoted me over 850! I also get free balancing as long as I have the tires on my car since sometimes a weight falls off and etc.

this wasn't really what not to buy, its just places that have cheaper prices than certain walmart items. just like everywhere else you just need to check prices. not to mention walmart price matches almost anyone so really pointless video...

Mike Their price matching program is no more. But you are right, if you read competing sales ads or pay attention to pricing from different chains, you can save money shopping at any store. It is up to us to be informed customers. If someone can't be bothered with shopping around, or are more concerned with the convenience of only going to one store for everything, then they really shouldnt complain about having paid a higher price for something.
walmart in our area have stop price matching the only thing they do is price match "online" as long as it ship and sold by walmart

i buy my electronics from best buy they have a really good warranty and i dont shop at walmart dont like the rude people there and they always look mad or they dont want to work there.
not surprise but i have more issues with best buy than walmart well at least the one i shop at and work for walmart not 100% perfect i can say that for sure

Who in his right mind wants to stand on hard floors 8-9 hours or so a day? It's hell on the back and legs. That's why many Walmart employees look mad, you would be too.

Not to mention specially in electronics Amazon might also have the better deals than Walmart. And if it's warranties that you're worried about it's better to go with smaller electronic stores maybe even stores that may be locally owned in your area they are much better at honoring warranties than Walmart would ever be.

Electronics at Walmart are a virtual mine field! Some products look identical to what other stores carry but CHECK THE MODEL NUMBERS! The exact same item will often have a "special" Walmart only model number. They are specifically designed for Walmart using inferior components in order to meet the demands Walmart places on suppliers for that "rollback low price".
Walmart has the best deals on tires. And don’t try to make you buy roadside insurance.
Look l love walmart and l will buy whatever l need from Wal-Mart ..Wal-Mart always have sales and l brought a tv 6 years ago and it still work..
