The opening 😂 Well done
I'd love to see that opening the next time you refelt your table lol.
@@ItsyaboiRolla😅😂
Ripping that cloth was probably the most fun you had all day.
Damn, thats life lesson not a pool lesson.
So great to hear the sports psychology side of playing and how we respond. At a big team volleyball camp the leader shared this wisdom. "Think of the best coach you have ever had in any sport, now think of the worst coach you have ever had....he finished with this...When you look into the mirror you are looking at the very best coach and the very worst coach you will ever have. Lesson: learn how to coach yourself with excellence. In fact, the goal of self coaching should be to win C.O.T.Y. Coach of the Year. During every pool video, I watch body language to see how they are coaching themselves. Excellent video and presentation!! You are a Winner!
OMG Jasmin, that was one of the Best billiards videos ive ever seen, thank you. And yes it can be applied to All other sports and life itself. What a Wonderful person you are to share your insights. Bless You.
I use to be really emotional about things, now in time I have learned how to deescalate the situation just by slowing down and deep breathing has really helped. concentrate with purpose, focus deeper. In remembering the most important thing is we're human. We're going to miss make mistakes along our journey playing pool or just life in general. I know I can't control what's happening at the table when I'm not present. when I'm at the table I want to be that "right" person to finish what I have started. It takes time and persistence.
I'm generally not an angry person so I don't have that specific issue. However, I am a people pleaser which comes with its own issues! The main things that come to mind are taking early 9's and making lucky balls or getting lucky bad leaves on a miss. I feel shame and guilt! When I slop a ball in I feel bad about it then I always seem to miss the next ball. To which I tell my opponent that I didn't deserve that ball anyway. But whenever my opponent gets some luck, I always say, "It's ok, we all get lucky sometimes!" This video has helped me to realize that I need to remind myself of my own words and stop training myself to feel bad. I also tend to scratch a lot and as I'm giving the cue ball to my opponent I tell them that I have a present for them and that makes them happy and smile which I suppose then gives me a little dopamine rush. So maybe I need to find a different way to deal with that. Thanks for the great video! You've really given me a lot to think about regarding the mental aspect of the game!
Outstanding job explaining this not so easy topic to get. Great examples to follow.
Me, trying to play DS1 on a SL1 with no summons, 2 hours fighting Ornstein and Smough and barely getting phase 2 to half health. The emotions are real and dang this episode helped me get some drive back in to keep at it. And I’m not naive to emotions and such and feeling them, but this was a great reminder.
This fits ALOT of situations in life. Thank you for your work putting this out to the public. I came up in a time when "pros" would never share what you do!!!
I knew this was gonna be a good one just off that thumbnail haha. And ive actually seen someone stab a table with a switchblade and rip the cloth off in person 😅😂😂😂😂
The opening scene was great 🎉😂❤
Agreed
What a good heart you have.
And now, my gift to you.
Temperament Controlled Spirit.
my goto phrase: Be a Goldfish... 10 second memory then forget it... onto the next shot.
I love this topic especially in relation to pool! Thank you so much for this!
That's great video, thanks to Jasmine.
Emotion and mental always affects the results, these are parts of billiards.
Thanks for the lessons. I have 2 granddaughters that are getting into Billards just because of you, Thank you for helping me get
more quality time with them.
Excellent video topic! This one is my absolute favorite! Thank you Jasmin! 🙏🏻🤓
Nice one! Mental game is sooooo important and so uncomfortable to face!
Thank you. Very important theme.
The last time that happened, I took a month off, came back with my first teacher to analyze my flaws. It worked for me.
Mental toughness applies to every sport. Emotions are vital to control. I've learned how i express my emotions if even only toward myself, contributes to everyone's attitude.
i love your positive energy. your channel will explode
Thanks so much Jasmin. I need to work on my mental game and this video was helpful. In fact, all of your videos are so helpful. Thank you for sharing this.
I'm more likely to get angry than make a shot these days. So this is perfect for me.
Großartig, wirklich!! 👍
Great, I will try out a nice song. Thx Jasmin and I struggled yesterday with the emotional impacts in my second 9-Ball-Game. Your video is a good reminder how to deal at the table with emotions.
As always, every video or lesson you post describes me. That's such a valuable lesson in pool and in life as well. And as always you are just incredibly beautiful and sweet. I could listen to you all day. Thank you so much for the lessons! I am improving my game greatly!
These are really great tips Jasmin. Thank you and I will try my best to follow them. And you seem like a good mental coach even though you're not a certified one
Yess....you Are... Simply the Best...thank you for another Great video....🥰
Jasmin - Great video! I have been trying to work on my mental game for a while now and incorporating parts it (breathing/positive mindset) into my pre-shot routine. Please keep the videos coming. I learn a lot from them and they have improved my game. I do have a request though - How about a video addressing the tempo of the stroke? I have been told I am too fast on my back swing and jerky on the follow through. You can imagine the impact on pocketing. If you have any thoughts/input on tempo/timing as well as drills please make a video for us all! Thanks
Thanks for this video, I will try to incorporate these suggestions in my game…
I just broke my cue two weeks ago angry and frustrated!!! Good lesson Jasmin .. I’ll keep in mind 😅❤
I have a friend who did that like you did, he is always losing and his Position play its not good. After three shots he is out of position. I hoppe you have not broken a 314 -3 shaft 😅.
Greetings from Swiss
Someone broke a cue the other night during league. A shattered piece hit a young woman under the eye. He looked like a total ass of course. He proceeded to walk off and break the cue even more and then threw it to the ground. Of course he was reported…but he really looked like an idiot.
Great stuff !
Your amazing inspiration… love you
Great instructions. Thanks.
I really enjoy your videos ! One can learn something from each one. I have a bad temper..when I made stupid mistakes. Broke 1 que on the table and cost me the game. I've learned to calm down over the years. Just last night - again I missed ..stupid mistake.. but kept cool. I've learned it Doesn't help to get angry. I was focused to do Bettter next time/turn !
Well, hiring a sports psychologist is definitely off the table, seeing how some bad advice has led me to gamble away any extra money trying to beat the first match jitters due to primary emotions. Guess it's time to move on to Plan B: internally singing in a chipmunk-like squeak "I Feel Pretty" from West Side Story and picturing Jasmin trying not to crack up as she explains how to clean balls in a dishwasher.
Jasmin, if by some chance I'm ever blessed and lucky enough to play you and I suddenly burst into uncontrollable laughter... now you'll what I'll be thinking.
All jokes aside, this is a great advice and an explanation of complicated subject :)
This was great! Wish I'd have seen it right before I played at the VNEA trounament in Vegas instead of as soon as I got home. :) Still great advice.
Earl Strickland and Mika Immonen need to watch this video, lol! 😡
Haha true
Great video 👍 thanks 🎉.
I don't think of anything else when I play pool, just pool shots. That proves that pool/billiard is a game of concentration.
love your coaching 🦾🦾🧠🧠
Wish I had seen this video three cue sticks ago!!😂🤣
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
PS. I love your Creativity 😊
Very smart! (And I was a psychology major in college.)
I LOVE your videos!!
Maybe the song to sing before the last shot could be, "Don't Fear the Reaper," ha ha!
I was just talking to a fellow player and fried about this today. How do you get recentered and get mentally back in game. When I’m playing great and I feel like is just flowing perfectly the game is going great.
But when I loose that focus and I know I’m making mistakes I tend to get really frustrated.
Thanks for putting out this video it’s definitely great information. And I have often wondered how you and other players have stayed so focused. Especially when you have shots that are on a shot clock.
I saw a Video months ago,
He said leave your cue,get out from the room you are playing for a Minute or 2.
Wow this went so deep into the workings of the mind, really wonderful analysis. I guess it comes with being Austrian? Freud, Adler, Ouschan…? 😀
It's a crime that this song doesn't have a music video.
Thanks, Cap
A couple of books pop up during the video, for example at 8:24: "Tennis: Winning the Mental Game" and "On Mental Toughness", the first one seems particularly well exploited: are they recommended readings or just a couple of books among many, put in as "stock images"?
Your amazing!❤🎉😊
"Nobody does it better!"
Very useful 👍🏼👍🏼
Zen Samurai on the pool table 😎🙏
great🎉, thank you
I love that.
It means alot.
Everybody sing this song, doo-dah, doo-dah
Well everybody sing this song all the doo-dah day
👊😆 *An older man was married to a younger woman.* After several years of a very happy marriage, he had a heart attack. The doctor advised him that to prolong his life they should cut out sex. He and his wife discussed the matter and decided that he should sleep in the family room downstairs to save them both from temptation.
One night, after several weeks, he decided that life without sex wasn't worth living. So he headed upstairs. He met his wife on the staircase and said, "I was coming up to die."
She laughed and replied, "I was coming down to kill you!"
Don't quit your day job.
@@james1795 ❤😆I got one for ya. What does Jimmy and an 80's metal head trapped in the closet have in common? A 🌈Rainbow In The Dark!
@@james1795 Tough Crowd. 🤔 ❤👉👌A man suspected his wife of cheating while he was at work. He told his best friend about it. He says I could place a hidden camera in the bedroom, but I don't want to spend that much money...
His friend says there's an easy and cheap way to be sure: attach a spoon under your mattress, and place a bowl filled with milk under it. That way, if your wife goes to bed with someone, the mattress will sink and the spoon will touch the milk. All you have to do when you get home is to check if milk is on the spoon or not.
The man agrees to do so and goes home. 2 days later, they meet again.**- So, did you do it?**- Yeah, I did everything you told me: I put the spoon, the bowl, the milk, etc. And I checked yesterday evening.**- What happened? - The bowl was full of butter.
😂
Sing a Song is : SAS.....but the idea is solid.
Prettiest smile this side of the rack! You should try it more often, it might just turn you into pool"s most recognized ambassador since Mosconi or Fats... Allison who?
I had an opponent so completely lose his temper it took 20 mins for him to compose himself. He n I had played for years and he’d never beaten me.
He was also completely disrespectful and rude.
He steps up to the table, ball in hand, shots his shot; I call foul as he’d pocketed my ball.
I ran the table then the next 2 racks for the win.
( Should I have let him know beforehand ?
Had you been there n seen the whole situation I’m sure you’d have said no way ).
This was a 64 yr old man who bragged about having gotten into a bar fight the week prior…
Karma..
Crazy personality
I don't need anger management... I just need people to quit pi$$ing me off.
