Once VLine VL2 is installed and connected into your vehicle's OEM stereo and display system, you will get the following functionality:

Bought this unit and just installed it. Best 600 bucks I have spent. I have games and Netflix Loaded into my system lol. I also have a Bluetooth obd2 reader plugged in for diagnosis also.

Does it work with the models with HDD instead of USB?
Are you able to use the rx 350 mouse inside the vLine system or does it only work outside? Just curious. Definitely going to get this.
You can use RX mouse with VLine system in all modes, same as on the factory features.

Just stumbling onto this device......excited about possibly adding carplay to my 2011 RX450h. As I noticed the package includes a microphone, I am curious to know whether this is required, as the vehicle already has a microphone for Bluetooth calls?
Hello, thank you for your interest in GROM VLine VL2 system for CarPlay and Android Auto stereo integration. On 2011 Lexus RX 450 you will need to use the mic that comes with the VLine package. For the 2011 Lexus RX with factory NAV the correct model is LEX6RT, available here: gromaudio.com/store/all-lex6rt_.html
The microphone is part of the package.

How does it integrates the Levinson audio? Quantity sound output? And the side camera works too?
It fully integrates with the Mark Levinson audio and you will get high quality sound through your car stereo system. The side cameras work as they always do with the OEM system. No factory functions are disabled with the connection of GROM VLine VL2 system for CarPlay and Android Auto.

It has CarPlay which is wired via USB. There is an advantage of the USB connection - it is more stable, and the iPhone stays charged. Wireless CarPlay is also in works, and will be added via firmware update on VLine VL2.

You can use either stand alone USB modem with the SIM card and internet plan, or you can share the mobile internet from your phone. See more info here:

Do you have to press the USB key everytime you start the car or it automatically takes you to the android auto menu?
It will remember the mode where the stereo was the last time. Next time when you turn on the car, the stereo will be in Android Auto mode, if that is what you have been using before.

Your website says it's compatible with the RX300 screen and original head unit. Given the fact that the Rx300 touch screen is ancient is this really possible?

Is this touchscreen? Also can it be both wired and wireless?
It supports original screen in the stereo. If the original stereo is touchscreen, VLine VL2 system will work with it. It works both with the touchscreen and the knob control stereos.
The VLine VL2 system supports wired and wireless CarPlay.
We've got a 2010 RX350 (base model) with remote touch and OEM Nav, but there is no USB tab in the Audio selection, and no USB ports at all inside the center console well or anywhere else on the dash. Will your Vline work with my car?
The VLine LEX6VL2 model is only compatible with the vehicles that have factory USB port that supports iPod/iPhone playback. USB port will be disabled with the installation of VLine VL2.

For a minute, I thought the LEX6RTVL2 is gonna work for my car, but then the installation video by you guys shows that the other 2011 Lexie got USB signal input.

Can you play FM radio while Vline shows google maps?
No you can't as the stereo can only be in one mode at a time. You can play any music apps using VLine, that includes FM radio app if desired. Also Tunein or WebRadio have access to myriad of the internet radios. The music and maps in such case can work simultaneously.

Probably worth mentioning that you lose visual capabilities of climate control when in v-line mode. Probably one of the most inconvenient things I’ve had to deal with since install.
In some stereos to get to the visual AC controls you need to press MENU->CLIMATE

@@gromaudio Yes, I have been made aware. I'm just saying that it would be good for {potential} customers to know so they aren't inconvenienced after the fact. Especially since there are other stereo systems out there that allow you to keep the climate control & main menu as part of the CarPlay interface.
