When you get off the ride, there is a huge map and it shows you where other people are from during that day at EPCOT.......I think it's pretty neat.
Omg, I remember that, most of the pinpoints were in Florida but there were so many others sprinkled throughout America and the whole world, like there was even a few smack in the middle of Africa, idk why but I thought it was really cool
And to think all of it is inside the giant ball at Epcot.

I always remember how strong the AC was on this ride.
Oh yeah - I just remembered that. I think that's why I went on it twice. Once on my own and once with family. On a torturously hot Florida day rides like that are a welcome break.

I remember going on this ride as a kid and just being in awe at everything around me, the feeling I get is indescribable.
This is my favorite ride at Epcot (I'm a history geek 😐)
I'm taking a Media Studies course right now and I get so excited every time we talk about the Communication Revolutions because I'd already learned it all on my favorite ride at Epcot. :D

iThemePark My little sister and mom rode together during our first time, and she accidentally pressed the button for Chinese. My mom was kinda annoyed at my sister so we ended up riding again towards the end of the day...good times 😌

He wouldnt, this ride is in epcot. Disney wanted epcot to be a community, not a park.

haha I havn't been to epcot since I was very little and everytime someone says epcot i smell that smell and a rush of nostalgia. Its crazy how much it has changed. I remember when I went it showed something like skype as something far in the future and now its a reality

The flashes from some inconsiderate fools camera ruined the entire ride just like in this video. I complained to the ride attendant and we got to ride it again. I thanked him when we saw him again.

I love this ride. We always do it several times when at Epcot. It's one of those rides where you think it would be so cool to get out and hang up on some of the sets.

Yes, it's a little boring, but man, one of the smells that will last a lifetime is when you pass the burning ruin of the Library of Alexandria.

This one has always been my favourite at Epcot, in person the ride so much cooler and I think anyone would enjoy it! It looks "disappointing" bc it's videotaped. in person, I was very impressed

I love this ride. It celebrates human history and makes it come alive. The slow ascent (in addition to being relaxing) also serves as a metaphor of sorts, as humans reach new heights along the way. It’s a classic.
I LOVE Spaceship Earth. The scenery, the music and of course that amazing smell!!

As a huge history nerd, this is actually one of my favorite things at Disney World.
this is my favorite ride ever. i love history when its taught in a fun and exciting way. this was the only disney park i’ve ever been too until recently so it’s stuck with me.
This makes me miss Disney so bad, I remembered so many memories going on this ride.
I always loved going to Disney World during my school break or sometimes during school days, but this ride reminded me of my Social Studies class and I was like in my head, "No! I'm in school again!" but hey you learn something old or new each day whether it's at school, Disney, or wherever.
6:08, I can literally smell that unique smell when you get to that area. LOL!

My favourite ride at EPCOT and my 10 year old daughters too :-) shes loved this ride since she was 6 years old so i guess some kids find it boring but mine certainly loves it..... Its a true classic, educational ride x

was using this video to show a family member the ride after my school trip, the map that i took on this ride was one of the best power naps I’ve ever experienced.
The first time I rode this ride was in May of 1994. I was six years old and the ride got stuck as we were passing by the kid yelling "Extra! Extra! Read all about it!" I'm not sure how long we sat there listening to that annoying kid but it felt like hours to my six year old self. They eventually turned all of the lights on and we had to evacuate the ride. My parents and I went back to Epcot later in the week and rode it again. I remember being terrified and I held my breath as we went through the area where we had gotten stuck the first time. I was glad I went on it again though as it ended up being one of my favorite rides.
Just seeing all the facets and segments of the ball up close makes me want to cry...I remember being astounded by the detail when I was a child. That IS the 80s for me.
I did always appreciate those kind of Omnimover rides or whatever they're called. Peaceful and a good break to just relax. Horizons was also like that. People Mover also, along with the Imagination ride
Always enjoy this ride. Video is great, but its too bad you cannot hear more of the narrator in this video. She sounds drowned out.
It's due to there being narration coming from the speakers in the headrest and the scenes have their own audio. I'll have a new video of this ride with the narration loud and clear in the near future.

It's just a trip through time that's what it is and it's just absolutely fantastic
The animatronic Roman soldier reminds me of Octavius from Night at the Museum starring Ben Stiller. I found this ride very interesting, especially the part where it feels as if you're in a planetarium with all those stars.
I actually enjoyed this ride more than i thought i would. its not your typical crazy ride but its just a nice leisure ride. its worth seeing and its very interesting! I loved epcot especially because i love traveling and it was a nice "cultural" experience

Everytime we left the park it would be at night. We would always be on the monorail and the way Spaceship Earth would be lit up at night was so beautiful. I have a button of it.

I rode this the first year Epcot opened. This ride has changed a little. I remember a part where the ride approaches a billboard. When you pass the billboard you saw a motorcycle cop waiting on the other side.
I remember thinking this ride was so boring as a little kid, but it was always my parent’s favorite ride… i finally understood it once I got older 💖

I was riding this and we were going up and it just stopped. We were leaning back and all we could see were stars. Took about 10 minutes to start up again
This is my favorite ride at Epcot. It's so inspiring and beautiful. I could have sworn there was a section with sets that visited the present era and an imagining of the future. When I went the other day they stopped somewhere in the 70's or 80's I believe, and just went backwards, then a screen with my picture and a questionnaire came up. They could make the sets even better, and Epcot needs updating all around.
I went on a trip to Florida with my marching band and we went to Epcot and we went on this ride it was amazing.
Same, except I didn’t like this ride because I’m afraid of heights and my friends and I researched it and saw it was a slow ride but it was too high for my liking and I dislike going down backwards from heights. It’s ok if you like it I just know that I’m never going to ride this again.
Sometimes I'll just be minding my own business but then the smell of Epcot will just appear out of nowhere and then I'll get upset

I love this ride. I've probably been on it somewhere around 50 times. 3 in one visit. I just find it so relaxing and peaceful.
+Shane Bales it's one of the most relaxing rides in all of florida. I always try to go on it multiple times if the line isn't too long.
I loved the ride back down to the starting position. even though I can't see, I couldn't help but imagine myself floating through outer space. I just closed my eyes and relaxed. It was so peaceful. I couldn't hear as much of the spoken-word throughout the journey, though. Did they feature the part with the great fire? I'll never forget that part. I could feel the heat and actually smell smoke. Let's hope they didn't take that out, too. It was such a wonderful history lesson in time and the effects were spectacular. I don't remember the part with those questions or the interactive screen, so I wonder if that was new? Great job, too, on the audio. I know it was hard to include everything, so I know you did your best.

Went on this ride about 4 months ago and loved it. I am from Australia so we don't hav rides of this caliber here. Would love to go agiain. Miss that burning smell in the library.

I was about to buy a ticket to epcot, but my family wanted to see the princesses (plus i wanted to ride the monorail) so we went to magic kingdom instead. But now for my birthday we are spending the day at epcot
I love this ride so much, I went to Disney in February 2016 for a gymnastics competition. Now it is march 2017 and my aunt and cousin are in Disney world and same with one of my best friends. It is spring break. I am so freakin jealous this is how I cope

I love this ride, and the animatronics have improved so much! On my last ride, the whole ride stopped because a handicapped person was getting on, and I seriously stared at one of those guys for 3 minutes and could not tell he was fake. The Pirates animatronics are much better too! Makes me want to go back~

My first visit to Florida (from Scotland) was September 2013. We go back in April. We are so excited. Me, my husband, his mum and dad, his sister her husband and two kiddos who will both be 3 and 5 years old. It really will be magical.

Is it just me, or did I hear Judi Dench's voice on the ride's speaker back in 2012? I was like, AWESOME! 'M' is my tour guide! *LOL*
The symbolism of this grand old attraction is remarkable. As humanity learns to communicate effectively we gain the ability to make positive changes in our world. The silver orb this attraction is housed in represents the unified positive world we can create through the simple act of communication. Too bad the audio does need some work.

Been on this ride a few times, but the first time I did get freaked out. There part where the man is snoring can actually be a jump scare because it's so loud and an unexpected noise.
I remember the first time I went on this ride, I was 12 in 1984, 35 years exactly!
Back in 1985 we never had as much technology for this ride. We have come a long way in 30+ years.
First rode in October 1988 when the Cronkite version was about two and a half years old. Was blown away by it. I liked the "your vehicle is rotating through 180 degrees" warning at the top which they replaced with a more simple warning in about 1994.

I’m so sad to see this close for a while
I like hollering at the lady in the ticket booth at the theater just as I pass. Depending on the timing, she looks to her right like she's responding to your call. If you look at the point where he's got the camera pointed at the recording booth, it turns to the left to see the TV. If you look to the far right, you see the ticket lady in the booth. In this pass, she does not turn. I've been lucky enough to have seen three different setups of this ride. Once you pass the big Earth image, the ride takes you down faster than you got up. If you look at the technical drawings for this ride, there are fewer turns down than up.
I remember this ride. I rode it back in 1991. I remember all the animatronics. I also remember after seeing the space and earth, it was telling is we were going back to the present. We were riding backwards. We did not have the touch screen to see the little video at the end. I remember it was all lit around and the ride was just talking to us. The touch screen video monitor was not there at that time. I would like to go back again to ride this again. I never thought there was a ride in there.
One thing nobody will ever be able to forget is the burning smell in the Library of Alexandria and the fall of Rome.
