    And now you know why we love taking a break for warm water diving. Next hit Laguna for some nice kelp diving.

    • @TritonsRealm
      @TritonsRealm  3 года назад +1

      Lol. Yeah, we’re back in the warm water again, but thanks for recommending Laguna. We’ll keep it on our radar.
      I did get in some diving at Catalina Island while in CA, and we’ll be dropping that video next. Thanks for watching and commenting. 👍

    I love this and yes it’s always worth it! We got certified in February 2020 and learned how to dive in conditions such as these up and down this coast. I have miles of footage just like this! Laguna has become our honey hole for diving and there’s plenty of Spanish Shawls riddled on the reef. La Jolla Cove is a great site to check in on the horned sharks. If you’re lucky you might see a Seven Gill. Also a great place to play with the Sea Lions as well. La Jolla Shores for Leopard Sharks and the lone green sea turtle. 20 feet of viz is a good day here! I’m glad to see you dove it out. Thank you so much for all your efforts and time sharing these videos 🤙.

      Thank you. We appreciate the kind words and comment. I had a blast diving in Malibu and out at Catalina Island. The kelp forests are incredible. We’ll have to put La Jolla Cove on the list for next time. Finding a Seven Gill would be a bucket list item for us. Dive safe. 👍

    Nice video, but Leo Carrillo Beach is; IMO and many others, the best place in Malibu to dive. You don't deal with the crap you dealt with here; a long surf entry and longshore current, getting out to the best part of your dive spot. Plus, I don't dive if the surf is up unless I have to. If it's surfing time, it ain't diving time and vice versa. Though there is a large rock formation at Leo Carrillo which breaks that beach in two and to the left of it you can get some nice waves to ride while the right side remains somewhat protected from the surf. It's one of the few spots were you can see surfers and divers in the parking lot at the same time, though if the surf rises too high, forget about diving it.
    You can find many Spanish Shawl and Lemon nudibranchs at Leo Carrillo and I've seen both horn sharks and leopard sharks there. It's fun to tell non-divers you swam with horn sharks when they don't know the horn sharks are only about eighteen to twenty-four inches long, they just sit on the bottom waiting for nighttime to go hunting shellfish and the only way one would bite you is if you stuck one of your fingers down its throat.

    By Neptune's Beard! It was a crazy diving day indeed! I'm used to have poor visibility here in St.Lawrence River, but not mixed with a crazy surf/surge as you had. Ouch! And trying to film a tiny nudibranch in that soup?? You are insane haha. Great adventure video mister! :)

    Reminds me a bit of the river dives I’ve been doing in 4 foot viz, current and wave action when freighters go by. I try to justify the work it takes to do those dives by reassuring myself it is always good skills practice. Sometimes it works, other times not so much. Well done getting the shot - worth it! Fun video to watch! 😃👌

    • @TritonsRealm
      @TritonsRealm  3 года назад +2

      Wow. The river dive sounds like an adventure. If we can fit it into our schedule, we're thinking about diving the St. Clair River near Port Huron, MI, in early 2022. I understand the visibility may be better in the winter months, but the water temperature is cold.

    @Triton's Realm Tha was great, it remembers me a site called Los Tubos in Puerto Rico it's always like that strong current you have to fight with your life to get in and out of the water, but when the visibility is good you a a blast.

      @TritonsRealm  3 года назад +1

      Very cool. We’re planning some more diving in Puerto Rico in December. Where is Los Tubos?

    • @WMCLComputers
      @WMCLComputers 3 года назад +1

      @@TritonsRealm Los Tubos is located in Manati. But if you are planning to go to Puerto Rico definitely you have to go with San Juan Diver in Guanica to do the wall and shark dive. Also if you have the opportunity to go to the Mosquito Pier in Veques, that's another great Dive, The is all a thought boat shipwreck in Culebra and a B29 Bomber in Agudilla. Almost any dive in Culebra island is a good day. Algo there are a couple National reserves that you can visit. Let me know if you need any help. I am currently leaving in Orlando FL and diving springs but I have a bit more tha 500 dives around Puerto Rico. Also the is another place the call Las Cuevas de Isabela the marine life is not tha great but it is a natural reef cavern that are awesome to dive.

    Hi Jeff awsome ! The vis looked like a good day in lake Erie !
    The weekend before last I was doing the same thing here !
    it had been blowing for a week the surf was up there was about 25 surfers the vis was zero got caught in the rip good swim to get out so I ditched the tanks and snorkeled with the surfers !
    punching thru the waves was fun and body surfed back in the rip current was going across the beach and along the pier after surfing in with the waves you got in the rip and it took you right back out in the lake to where the comers started if you kept head to the waves no problem Just duck down but coming from behind I got nailed a few times I made some videos of the surfers with their go pros for them.
    I seen a little fish swim by in the video do you know what kind it is ?
    Pretty Gung ho Jeff surfers is up go diving any way
    I liked how you were going back and forth with the surge
    Must have been a challenge with the camera gear
    Have a great day

      Wow! That sounds like another crazy adventure. I didn't even realize you could surf Lake Erie.
      While I was kicking out, I thought, "humm, I should have left the big camera behind, " but it was too late by then. I managed it but having the big camera did make things more challenging.

      Hi Jeff they don't surf here all the time the surfers watch the weather and go to where the waves are
      Lake Erie here is 55 miles across only 75 ft deep it was blowing on shore 55 to 60 miles an hour the waves built up pretty big the storm surge took out some docks and sunk three 40 ft yachts meanwhile we were having fun at the beach
      The wind surfers were out also those guys got skill one guy jumped the break wall went across the harbour and jumped the wall on the other side
      There is video on line if you Google "port stanley storm damage " I don't know how to
      Capture the link?
      Have a great day !

    Body surfing crescent bay with my buddies and the waves were 5 to 8 ft plus and these heads with masks start breaking the water we were on shore watching these knuckleheads trying to get to shore it was quite a spectacle watching these divers getting worked and pounded by the waves it was quite funny they should not have been out there we felt bad for the overweight man that got slammed into the shore on a beach break his buddies pulled him out but slowly each diver was getting pounded over and over we counted 9 divers total and it was a great show lasted about 1.5 hours of pure enjoyment
