The purpose of recall is to get your permission to use your computer as a remote cloud. Someone should read all of the fine print and find the ambiguous language giving Microsoft access to your computer's resources and your information. They'll say it's encrypted, and then later in the super tiny print, say something about what they can do for "routine maintenance" and something giving them permission to change the permissions later on whenever they feel like it, subject to blah blah blah.
*_I realized this without reading any fine print. You are the product regardless of it's paid or unpaid._*
Not to diminish totalrecall, but the data was laughable insecure. No encryption whatsoever, stores images as extensionless jpegs, sqlite is the most used database probably ever and is easily browsable with off the shelf tools. MS should be ashamed.
If you’re going to have the article on screen and read it, can you PLEASE scroll as you read?
22:26 Since around 1998, as defined by ISO 80000-13 standard, 1 MiB (mebibyte) = 1048476 bytes, 1 MB (megabyte) = 1000000 bytes.
What is the point of recall?? You already have history when browsing, you sofware like photoshop that autosaves your progress and sometimes allows you to backpedal. If you wanted to "recall" what you are doing couldn't you simply do a screen recording of your screen and save or erase that file when you are done?
Everybody is talking about the privacy implications of Recall but the first thing i thought is that it will reduce the life expectancy of SSDs greatly because it's constantly writing data.
right now the screens just do OCR but in future on laptops with dedicated NPUs, I assume they would process the screenshots locally and answer questions like "What were the username of my teammates in X game Y days ago?" "What settings did I change in X app Y days ago as it has stopped working since?"
Christie's is a high value action house. So if you wanted to sell your picasso, that is where you would go. Those details would be of some of the wealthiest people on the planet. (If the are not using a broker.) Edit auction not action
"But it was encrypted, how did they get the unencrypted data from memory!?"
MiB = windows actually uses this however they label it as MB or mega bytes
If there is a way to let the adblock disabled just for this channel, let me know, though the ads still show on my phone and TV when I'm not using newpipe. It's the best way I can support it right now.
money is tight for me but I am not oppoused to using the youtube superthanks for occasional donations if that is something that can help make this podcast a long lasting part of my week
If you can, sure! Every bit helps. That said, definitely make sure you're taken care of first! -N

That's good, hold people accountable for their speech, especially if it's defamatory. It's not just haters, harassments and even slander. The information is probably used to be served a lawsuit. Some countries defamation law isn't as strict as US, so it's easier to sue. Korean society is more strict, as Kpop Idols, in the past have committed suicide due to mass online harrassment, threats, etc... So the Korean Gov takes it very seriously.
That's not good. People need to toughen up and not get upset by written words. Freedom of speech needs to prevail.
the world wide wed and its users aren’t beholden to the lowest common denomintaor for freedom of speech
in b4 i get a 6-month sentence for some gamer trash talk.
Fellas. Is it an appropriate response to Sue because someone insulted you on the Internet?
