This video and comments are very helpful to me as I have this same 48' trailer and am new to step decks. When I have to load one of these I will be better prepared. Thank you.
Fun fact, that looks like a 53 foot trailer, if so you’re not legally allowed the overhang off the back. Also you can’t even get permits to be legal since it’s multiple pieces. I would have put some friction mat on the deck in front of the rear tires of van 1, flipped the ramp over and used it to raise the back of the van up. I’m guessing where it was hitting the step got pretty beat. Love your content though. Flatbed and step deck are a constant learning experience!
@mikesoldavini3131 it may look like a 53 with that deck space behind the rear trailer, but it isnt. 48' measured and double checked when purchased, mainly bc i thought they messed up and gave me a 53 for the price of a 48 lol ive learned sooooo much since i made this video. I was basically brand new at stepdeck when i hauled this
@coryhoover01 the world stops spinning without diesel! Delivered machinery for an EV manufacturing warehouse a few weeks ago too. Need them diesels to get you all your parts and machines!!
Great idea! Ive learned so much since this video and have realized stepdeck is a lot of improvising lol have hauled around 5 low clearance fuel trucks and some had some serious improv to get them on and off haha
No shit!! Haha that is hilarious! You should have said hey. I would have loved that lol no a/c and tried getting it done there and they wanted $2,100 for a $500 repair so I left. I'm in Phoenix at an all Mexican radiator shop and they're fixing me up for 500 lol
Rule #1 Before you put it on the deck get the vehicle behind the trailer center it get a reference on your trailer you got lines and go , loading a water truck on a land doll is a pain cause you can’t even see shit but the edge on the step line up with the edge of the trailer will do it. Herc rentals 💯
Hey bro next time just put underneath the buss a couple old car tires that way when bouncing the bottom never touch the trailer neck u know worry free and no noise hahhhhh don’t worry
Where were you when i needed you most? Lol i didnt get the first one on video, when i stepped up with full confidence like i was climbing in my truck. I think my spine compressed about 2" lmao

use the ramps to drive on to raise the back end. just keep the ramps under the rear wheel when you chain it down.
Use your ramps. Flip them over. Run tne rear tires up on them. Works great

I'm a car hauler, and a rule we work by, is that you must have a minimum of a fist width of room, between the vehicle and your deck.
Yea it was kinda fucked. I told them it was way too close for bouncing and they told me to send it like that. Got it in writing and off i went
Is this a 48ft?
It is
Sitting beside you at the little america in Flagstaff

“My lungs suck” haha
Btw the clearance for your head on the e350 is lower than your truck. Just an fyi 🤣

If they don't fit on the bottom deck not worth it play with these loads
It really wasnt that hard. $5 a mile in todays economy is worth it for sure
