    Hi Geoff glad you got yours working ok and your video kicks of with a good start, I dont know if mine will be a good start as I ordered mine on Sunday and still not received them, The only contact I have had is an Email saying order confirmed and no other communication form them. I have had letters post and items arrive to me from Ebay, Amazon, Hattons and people that had been sent out Tuesday and Wednesday so for me not the best start lots hope they work ok. Apart from that M8 good video.

      Thanks Tim, Fingers crossed they arrive soon. They were send Royal Mail 1st class signed for (I've still got the envelope in front of me lol), my post has been completely mad (I understand and i'm not having a go at RM) I've had some stuff arrive in a day and others take over two weeks. I'd say they will be worth the wait though :)

    Must order some up, I have had problems ever since purchase of my GWR HST, so annoying and using blue tack to cure at mo..cheers, Chris

    • @PrideParkway
      @PrideParkway  4 года назад

      I have been known to use Blue Tack in the past too but its still not that reliable. These work a treat. Its bizarre how the same coaches from the same manufacturer can perform so differently but these couplings definitely solve the problem. Cheers Geoff

    Thank you for showing me how to install the hunt couplers in n gauge, I’ve been tearing my hair out and ruined two couplers trying to install them, they seem to large for the nem socket

      Hi Roger, No problem at all, glad you found the video useful! All the best, Geoff

    Agree they look good, I used the Dapol dummy knuckles which came with the coaches and seem to be more reliable than the Rapido's. They look good but can be fiddly to rail.
    You can also use the Dapol knuckles for the HYAs, use a long / short or two longs and you should avoid buffer lock.
    Cheers

      Hi Mark, thank you for taking the time to watch the video. I've just had a delivery of the longer ones from Hunt Couplings so will be interesting to see how they work. I'll update you in my May layout update. Cheers Geoff

    Hi Geoff - second video of yours I've looked at today!! Eager to get some hunt couplings for my East Coast liveried HST (power cars + 6 coaches). They were sold out unfortunately last time I checked. I'll be interested in how they perform as my inner loop is pretty tight radius wise - should be okay in the outer two loops as they are much more gentle. Great review of the product. Cheers Euan

    • @PrideParkway
      @PrideParkway  4 года назад +1

      Thanks Euan, I really must add that livery to the collection. As you might have noticed i'm slightly obsessed with the HST, i'm also really hoping Cavalex get the Class 91 project off the ground in N gauge too. I heard from Chris at West Hill yesterday and they will be launching an n gauge coupling that is slighly longer , should be available in the next few days. Fingers crossed though the ones you have are good. Cheers Geoff

    Cheers Geoff, just waiting for my couplings to arrive for my HST set for Shrewford, my minimum curves are 2nd radius so hope they go round these ok...
    Love your layout layout by the way, have subscribed :)
    Cheers,
    Mark

      Fingers crossed! they should be ok, I tested them on my tightest radius, if not they are also releasing some slightly longer ones in the next few days. Thanks for your support Mark, really appreciate it. Cheers Geoff

      Haha I've been obsessed watching for these to appear in n gauge, i missed the first batch on Sunday evening but after checking the website every hour I got some from the second batch. it helped pass some lockdown time lol
      Chris has just said that they are working on the longer version too so i'm now eagerly awaiting them for the hoppers.

    Hi Geoff, I’ve just caught up on all of your episodes, this one being very interesting, I knew about Hunt Couplings but hadn’t realised they had released them in N Gauge yet. I must say I have enjoyed all episodes and you’re building a layout to be proud of, it looks great. I’m gaining many ideas as I have just started building my layout and have released my first RUclips video. I’m at the building baseboards stage, I think I have much the same size area as you so N Gauge goes a long way and I can’t wait to get started, Kind Regards John

    Hi Geoff another very opportune video as I ordered some only yesterday 😁 Like you, I have had endless problems with Dapol couplings in particular failing 😱 your tips hopefully will lead to happier running sessions in future 🤞🏻 Many thanks and best wishes from County Wicklow ☘️

      Thanks Paul, its bizarre how exactly the same coaches can behave in completely different ways. I'd definitely recommend removing the boogie and holding the NEW pocket in place with your thumb. Makes the job much easier. Cheers Geoff

    Hi Geoff just a query regarding the Hunt Couplings I noticed you have installed power bases to a section of your layout have you tried an HST over this to see what happens ?

    • @PrideParkway
      @PrideParkway  4 года назад

      Hi Brian, apologies for the delayed response i totally missed your comment. No i dont intend to run the HST's on the inclined track. I have however now fitted the Class 66 and Rake of hoppers with the couplings and they work fine on the power base, i'll include a clip in my June update (should be next week). All the best Geoff

    Great review, cheers for the info, out of curiosity, what reason do you say they are suitable for fixed rakes only? Was thinking of investing in these for all my passenger stock, however don't have a fiddle yard so whenever I want to run, they go on and off the layout each time, cheers.

    • @piccadillymodelrailways
      @piccadillymodelrailways 4 года назад

      I imagine they will be very easy to pull apart. I think Geoff is referring to the idea they don’t uncouple automatically, in other words not suitable for shunting and separating stock on the layout.

    • @greatdeltan6556
      @greatdeltan6556 4 года назад

      @@piccadillymodelrailways ah I see what you mean, cheers

    • @PrideParkway
      @PrideParkway  4 года назад +1

      That's right, they can be very easily pulled apart by hand, so no good for shunting. Its also worth remembering that as they are magnets you will need to make sure that you get a positive and negative connection if you are mixing coaches, i put one coach on the layout the wrong way and couldnt work out what was wrong... its the simplest thing but you've got to get it right. Thanks for the sub as well Great Deltan, much appreciated. Cheers Geoff

    • @greatdeltan6556
      @greatdeltan6556 4 года назад

      @@PrideParkway are they easy enough to pull apart, so that they wouldn't be suitable for long freight rakes?

    • @PrideParkway
      @PrideParkway  4 года назад +1

      @@greatdeltan6556 It takes a fair bit of pressure to pull them apart, so I'm sure they would work fine for freight. I'm going to order some more once the longer version is available for my hoppers and i'll post an update on my Facebook about them :)
