    Wow. What an update, Geoff! The big picture looks superb, but the little details like the gravel path and steps, disused mine branch, flowers, and subtle changes in grass, really do take it to another level. Those running shots at the end were breathtaking. You’ve come back with a bang, that’s for sure! Hope everything works out. Travel must not be a good place to be this year. All the best sir. - Michael.

    Hi Geoff, all looking great. Some fab work and great shots of stuff running through. WWS are local to me, they do some great products and not just static grasses. Regarding the Spatts, you'd think we've got enough problems to solve at the moment without having a go at each other, must be frustration creeping in. They need to take up railway modelling and become involved in a relaxing hobby and a supportive community. Keep safe buddy, regards Bobby 'T'.

    Back with a bang Geoff. Best 30 mins I have spent today. Superb vid mate and the finished result is stunning. You flock in the same way I do. I have also grassed on top of the brown undercoat whilst it is still tacky and the base layer of grass has stuck without any issues. I also use cheap hair spray to give the top a final coat. It works perfectly. I take my layout to shows and nothing has dropped off. The running shots looked brilliant. Well done. Looking forward to the next update. Keep safe best regards Jeff

    My goodness Geoff, watching your intro and totally understanding where you are coming from in these strange and scary times and all of a sudden I am looking at the scene in front of you and thinking 'I dont remember seeing that, have I' and then the next shot shows the bare baseboard. WOW. I had to go back and make sure I wasn't seeing things, it looks awesome.
    At this moment I am drinking a Whisky Mac, missus is cooking dinner and baking cookies and the smells are wonderful and I am watching my favourite N gauge RUclipsr, life could not be better.
    I just love your approach to your layout, it is very true about less is better, it just makes your layout look so realistic.
    For ages I have been pondering what type of hoover to get for my layout and you have finally solved it for me, thankyou.
    So I have come to the end of your video and wishing it was longer. Where on earth did you learn how to use all the types of grasses and bushes to make such realistic banks. I am biased being a fellow N gauge fan. You have one of my favourite layouts and I am really looking forward to the next video.
    Regards Chris

    • @PrideParkway
      @PrideParkway  3 года назад

      Hi Chris, I hope you're keeping well, certainly sounds like my kind of Saturday night!
      Haha I had a similar moment when I was editing the video, I opened the first clip that I had recorded (the brown baseboards) and got a real shock at how much I had done. I have spend almost every evening up there for two weeks, and a full weekend. It was certainly the distraction I needed and i'm proud to have achived something great at such a negative time and reading all the great comments tonight is fantastic.
      I'm a big fan of both Luke Towan and Geek Gaming Scenics channels, they do some great videos using static grass, and while not n gauge specific, I followed their advice. I've also got a thing against sparce countryside settings, you just have to look at one bramble bush over a year and see how big and crazy it gets. Anyway, I'm babling on (thats why my videos are so long lol).
      All the best Chris, take care!
      Cheers Geoff

    • @Chris-BognorRegis
      @Chris-BognorRegis 3 года назад

      Yep I follow both Luke's along with Richard of Everard Junction amongst the other 63 on my channel LOL. Richard does a really good one called Part 17 Starting branch line scenery which is very similar to yourself but he is 00 gauge.
      One of the things I did to cheer me up is get rid of BBC news on my mobile, in fact I dont watch any news now but I do check re Covid 19, and it has cheered me up no end along with my fantastic happy pills. I suffer with PTSD (x army, LFB and old bill)
      No wonder you got all that done on your layout, I did wonder. My trouble is I love to watch other RUclipsrs layouts, sort of an addiction along with the fact I am 64 and still working a full time job thanks to the government. I get home at 5.30pm, take the dog for a long walk, have dinner then sit down and next thing its time for bed to do it all over again. Weekends are always busy so my layout is in preparation for retirement hopefully in 18 months time then I can really crack on with it. Hoping by then to at least have all the baseboards up and some if not all the track laid down.
      I look at the countryside around me as I live in the countryside and I want to copy that which is why I love your scenery. I want realism but most in the hobby try to cram far too much in. I dont like tunnels for the sake of having one in a corner, how many times in reality do you see a tunnel with a new housing estate just on top of it, where do all the drains, pipes and cable from the estate go to. I even observe animals in fields so I can copy them when I finally get round to it. Oh I could go on, it doesn't mean it's a bad layout, just not my style but I still love watching them.
      Yeah you totally deserve all those lovely comments mate, cannot believe some idiot gave you a thumbs down.
      Regards Chris

    Geoff, great video. You certainly go overboard with the glue, especially with the bushes. I normally just use the undiluted white glue to hold the bushes, but I also do not put in as much as you do. Will have to try your method whenever I need a lot of bushes.

    Brilliant job Geoff. No I dont think its overkill how you do your scenics but I wouldn't as I do mine exactly the same. It's looking great I particularly like the tunnel area with the trees and bushes, but it all looks great. 30 seconds to do all that ballasting though, wow, do you fancy doing mine lol. Love the shots at the end great camera angles thanks for sharing cheers Andy

      Hi Andy, Ah ha, great minds think alike lol. Thanks as always for your support and kind words. I'm one of those strange people who actually doesn't mind ballasting, I find it quite relaxing, well until I glue a point which happens everytime! Thanks again, stay safe! All the best, Geoff

    Awesome work! Looking good, I see you mentioned the new dapol voyagers on the Facebook page, they'll look brilliant on this layout, have you decide as to what livery you'll be getting? Cheers. Dan

      @PrideParkway  3 года назад

      Hi Dan, Hope you're keeping well. Absolutely, so I bought a second hand 221 in Virgin livery a few weeks back, I just need a chip for it (or three lol), so I would most likely go for the Cross Country livery for my modern running sessions. What about yourself? All the best, Geoff

    • @greatdeltan6556
      @greatdeltan6556 3 года назад

      @@PrideParkway I can't decide! I currently have 3 voyagers, 2 in virgin and 1 Cross country so I'd love to make my cross country set into a 10 car twin set, but the avanti does look nice! And yes, it's an ache to have to buy 3 Decoders for each one!

    first time i've come across you mate. Nice layout :)
    But came to comment on what you said at the beginning. Sorry about work stuff for you. You're right lods of people are struggling and you were humble to "not go on about it," but everyone who's struggling (me included!) deserves people looking out for them and to have people's sympathy (or "empathy" would be a better word in this self obsessed world!)
    Also appreciated what you said about steering clear of drama and negativity. You seem like a sound guy with your head screwed on.
    Anyway, pointless comment over! Good luck mate, i'll be back to watch more vids :)

      Hi, thanks so much for checking out the channel and for dropping me a note, its very much appreciated.
      I hope you're ok, if you ever need someone to chat model railway rubbish with feel free to get in touch, some times we just need a distraction in this crazy world. Easiest way to get in touch is Facebook or Twitter @PrideParkway. Stay safe and all the best, Geoff

      @@PrideParkway i'm actually one of those crazy people who watches this stuff even though they don't do the hobby! :D
      But appreciate the response and the offer. Now is the time where making any contacts is a positive thing.
      I'm ok mate, got people looking out for me and things will get better, just a tough time for so many people, and so much uncertainty isn't it.
      Like i said, i'll be back to see your progress, good luck mate :)

    Superb mate looking great.do you use a 6ft way gauge to space your tracks ? If so which part streamline process set track ?

    Great stuff Geoff. I luv what you do very inspiring. Keep it up. I’m building an OO gauge in the loft still doing the wood work. Put the back scenes up first and the silver insulation like yours up. Now on with the woodwork. Maybe I should have gone for N gauge. But like what is available for 00. Lots of second hand stuff a bit cheaper on eBay. So been adding to my collection. Now my second layout so all your information helps me. Did you consider 00 gauge? I honestly never even thought about it. I had a Hornby 00 set as a child. So never thought about N gauge. What’s your take on it. Any advise would be appreciated. Cheers 🍻

      Hi Stephen, Thanks very much for your comment, I appreciate your support!
      Likewise as a child I had a 8 foot by 6 foot 00 layout in the loft at home, my favourite train was my Hornby Intercity 125 (in original blue/grey livery) I always got frustrated with the fact that as the train left the station it was back again too soon.
      For some reason that has always stuck in my head. A few years ago I got back into the hobby and built a layout in my garage, I had a space of 2m square and with little knowledge of what stock was available i immediately decided it would be n gauge so that I could fit more in the space.
      N gauge is really developing thanks to people like Revolution trains and you can get some great detailed models. My biggest frustration as a East Coast Mainline fan is the lack of a good Class 91 and MK4's in n gauge, so for that reason I've had thoughts of moving to 00 gauge but i'm too commited/invested into N gauge for now. Fingers crossed Cavalex will come good with the n gauge 91 and MK4's they tell me its still in their plans.
      Oh and yeah, you're right there, there is a very small second hand market for n gauge and some of the models go for silly money, so OO is much better for that reason. Cheers Geoff

      Okay Jeff IU using Atlas code 55 regular rail for my Industries and I'm using the same track you're using for my double-track main line. The problem with PECO code 55 it's almost like code 88 does not match up well with the atlas code 55 I should have used the other brand
