    The knot technique used to secure the pickle allowed for an aggressive and fast pull by the climber. The knot held so tight that the climber had to do a bit of work (but not too much) to get the secure pickle loose, and yet it was still undamaged. A+ execution. In all my years in the field, I have never attempted this, and now that someone proved that it is possible and demonstrated proper technique, I will have the confidence to give it a try. Thank you so much.

    I love my Ryobi 12" 18v for chipper ground work. Battery saws are great for smaller jobs, quick cuts and small yard home owners. I haven't touched my 16" gas saw in a couple years because of the 18v battery saw.

    Just used one of these for hurricane cleanup.. I was low on oil mix and everything was closed so I used it to delimb up to 6” limbs and it actually works very very good.. lasts pretty long on a 12.0 battery.. I mean it’s no a gas saw but it got the job done and allowed me to conserve the little fuel I had helping someone in an emergency

    I’ve been running the little Milwaukee for 3 years now cutting firewood. It’s amazing what the little saw will do if like you said you keep an open mind. One thing that’s a huge upgrade for it, get an Oregon .050 gauge bar and then stihl full chisel chain. It’s significantly better with no noticeable loss of battery life, larger cutters that last more sharpenings and most important of all, you’ll hardly ever throw the chain anymore.
    Now, with all that being said. This year i finally upgraded I found a stihl msa300c. It’s head and shoulders above the Milwaukee, more powerful, will cut in one battery what the Milwaukee takes 3-12ah batteries, it has dual dogs and it cuts plenty fast to fall trees with. It’s no 660 but it’s supposed to keep up with the 261. Very impressive for a battery saw.

    Oooohhh...I didn't know Milwaukee had a top handle saw! I have their M18 in this video, the M18 pole saw, and the M12 hatchet. I really like them! Always had a MS180 in the past for keeping up with 5 wooded acres...but now all I use is the M18. I bought a MS311 for larger stuff, but anything 12" and under gets the battery saws. Earlier this year, I rented a boom lift to drop a couple trees, and to limb a half dozen more. I used the M18 rear-handle to drop the 2 trees, and the pole saw and hatchet to limb the rest. They are winners in my book!

    I'll be honest, I wasn't too sure about this battery powered chainsaw stuff. Then I wanted the M18 Quik Lok head for quick weed eating and pole sawing and they had a promo where I got the rear handle chainsaw for free, with the Quik Lok kit. That dang thing if frickin handy if a guy only has to make a few cuts. I can't wait to see if it does better with their new batteries they have coming out.

      I've found that in general, battery tools are better if you need something where convenience is a big plus. My dad uses his Makita saw to maintain my parent's property, and he prefers it to his gas saw because of just how much more convenient it is. Now, his gas saw only comes out if he has a dead tree to cut down.

    Just dropped a dead standing oak over 33" at the base with mine. Ran 2-6ah batteries and was a bit much for them and probably the saw too. Got it on the ground with 1 battery and got 2 complete cuts near the base with the other battery. Smaller softwood I'm sure would be no issue at all. Now the hatchet I picked up with it is a mean little mofo, will be my go to around the house for anything 6" or less.

      They get taught how to use stuff, explained why it's dangerous, and I'm more than happy to let them run stuff supervised once they can handle it.
      Take the curiousity away, make them use it as a tool, and all of a sudden it's work and not play.

    Fuel is brushless motors, the non fuel Milwaukee is brushed motors....

    • @leftyeh6495
      @leftyeh6495 Год назад +1

      Not quite. Fuel is the premier line of brushless. Then they have a cheaper line just labeled "brushless". Then they still have a few of the old brushed tools that just say M18. The cheaper brushless stuff is pretty much just rebranded ridgid (as TTY industries also makes ridgid and ryobi).
      Fuel stuff is the most expensive, but also the most overbuilt and heaviest. I still have some older M18 stuff from before they made fuel and sometimes it is nice to drop some weight if you don't need the power. I would never buy anything but the fuel line to have as my one and only though, as it does have way more power especially with a 8.0 or 12.0 battery.

      They are cheap. It's just relative. I was happy to pay $2200 for a crimper, when the alternative was a $4500 greenlee.
      For the normal drills and impacts, they are cheaper than tools half their price if you're using them to get paid. I've noticed those who buy cheap tools (ryobi owners) don't know just how painfully slow and shitty their tools are. My buddy about shit when I had a fight with his ryobi multi-saw, and went and got my milwaukee out of the truck and blew through stuff without even slowing down. We had spent 10 minutes getting nowhere with the ryobi.
