I'd be more sympathetic if those people were the targets rather than ordinary people just trying to make a living. Whilst I also accept that unless there's radical changes, everybody is going to be negatively affected by a massive amount. And like most things, the poorest across the planet will be hit the hardest.
Why should the middle class give up the highest standard of living humanity has yet known? Especially when hydraulic fracturing means there are hundreds of years of oil and gas in the ground. We should use these to boostrap civilization to fission and fusion energy, but we shouldn't strangle our energy supply now.
😂 ok KAREN
the middle class feel entitled to take everyone else's cars away you mean
You can't do it that way, it doesn't work. You have to force change down from the top
Ironic that they are mostly elderly. Enjoyed the benefits of Oil their whole life, then when close to the end act all pius and righteous. Hypocrites
Actually your comment can be politely addressed. Most if the elderly people will have experienced a childhood during or at least just after ww2. If you imagine walking 10 miles to work and no food off ration with a handful if coal a week then compare to what you take for granted? Even I had icicles inside the house with frost inside the windows and that was 1960.
Exactly, also profiteered from the housing boom.
Imagine that witch telling u this is about children while stopping u seeing ur children, I’d straight out ask her how many abortions has she had.
*pious, not pius.
Wow! You guys are so into yourselves!
“This is for the children” sickening me
And they drive to every protest. In a car.running on oil.oh....the irony.
Nah, you could just say "how was that banner made?" ( Or clothes )
@@Carlium What about the products they routinely use each day? Exactly!
"You want to change society, yet you live in the society - hypocrite"
One message: Just stop oil
*proceeds to leave macdonalds*
In a van!
Just to let you know that was very much not the plan, we got pinned down by a helicopter and 2 drones so the primary approach on foot got scuppered. McDonald’s ended up being the only meeting point open at 3 am that didn’t look too weird having that number of people milling around. Far from ideal, but you work with what you’ve got x
@@talkstrainings6169 excuses
@@talkstrainings6169 that doesn’t explain your use of the van and use of fossil fuels.
@@talkstrainings6169 Your channel is really new, and there's nothing to verify the idea you were here... can you prove this in any way? Any veracity to show?
They are the most hated group in the nation.
The second these nutters get violent they'll get beaten by the public
its boris and his big business friends that are the criminals
Where I live this would be hijacking and kidnapping. And I live in California.
'Risking a heavy fine', no. As long as these groups are useful to the government and the establishment press, they won't suffer too much inconvenience.
They are going to loose their minds when they figure out how lithium ion batteries are mined 🤯
If theres no more oil then most machinery will cease to work after a while
That's a really basic understanding of it, but yeah, and many more issues.
There is no way we can stop 100percent of the oil, thats fantasy
Exactly these people live in fantasy worlds, the world doesn’t work that way
Okay. It sure can be *_significantly_* cut down.
@@LaserBread Agreed
Thank you for this great documentary.
Well if we started throwing these climate activists into furnaces we could save a lot of oil , LOL !
👏👏👏
It’s funny to me they talking about insulation and oils etc yet they seem to be using a lot themselves such as the lady in the house unless her whole house is solar powered or something hunny you using oils minerals etc to heat ur house to put the lights on
If they want to stop oil, why are they not collaborating to find out alternatives through research and development and then promoting and advertising a healthier, safer and better alternative as a group of protestors, instead of harassing the general public and wasting time.
Least their not sat at home eating crisps and watching love Island. Hope for the future...
But I like crisps 😔
Every social change has to be obstructive or violent. They're no different than fighting for the rights of women, LGBT people, race, disability...
Or the black shirts, the communists and so on
Oil isn't an inherent characteristic of a human being being oppressed by bigoted jerks.
Oil is ITSELF required to create the technology necessary to end its use, and to stop global warming. If it suddenly wasn't available the world would no longer have the luxury of excess resources to deploy on long term change, nor the will to do so.
No
trying to force political change through the threat of violence is literally the definition of terrorism.
Violent disabled people
Get the liquid manure truck from the farmer and then unleash the fire...
How daft can someone get?
Self aware, I see.
Do these people know the amount of thing we use oil for all if the things we make that are made using oil like rubber tires, plastic and some of the parts in silicone chips in our computers and other smart devices.
Anyone who says “just stop oil” reveals a level of ignorance that is incomprehensible.
Keep pumping oil
Why not protest in Moscow or Beijing
Telling your version of what you believe is the truth.
The great thing about convincing yourself you're right is you only ever have to think one thing. It's interlectual cowardice.
Stop oil by driving in an automobile
“Just stop oil” but they don’t come up with an alternative or a solution to it. And they wonder why the general public aren’t on their side
There's plenty of alternatives to oil. Electric cars. Hydrogen planes. Bio-plastics. The solutions exist, but money and politics are actively blocking change out dragging their heels.
Edit - transition to nuclear and renewables for the electricity
where does the electricity come from to power these electric car (and if you say wind and solar my next question is how do you charge then on a windless evening?). And that’s before to start rapeing Africa of it cobalt to produce the batteries. How do you make hydrogen and store it (i’m know quite a bit about this and am in favour with the use of wind power. Problem is you’re still replying on the oil and gas companies in a different way)? Do know who did the most for the environment in recent years, the Chinese government and how they handed covid, stopped all unnecessary travel to and from work or country to country travel.
@@sblahful
And the oil that lubricates the gears in those cars?
How about the diesel used to dig up the ore for the raw materials?.
Or the oil in the transformers on the electricity grid?
Even the coal in the steel?.
Please learn how the REAL world actually works.
They're not doing this for the children They're just trying to get their faces on screen and impress each other
Amazing they meet at MacDonalds, traveling in a taxi that needs the oil they want to stop.
Everytime i hear of their activities i buy a liter of gasoline to dump in the sea.
bro if the world stops oil thre will not be no jobs nothing
shouting "stop oil" but still driving cars, aren't we ?
idk about you guys but going onto a live f1 track when cars are going 150+mph isnt the smartest.
I remember hearing of a time when elite , rich ,out of touch snobs controlled everything. While mocking the peasants. That led to the invention of the guillotine .
Just keep rolling on if they don’t go out of the way it’s their problem.
I blame the universities and media for pushing such nonsensical info. If you are going to fight something fight to stop geoengineering which should be your main target
We are aware that Fossill Fuels are causing harm. BUT ,what is the alternative ? At the present there is no alternative.
Don't look up
I think most people agree with your sentiment but not your methods.
The sheer arrogance of the older activists sending 2 young people to the Emirates stadium is awful
They literally said it's their own idea
Surprised they weren't beaten by the security forces
it was their own decision
@Jay Dee you think young people don't talk to one another?
The youth take their own actions. If you know anything about Just Stop Oil you would know that.
I wonder how many of these people drive cars.
How dare we live with luxury and convenience we should all be hungry cold and poor, is there a different agenda here
"I would join a protest online, on social media" She is ready to do some harmless virtual signaling. :D
I would be banned for what I would have wanted to say.
looks cold get the fire brigade out with the water cannons
You notice he sat there eating french fries. How does he think potatoes are harvested, processed and cooked? Hypocrites
Can i ask,do all of these people lead by example and do not own cars, motorcycles or use any form of public transport?
Or wear any clothing produced by, or from oil.
Dear liberals,
You hate the system, yet you are forced to participate in it.
Curious.
Sorry, your claims of so-called "hypocrisy" are invalid.
When protesters scream "just stop oil" after having a greasy breakfast at McDonalds. 🤣🤣🤣
Meets in McDonalds..... i am saying nothing
Have these dictators stop to think what would happen to the world's economy if we stopped using oil.
I am not an extremist. But I wonder how they will make sure that people and goods keeps traveling the world As it is the most vital link our humanity keeps thriving.
Cheers from France
A common thread on the comments, “I’m all for transitioning.......but......not today.”
Correct response: THEN WHEN, MF!!! *_WHEN??!!?!_*
just stop eating McDonalds !
The irony of their clothing and signage being petroleum based is absolutely not lost on me. The tone-deafness and self righteousness is grotesque.
See this is better than insulating oil in my opinion. Disrupting and attacking the problem, doing protests like the one at the footy match, that arent severely inconveniencing to any important needs of the general public. Buuut, is this being talked about as much. Who knows
I tried two petitions to parliament asking for standing charges to be removed from gas and electric, so using less cost less. Only a few hundred signatures. Protest needs a simple one message and these xr actions are doing the best they can. Of course not perfect. But neither are professional elected politicians.
Climate activists chilling in McDonald's...
Hey, it was very much not the plan, we got pinned down by a helicopter and 2 drones, so the original meeting point had to change and McDonald’s is the only place open at 3am around those parts. Believe me, far from ideal, but I’ve shut down McDonalds entire distribution network twice, so I think it balances out ;) x
@@talkstrainings6169 Omg you’re so cool 🤭🤭 how about get a job 🤣
If 3 to 4 years is not happening these people should be in prison
Go to Saudi Arabia and protest there.
Climate change refers to long-term shifts in temperatures and weather patterns. Such shifts can be natural, due to changes in the sun’s activity or large volcanic eruptions. But since the 1800s, human activities have been the main driver of climate change, primarily due to the burning of fossil fuels like coal, oil and gas.
"Not really" .
"It's two thousand and twenty.... two"
Who is this journalist? I love his style
Lol. If this is in the US, the cops would just go BAM!!!!
I mean, they wouldn't really. Think about if it was India or Bulgaria they tried this at...
dont even slow down, i bet they start scrabling out of the way
Action to stop geoengineering should be studied, not stopping the use of all hydrocarbons, which will cost the lives of millions of people
these ppl expect the world to run on the power of farts
Very, Very Realistic Request to Expect the UK to Stop Using Oil.
Very Practical. Very Doable.
Clearly they Understand the Matter Really Well.
Just keep driving they will move
Many thing those people use coming from oil and gas industry! Fertilizer, mobile device etc!
