Great rip! I'm super jelly. Slow down a little. Especially with a box like this. U passed over Glavine, Eric Davis, Dale Murphy, and a couple of others. Thanks for this video

Ironically, I remember when these came out, people couldn't give him away. It's amazing how the industry has changed it over the last 30 40 years. My biggest thing was collecting the kingriffry junior upper deck, which I now have 5 of and an unopened box was still the seal around it, but I bought from a dealership when my first came out, I was opening single packs and out of the 10 I bought. I got 5 Kenny griffins and just walked away after that.

Just to let you know about my 1993 Upperdeck in a plastic wraper unopened. Bought them new in 93 and decided to open them due to the price of Jeters roockie gold card being 10k. As soon as I opened it I could tell something is wrong. Sure enough the were all Bricked together. Stuck like glue. Looking for Jeter I noticed that every card was a gold hologram on back. When I found the Jeter I got it apart only to have 100s of tiny pieces of the back card stuck to the front. It's worthless. The whole fing box is shit. From what I understand I'm one of many that this has happen to. Moral of my story is be careful buying vintage unopened boxes. In future all my boxes will be opened and put in sleeves. Hope this info helps the next guy cause I'm still heartbroken.

The best of the best sets... and another product I was completely unaware of growing up collecting, although I'm sure even back then this would have been way out of my price range as an 8yr old lol... if I could have even found one back then, which by the way makes it even all the more impressive you found one this many years later. But seriously you deserve a standing ovation from all who get to watch this break because WHO ELSE would have the HUEVOS to open it? And who else is so altruistic to share this moment with all of us? Thank you for yet another amazing break, really enjoyed this whole series and what a way to end it!

Any tips/opinions on buying these sealed tiffany boxes? I am looking at one for $1900 - but not sure if the numbers make sense at that price (given that Griffey is the biggest card in this set and chances of getting a PSA10 are prob SUPER slim - so psa9s go for 1200...$700 shortfall :)

Awesome!! Man. I bought a complete set at Sams Club in ‘89 with my gparents. This is such a classic set. So different from everything else at the time. I wish I knew anything about sleeves and top-loaders back then.🤣 I still have all the “keepers”, but every corner is jacked. I kept it em in a binder, which didn’t have large sleeves…😫One of the best I own tho, is the Gwynn with his real auto over the facsimile. Thanks for sharing!! Cool series.👊

Hall of Famers and good players you missed: Greg Maddux, Paul Molitor, Tom Glavine, Carlton Fisk, Roberto Alomar, Jim Rice, Gary Carter, Harold Baines, Lee Smith, Dale Murphy, Joe Carter, Cecil Fielder, Griffey Checklist.
This is a classic set, but what kept it from having staying power was the size. If it had been normal size, I think this set would be way more popular today. That Griffey Sr./Griffey Jr. card was big when I was a kid. The Ripken one is cool because it has both Ripken kids with Ripken Sr.

I bought a couple boxes of those ugly Keith Shore 89 Bowman x wave 1 that came out a few months ago where all of the players are in the Griffey pose.

Anything less than a 10 and it's better to have left the box sealed. I know the only way to find out if you got a 10 is to open it, but unless this kind of money doesn't even make you flinch, play the odds and leave it sealed. That's what I'm doing with mine. Can't afford to break and get less than a 10.

How unfortunate! You just passed over Dale Murphy like he was trash! Murphy was one of the most dominant baseball players in the 80s, winning back-to-back NL MVP awards in 1982 and 1983. He would have hit around 500 homers if he had played in the short porch of Yankee Stadium for his entire career and been an ultimate legend and first-ballot Hall of Famer.
