I think when you reach their levels, you almost have to spend most of your time in public praising other people because otherwise you just come off as an arrogant egomaniac.
More like SoundHound. Or at least, it does better with humming/whistling/etc (and obscure songs) than Shazam in my experience. But I get that there's no joke there because even fewer people are familiar with SoundHound than Shazam, especially 4 years ago.
There was something about movies from 2003-2007 that hasn't been replicated since. Maybe it's just my childhood but the cinematography, writing, acting...mostly everything was better other than CGI. Interstellar was the first movie that gave me that nostalgia film making feeling

They rehearsed the show. Everything on Grahams show happens by script. Every star sitting on the couch has just a small time where he or she can shine his or her light. So they agreed on certain stories or jokes or funny stories before the show and then during the show either Graham or another one on the couch gives another a keyword and thus they deliver their prepared joke or story to entertain the audience. It's all scripted. In TV nothing is arbitrary. Everything works according to script.

Once they agree on certain topics of interest which both would like to cover, the talk show host is then given cue cards to rehearse so he knows what prompts to introduce to the interview and similarly the famous person is given a rough outline of what prompts will be brought up. I can definitely guarantee that jack black using Elton john as a shahzam was not part of the outline and similarly elton john talking about his adventure with the beckham kids was neither part of it too. That's where the talk show host comes in, as he's supposed to improvise and expand on a story hence 'have you ever seen it' in order to bring more into the story if there is. They all improvise and expand on a bullet pre-set bullet points, but the comedy (atleast on british tv) is definitely more authentic.

I started the race with Conan, hit a few potholes with Fallon, took a few interesting detours through Craig Ferguson, and have now reached the never disappointing destination of Graham Norton.
Jack Black needs to be in more comedies. The guy is just too funny. He reminds me so much of Jim Carrey. The amount of faces he can make and voices, is just hilarious. If you've ever seen Tropic Thunder you know how funny this guy can be. Its a shame he's not being the comedy legend that he really is. He's gone the "animated route" which is pretty much the route you take when vanishing from the face of the earth.
Can we take a moment to praise the producers of this show??? They had Jack Black and Elton John come out first and warm up their crowd and then Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson and Penelope Cruz to close it out. It was such a great couch with a lot of good stories. Great show.

Elton's always so positive about other artists - never seen him saying anything negative about anyone. The clip of him telling Metallica that they wrote one of the greatest songs ever (Nothing Else Matters) is great. I guess he just keeps quiet if he doesn't like something.
