- What’s that waving at Tiny Vu? Oh! It must be the crab, one of the three new mobs that wants to join Minecraft! The crab makes its home in the mangrove swamp and has one enormous claw! It doesn't just use it for waving at players (hello!) - this giant claw is actually very special. If a player manages to find one, they can use it to place blocks further away when building.
Vote for your favorite mob from October 13 at 5 pm UTC via the Minecraft: Bedrock Edition event server, the Minecraft Launcher, or on Minecraft.net! Voting is open for just over 48 hours, and closes 15 minutes after the show starts. The winner of the mob vote will be announced at Minecraft Live, so grab your snacks and get ready to tune into the show on October 15, from 5 pm UTC!

Just have your first 2 personally tamed dogs, sit somewhere nice and breed them for an army, you also have redstone wolf breeders that barely anyone actually uses...make yourself an army and use that army...i may not understand why people get so attached to their main wolfs...but just use those as breedeers then? How far does it extend your reach?
Does it have durability and if so how much?
Can it also be used to mine blocks further away?
Does it have to be a chest piece or an item you hold in your hand?
Can it extend the reach of a pick axe or can you even use a pickaxe or other tools with it?
Does it affect the reach of swords or does it not?
Mojang doesn't elaborate and people pick a mod just to regret it after it's added and it's frustrating. We have to ask them again and again until they give us a straight answer with every detail.

I feel like it should spawn in beaches, it’d be fun to have more than just the sea turtle there, but still a unique mob, can’t wait to see what comes next
in my quick research I think its based on the fiddler crab which can be found in mangroves
Would be really cool if they had a basic version that spawned on beaches, but only the ones that spawn in the Mangrove biome actually have the claw
@@BRDoriginal mangroves irl are found on coastlines, to protect the land from erosion. It would make more sense if there was mangrove beaches in minecraft, instead of them effectively being a second swamp biome.

@@JunDageki The Beach, Snowy Beach, and Stony Shore are all biomes.
The regular Beach has Turtles and Buried Treasure, while all variants can have beached Shipwrecks.

They decided to add a new mob to a biome that was also just added in the last update instead of an older biome... Mangrove and Swamps already got Frogs.

I think the crab is a clawsome mob. Although if it is voted in I think the developers will have a hard time moving forwards with it. Don't try to stop me, I can keep coming up with these claw day

The description only repeats what they say on the video apart from saying that they spawn on the roots of mangrove trees, so this one Is okay

I still remember the disappointment of Allay, a recent mob but so useless that sometimes everyone pretends it doesn't even exist.
Mojang REALLY needs to start revealing all the mobs at once. Everyone is getting hyped about the crab, and unless the other two have some really useful feature, they're definitely going to lose.
While I do agree, I also get why they do this.
And I’m not even sure If it even matters that much. In the past three years, the first mob won 1/3 and that is the number expected if they each had the same chance.

They might not have decided that yet though. If they say it gives a specific range then they can't really change that afterwards without a bunch of people getting mad.
At least it's not their responsibility when you're mad at your own assumptions.

@@TheRealNightModeIf the next mob is seagull, i bet that would win because we lack flying mobs in the overworld and parrots dont even fly that high on air. Having birds in the sky adds atmosphere to the game. Hopefully they add species of birds if this dont win because the game looks apocalyptic without them

I thought jokingly "maybe they will add a dedicated crab claw slot" but then I scared myself because I realized they actually might do that.
i would see the crab claw as a rare drop from a crab and would go into your off-hand like shields n stuff.
I'm thinking this one is going to be the winner. Upgrading your boat and upgrading your wolves are situational upgrades, and many players don't utilize either on a frequent basis (Elytra travel + fighting by yourself cuz minion combat is chaotic). Whereas extending block reach, while seemingly mundane, will be a power that players will be able to take advantage of always, which might make it favorable. So, that's my lock.

I am liking the Crab so far, the sound of being able to place blocks farther away than you normally would just sounds nice, really depends on what the other two mobs are going to do though, and if any of them will have a better feature than farther block placing.

@@timmyphillipi4566 What if, we used the armory and every time we upgrade our armor like say from Diamond to Netherrite, our inventory space slots increase? Or maybe it's a specific thing you can "Add" to your armor? Or simply just a backpack slot that expands maybe one more row of slots but it takes up your chest armor as a fair trade off. I think having a NON-Shulker way with your base inventory to carry more slots is truly what's needed.
Mob vote should just be the order they are added in you have the resources to make all three.
