I visited this facility on a sales call yesterday with the maintenance department. Most amazing thing I've ever seen to date. I used to drive a 379 extended hood years and years ago and they still make them, but upgraded model to 389. They still have the first truck they built along with a completely refurbished ole 39. I agree these trucks are really nice, I like the old school stuff. With the need on increasing fuel economy and making the trucks easier to ride in day after day, these changes are all necessary. Super clean place and they have it together. Great bunch of people at PACCAR and it started with meeting the receptionist. Super sweet lady and highly professional. Can't wait to go back. Going to dress like the assemblers so I can blend in with the crowd and just roam around in there all day. haha. This place is off the chain impressive. Go Pete!!
I got to tour the factory a few months ago for some training on the engines. It was cool but seeing how fast they have to work made me realize why so many trucks are breaking down fresh out of the factory
I would love to tour that plant. Did an after hours drive by in a car, with a buddy. I was at the T/A truck stop the next exit up. Passing thru town. I’ve toured the Gillig bus factory years ago. Was awesome, but only limited to customer reps purchasing buses.
