This is the first song that made me think of Jamiroquai for whatever reason, but the hooks on this are SO good! I LOVE how it seems like you're using your vocals like a synth at parts. Super Creative, as usual. You will influence a wave of Pop Music that has yet to come. Thank you so much for sharing your Art, Louis. Godspeed!
Filthy basslines, truly funky layered compositions, sexy but polite, that's one recipe he shares with Jamiroquai, you can tell that influence was digested and refined !
Louis Cole looks and sounds like a rock star but the lyrics and musical arrangements show his dedication to his craft without making it seem like he takes himself too seriously! Well done. I enjoyed that.
There is a profound, cosmic explosion of harmonies that hits at approximately 3:01 with approx 5 secs of setup and 5 secs of fade. Synth chord progressions combined with vocal layerings are absolutely jaw-dropping. 😮 I am not sure if it is legal to post such a harmonic masterpiece on the public Internet. Really cool how you apply a long deep reverb to certain specific words a t the end of certain verses, the album has such nuanced sounds and layers and so many styles and genres, incredible arrangements, vocals are really a stand out, it's really superb work man, cheers from Brazil.
Delivers as always! Great album Luis. I am grateful in today's shitty music trend there are musicians like you that put a lot of thought and craftmanship in their arrangements.
Stevie Wonder is his main influence here (which is why it sounds like Jamiroquai = excellent white boy singers channeling Wonder), which is what makes this track so great: he takes the influences and shoots them into outer space. This is Cole's best vocal yet, too, in which he proves that while he's a terrific pop, funk, and soul singer, he's a jazz singer at heart. Superb. He's getting better all the time.
Sooo many good songs to choose from! Dead Inside Shuffle, Park Your Car On My Face, but my favorite is True Love. So Beautiful! What are the chords lol?
I knew about him way longer. (over fourteen years when I was in High School) His R&B roots are never acknowledged by his white/Pomplamoose fans smh. I never seen the movie or that TV show, seemed like an Insecure ripoff smh, and I'm a Black guy btw. But good you found out about it on a Black drama show. Louis Cole should stick to soul music imo.
