This is for the Surface Pro 3. If you have to use DOS not GPT and FAT32 not NTFS or Exfat. Then copy all of the files in the image recovery zip file into the USB drive. You cant do a reset but recover the recovery drive first. If you do a reset, it will complain that the required partition does not exist and just stops. Its like watching paint dry. I learned this the hard way. Even I run an electronics repair shop and I had problems. If your SP3 goes into the UEFI screen automatically, it means you dont have correct partitions set up on your msata drive. Those messages are there to scare you. They means nothing. Just fix your recovery image USB drive.
