Hey again, came across some info in another vlog about Polvazares and why they may have changed the route and banned/'punished' the whole town. Back in '15 a pilgrim was lured away by 'fake' arrows and ended up at some guys house in Polvazares, who then killed her. Just after the path splitting and you talking about it, going left there is a new and very tall cross The Pilgrims Cross maybe for her Denise. There is also a mural/poster thing on the way out of Burgos. But sad also for the town, one of the original towns of the very early French Way.
Thank you for this! I know from other vlogs that the route does change or gets redeveloped over the years (I've often wondered why the early pilgrims would have taken some of the more difficult terrains when simpler, more direct routes were visible)! I do recall hearing about one-off incidents along the Camino - scary and disturbing nonetheless for those planning to walk.
👍
