@@normanred9212 it makes more sense too, with that octolings being much newer to splatoon's society after octo expansion/splat2. I love them (even moreso than inklings too)

Who is at the end and hoping their skill will bring a successful job. And then we jump off to get to work.

@@aedaniammx7559 Same, but I'm looking at their badges first to see if they have a specific boss badge to indicate they're good at defeating that boss. Steels Eels are really good for charger practice (Slammin' Lids too).
I think bringing back the S1 and 2 animations would be a smart way to have more poses for each weapon, and for the new classes they could get poses based off what they would have looked like in those games to match the style. That could be easier and a cool refrence while adding more options.
A detail I like with the ink tank is that it's really more like an ink pouch and you can see it flatten as the ink inside depletes. It's also easier to carry around and can just be rolled up after use rather than the big solid tanks from previous games
One detail I constantly see is that Brella users generally emote with more excitement when entering and ending matches. They always have a grin compared with others users who have a bit more of a serious game face.
Another fun fact about the Holograms is if you open and close the menu to reload them, the developers have actually made a fake load-in screen complete with the lobby’s logo that shows up for about half a second before the inkling/octoling shows properly!
One of my favorite examples of how much more personality the animation is what you see when you watch Deep Cut through the glass. Their body language is so incredible, Fyre especially stands out to me because I've *seen* people sit the way she does. Hands gripping her crossed legs and teetering herself back on occasion. Shiver remains politely seated and uses hand motions to be more expressive while Frye uses her entire body like she's the most excited and engaged in the conversation. And Big Man's mellow nature has him chilling behind the TV, waving his fins when he has something to contribute to the conversation. (Notice how most of it is between Shiver and Frye. Big Man's just happy to be there even if he's not talking.) It's incredible how much of the conversation you can just understand through body language without hearing a single word of dialogue.
I like how Nintendo used the beak of a squid (or octopus) as the 'teeth' of an inkling (and octoling). It's likely my favorite detail about their biology. Also, a Sunken Scroll from the first game explains that Inklings don't have bones, aside from their 'teeth', just like real squid and other cephalopods. At least, I think it's explained in a scroll in the first game. Could be mistaken.
@@exyzt9877 Why would they do that, giving accurate and correct information is way more useful to them than propaganda, they need to know about the enemy for a flawless victory, which they wouldn't get if they try to break their non-existent bones
Here’s another small detail about their character design: their haircuts always follow the rule of the number of limbs they have (except afro, afro’s weird but I guess you can count the sideburns as tentacles?…) Inklings will always have 6 tentacles for their hair and octolings will have 4. Their arms and legs count as limbs as well, making 10 total for inklings and 8 for octolings! Any tentacles not utilized for the main hair style will be delegated to the back of the head at the nape of the neck. Love the details in this game
There are a couple of characters and hairstyles that actually break this rule, but it does indeed exist for about 60% of the hairstyles. Marina and Pearl also follow it (However the Squid Sisters and Deep Cut do not)
the afro actually is meant to resemble the mantle (or 'head') of an octopus! that was explained in a dev interview that was never translated from japanese, i believe. it's still biologically accurate, just in a different way.

7:50 that jump shooting with 1 hand was also in Splatoon 2. I first noticed it in Salmon Run when you jump and shoot off a rail at Ark Polaris. That's cool that they used it for the squid surge too.
Something I would like is that you can choose personality treats (like the typical Energetic, Serious, Lazy, Confident, etc.). With that you could see unique animations or, at least, different facial expressions for all the inklings/octolings.
I always feel so shocked whenever i see splatoon 1 graphics compared to 3's graphics cause the game has just improved sm it's honestly crazy how much attention to detail there in splat 3
They really do imply weight i noticed this with the Dynamo roller if you jump with it, you slight move your feet outward to counter the weight when landing take another half step to stand normal. but with a light wepons like duolies you jump and you only land in the stable position and your character doesn't shift their body like heavier weapons.

When he asks if inclines have bones quick answer, no instead somehow they manage to have ink to be able to support it as if it were bums, which is why it has a similar structure
this one is small, and you can't really see it, but your inkling does this really cute smile when executing a full charge slash with the splatana. i saw that when i was taking pictures in recon lol
love the little differences between the octolings and inklings i hope you guys do a video expanding on that!!
You had good music choices for this video 😁
Oh no, you don't need to stop talking about the Splatling hug. Please let me hug all my weapons, Nintendo :)
Oh my god, i had NO IDEA for the holograms 😱
7:50 that jump shooting with 1 hand was also in Splatoon 2. I first noticed it in Salmon Run when you jump and shoot off a rail at Ark Polaris. That's cool that they used it for the squid surge too.
I knew quite a few of these but this was still a very interesting video. Amazing job with this man
Something I would like is that you can choose personality treats (like the typical Energetic, Serious, Lazy, Confident, etc.). With that you could see unique animations or, at least, different facial expressions for all the inklings/octolings.
I always feel so shocked whenever i see splatoon 1 graphics compared to 3's graphics cause the game has just improved sm it's honestly crazy how much attention to detail there in splat 3
They really do imply weight i noticed this with the Dynamo roller if you jump with it, you slight move your feet outward to counter the weight when landing take another half step to stand normal. but with a light wepons like duolies you jump and you only land in the stable position and your character doesn't shift their body like heavier weapons.
little fun fact: inklings at first glance might not have gender differences, however an inkling girl’s eyebrows are smaller than the boy’s eyebrows
Running animations and body shape is different too.
It’s not much but I still noticed it
Very Intriguing! You deserve more subs, feel like this video will blow up!
the splatling animation is back!!
If you hold down Y while walking, your player will look back while still walking instead of looking at you. Kinda neat.
I wonder if... The Inklings and Octolings in Splatoon 3 are from a different clan...
5:47 the thing that i dont understand its how the tube brings the ink out of the tank if there is no tube outside the tank
The roller smile scares me
Octo’s are more playful, so they jump between shops!
I first noticed the rolling facial expression by accident and it made me happy idk why though lol
God I was looking at this video and was thinking "Hey now theres reppin inkopolis emote which is a multi class emote as well" Then I looked at the date and realized that they predicted it. Awesome stuff guys
You literally get a halo with your special on, and I think it’s hilarious.
>Tenta Missles are less common
*Laughs in REEF-LUX 450*
FINALLY SOMEONE POINTED OUT THESE DIFFERENT DETAILS!!!!!! Also I want losing animations back!!!(but more dramatic like splatoon 1, bc it gave ur character more personality and it’s funnier)
I KNOW I CANT STOP LOOKING AT WHEN TILT THEIR WEIGHT AND THEY LEAN
Very informative, I learned alot, New sub!
Weird how you can now see the collarbone of an invertebrate.
it confuses me how inklings have no bones yet they have knees and elbows
I did notice the projectors lmao
7:16
There was once a time where that was the only way to tell someone had special ;w;
7:25 To be honest, I kind of miss the old physics. I thought it was really satisfying to watch the long-haired hairstyle sway back and forth.
WE NEED DEFEAT ANIMATIONS BACK 😭😭
Hey if you make a sequel you should add the fact the fellow inklings/octolings look at you if you walk into their field of view in the hub
One-handed shooting is a thing in Splatoon 2 with certain weapons if fired in the air while falling (or maybe you have to be jumping off of a grind rail in the campaign/OE, I'm not certain).
"Splatoon 3's inklings are deeper than you think"
I'm not gonna say anything
