    Abapers do lot of hard work to learn new things and gets exposure to various functional areas all the time..however they don't get enough credit being backend guys ...especially in Support world .I believe credit or functional guys build strong careers with Abaper help ... please comment your opinions..agreed or not agreed

    • @ZAPYard

      Dear Santu - It will be wrong to say that others build strong careers with ABAPer help. It is a Team Effort. Yes, we work hard and do the dirty work.. Functionals also have their share of dirty work to do. The only thing we lack is, we stay out of lime light. We do not talk about the work we do and we accomplished in the right forum.
      And it is the case with most ABAP Developers. We just want to deliver the objects or resolve the incident. We do not work towards participating in the discussions where we can highlight our achievements.
      Mind you, most CEO are backend developers. 😍😍 So there is light at the end of the tunnel. ❤❤

    Hello Raju. ZAPyard is a platform I have been frequenting on a day to day basis to help me in my work. I think you do a brilliant job for all the SAP consultants out there. The same goes for your LinkedIn posts, which are simple and informative. Look forward to a learning session on ODATA soon. However, UI5 and FIORI is still scary. Not sure if that’s my cup of tea.
    Would love to learn that too.

    • @ZAPYard
      @ZAPYard  2 года назад +1

      Thank you Sourav for your support. I think we can give a skip to SAPUI5, but as developers we should know little bit of Fiori as to how to find and implement and activate the standard Fiori apps. And we should know how to develop fiori elements app using CDS.. Fiori Elements, I think ABAP Developers can do.

    Sir I want to know about what is the difference between SAP ABAP consultant and SAP ABAP developer

  • @manishmalakar186
    @manishmalakar186 2 года назад +2

    Hi Raju, just an opinion from my end. Don't you think that the new 7.4 syntax SAP has come up with is not really needed. It's not like the performance is improved or anything, but just that the code is shortened and hundreds of brackets have come into picture which makes it very difficult to actually debug/understand. ABAP itself is vast like the Pacific and on top of that learning the new syntax puts additional pressure on ABAPers. Moreover, we cannot ignore it in case we need to debug someone else's code.

    • @ZAPYard
      @ZAPYard  2 года назад +1

      Very well articulated @Manish. Agree. The new syntax looks fancy and closer to the other programming language. But debugging it is a challenge in many cases. And the irony is, we cannot ignore it like we did OOPs. 😊. Hopefully with practice and usage, we will start accepting it and even like it in future. 😍😍
      Raju.

    • @SHAILESH506
      @SHAILESH506 2 года назад +1

      If you learn new syntaxes, you'll be able to work on BTP and ABAP Cloud, which actually don't support all old abap statements I think. Not sure about the correct terminologies because SAP just renames stuff so frequently.

    I would like to add to the list. At least that is true for German projects: following Clean Code and ABAP best practices (DSAG guidelines), Unit testing(TDD), using only Eclipse as an IDE and of course using the new syntax(7.4, 7.5+). But I am not agree that ABAP is a useful skillset for freshers. For freshers I would like to advice to learn more modern technologies like BTP, JS, microservices etc.
