- Johnny Cage's nut punch also known as nutcracker and split punch is without a doubt one of the most iconic signature moves in the Mortal Kombat franchise. The move itself was taken from the movie Bloodsport (1988) where Frank Dux (Jean-Claude Van Damme) performed the split punch to win a match against a bigger and larger opponent.
In this video, I performed the nut punch using Johnny Cage in every Mortal Kombat game in which this signature move appears. I hope you enjoy the video! :)

I mean, it is much more painful for a guy to be hit there, but it's also extremely inappropriate for a man to be touching a woman there and she's not his wife or girlfriend. Shaolin Monks fatality is one of my absolute favorites.
Also his nut punch is so brutal in that game blood sprays everywhere.
I like how is brutal but it has a silly flair, the animation is straight up something out of Dumb and Dumber.

Recently found an old footage of filming MK1’s Nut Punch, and it looked like the actor originally tried out punching and uppercutting in front of himself, but it would mean his legs weren’t visible to the camera, before they added the slip powder to make the sideview punch possible. So in a way MK9 and beyond’s splits uppercut is a more realistic depiction of how a splits nut punch would actually look.

When Johnny Cage's "Nut Punch" fatality in Shaolin Monks was first revealed, and when it had also been revealed that it could also be performed against Kitana, *MK fans really **_did_** go **_nuts!_* 🤣
It's really lame that they added the nut punch for women in the newer games. Not only would that move be less effective on females, but it also changes Johnny Cage's character, as he used to be more of a gentleman.

Once when I was a child me and my cousins were playing MK2 and my uncle saw we using this move. He found it so funny that he asked to play with us, he picked Johnny Cage and just kept using the nut punch. When we showed him that it didn't work on women he couldn't stop laughing.
