Hey Mark, do you still use the Falcam system? Was wondering your thoughts on it as I saw quite a lot of other comments from another video talking about how the plate will automatically get loose after a short period of time. While another brand called PGYTECH seems safer (but then it's also double the price of Falcam)
I still use the Falcam - everyday. The plates do not come loose if they are tightened properly. PGYTECH are good (I have some) - but their system is no where near as built out. The F38 has many tripods, backpack clips, camera straps, gimbals, cages. Go with the F38 - it's the best thing I have ever gone with
Great video! It's convincing me to go for this system. Only question I had is about the PD compatible one. I plan to use PD bag clip and use Ulanzi Strap clip. To keep the camera lens pointing down, will I need to loosen and rotate the base for f38 or PD system, or does it work in F38 base both ways, but PD only 1 way if that makes sense?
on that PD compatible plate - only one side will fit the peak design and the other the ulanzi. So if you wanted the lens pointed down on both clips, you'll need to rotate it - yeah.
Hey Mark, do you think this can handle the weight of a Lumix S5 II with the 24-105mm f4 lens? I want to add this attachment to my tripod, gimbal, and to my teleprompter.

Since I have ordered a TreeRoot tripod (based on your review), I would like to enter the F38 ecosystem but to be honest the product catalog is quite disconcerting. Regarding the plates, there is the 2268 and the 2270 which is multi-holes, what is the difference? It seems that there are also 3 different plates: the original 2269, the anti-deflect 2401and the new v2 2401A. Which one to get? I have also found a base plate for the Weebill S. Will it be compatible with the Weebill 3E as well? Or can I simply add a 2268 base to the original Weebill 3E? I'm so confused and the Ulanzi website is pretty messy as well.
The 2268 is the baseplate and top plate combo. the 2270 is just the baseplate of that unit. don’t worry too much about it - anything that has f38 will work. Here is what I would get - the multihole kit because it gives you the most options. it will have the base plate (3364) and the plate to attach to your gear. (3301). here is the link www.ulanzi.com/collections/falcam-f38-quick-release-series/products/falcam-f38-multi-hole-quick-release-kit-f38b3404?aff=574t You can fasten the base plate to your gimbal too without needing a specific weebil plate. then buy a few more of the 3301 plates to put on your other gear. It’ll be easier when you see it in person.
I'm very close to ordering thr F38 tripod. Some people complained of the quick release plates coming lose. How have they performed for you? As a total beginner I'm unsure if I should just get the Zero Y to stick with standard Arca swiss.
the f38 plates are great and they don’t come loose if they are tightened properly. I use it every single day. love it. the zero y is great too, but I’m really digging the quick release
does the knobs of the f38 capture plate dig into your skin like what david manning said? really want to get the ulanzi but i consider comfort more important so if it does, i'd rather get the PD plate
he's talking about the backpack clip specifically. The plates themselves are fine on all the products but the backpack clip has knot that stick out. I think the Peak Design backpack clip is nicer - So I actually use the peak design clip with the special Ulanzi plate that has one side f38 and one side Peak Design. But if you're only getting a backpack clip and that's it with no other parts to the quick release system - I would just get the Peak Design
no base plates will fit into the f38 system except f38 base plates. the f38 system and it’s base plates can be fastened into into any arca Swiss tripod head

It fits on backpack straps well - but most backpack strap are padded so it's best to use a clamp wrench to help you put it on easily and save your fingers from the twisting of those little screws. Check out David Mannings video on how he does it. ruclips.net/video/33twm5uXDuA/видео.html
That is quite a clever technique. Yes, these straps are very well-padded. I guess I can't leave the clamp for a long period, otherwise, it will damage the padding materials.
Thanks for this great video. I wanted to ask if you recommend this for a a sony a7s3 and a24-70g master and a cage. It gets kind of heavy and as I see it there is just one screw for mounting it to a camera so you cant realy relay on it not twisting around. Do you still recommend this to a slighty bigger setup ?

Oh yeah - you have to stick with the f38. They don’t fit other systems (except the pd adapter plate). Luckily is a fully fleshed out system
Do you get some strange vibrations with the M3 and the ulanzi M3 plate? When I have my ZV-E10 on it starts vibrating and then shuts off. I do however have a cage on my ZV-E10. I need to try and just use a f38 on the regular M3 plate, I think that will actually work better. The ulanzi M3 plate is quite thick.
if it’s vibrating like that is usually means you have an axis locked
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis I’m pretty sure i didn’t. I can balance it without problems but then when you have it on it suddenly starts to vibrate and shuts off. It’s the same problem as in this video ruclips.net/video/D81RtZZr8GE/видео.html
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis maybe you can do a full review on that plate. As far as I can see, there is no English speaking review on yt about that plate.
Are the Ulanzi F38s on Amazon legit? I feel before they weren’t available and only from the site and now I see them on Amazon. Any idea?
They do sell on Amazon, yes. Sometimes it takes a while for them to get there.
are you following me, I exactly was watching review about it like yesterday
I pay Google a lot to tell me what you’re watching
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis :O :) hahaha
This guy looks like young christofer nolan
unfortunately it cant be shipped to europe, sad for me
yes - it sure why that is. hopefully that will be changed soon
anyone else having issues with these plates unscrewing?
if tightened well, the should hold for quite a while.
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis i’ve tightened well enough the rubber tore to try to fix this issue. i’m going to try rubber washers next
Yep he just looked blowed right by it , not reading titles just thumbnail. Pic of a camera “this changes everything “ assumed that wasn’t what he was looking for 🤷♂️ sorry mate ✌️
DON'T BUY THIS!!!!!!!! ULANZI F38 (SAMETHING) Camera Quick Release Plate sucks I've had cameras to fall off tripods and one broke and also it gets stuck sometimes..
mine and everyone I know who has them love them. they work perfectly for me. I’ve use them for a year straight everyday. you have to make sure the plate clicks in, is fastened properly and there’s a locking mechanism, so that the camera cannot be removed until the failsafe is released. Sorry you had a bad experience and it’s always possible you had a defective unit, but this is the first negative thing I have ever heard out of hundreds of users that comment.
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis I bought 3 of them and one of them Im sure I made sure it was clicked. but to make sure I put it but on it and shake it around and it still fell off. but I did have a Rokion 135mm lens on it., and the a7iii had a battery grip... I also had another one on my gimbal with a7siii with 24 to 70 lens, and it worked good for a while, but while on a wedding shoot it wouldn't let me take my camera off at 1st, then when I got it off I couldn't get it back on..
there are a couple of youtube channels that complain about them.. you must gotten good ones..
I've been using the UTEBIT 323 RC2 Quick Release Plate for years, they are bigger and cheeper but I love them never had problem holding any size camera with it.. I got the ULANZI F38 because they were smaller, but after the failers I went back to the other ones..
glade they worked for you but not for me. I'm a wedding videographer so I do alot of run and gun shooting maybe they are not good for that..
Ulanzi 🤮
I love their stuff. Use it everyday,
