Knicks made some trades to clear up cap space for the next season so they weren’t close to the Bulls but the Knicks still played them tough that series
Yes and NY was great the next season. Rarely mentioned how they got "robbed" of a conference finals meeting with Chicago in 1997 when the league suspended key Knicks players for several games in their 2nd round series against the heat after easily taking a 3-1 series lead against Miami. Clearly NY was the much better team. It looked like they were going to meet the Bulls in the east finals, which would have been a much more interesting series than Chicago vs Miami, which ended in 4-1.
Im pretty sure NY could have pushed Chicagi to 6 or 7 games in 1997. It would have been great to see a continuation of that rivalry in 1997. PJ Brown strange altercation with Charlie Ward ended up destroying the Miami New York series in my opinion.
The Knicks were clearly the 2nd best team in the east in 1997.
What is "2024 edition"? Have these been republished?
Just watch the origional version from 1996...its full of timeline mistakes...
It bothered me from the time of its release so now I personally re-edited the whole dvd... mostly for my own viewing pleasure.
Maybe nobody notices the mistakes in the origional dvd but I do.
Playoff action shown in the regular season part of the dvd for example.
I also dislike slowmotion images because bball is a fast sport and it should amaze you in live speed in my opinion.
I love my own edited version and I like to share them here for those who enjoy.

Im slowly re-editing a lot of those old tapes. Dont have much time to do it but every now and then I get some time and Im always excited when I finish one.
Im busy with the 1993 bulls three peat dvd and also the 1997 bulls dvd...
I cant always fix everything in the origional dvd because I cant delete the audio stream...
The greg anthony shove was funny but I dont understand why they have to put that into the playoff part of the dvd...
There are so many errors like that.
They just pick and choose highlights that they like and put them wherever they like. Must be disturbing for most bball fans because Im sure Im not the only person who notices...
