Mase was a precursor to what Zion is in today's NBA, in terms of his overall playmaking ability. Too bad the Knicks offense was mainly Pat. That offense could've opened up a lot of things. Mason wasn't completely unlocked until Don Nelson showed up for the 95-96 season where he became a full time starter.

The "phantom foul" is such a myth. Pippen clearly hit Hubert Davis on the follow through. Anyone who has ever played ball knows that if you hit a shooter on the follow through you may get called for a foul. Dumb play by Pippen, and Hubert Davis still had to hit the 2 clutch foul shots which he did. Truth is, if Kukoc doesn't bail the Bulls out and hit the prayer of a game winner in game 3 while Pippen sulked on the bench the Knicks probably would've swept. And game 5 was only as close as it was because Derek Harper foolishly got suspended fighting Bulls bench scrub A.J. English. And the Bulls still could've won game 7 and got blown out. The 94 Bulls were a great story and had a great regular season, but this whole "they almost won the championship" narrative is nonsense. They had a good run and lost to a better team.
